Man turns self in after New Year's Eve death

A 43-year-old man walked into the St. Petersburg Police Department this morning and confessed that he believed he had strangled a man after a day of drinking on Dec. 31, New Year's Eve, according to police.

Gregoris_photo_3 Anthony Gregoris, left, whom police described as a transient, has been charged with second-degree murder.

According to police, Gregoris said he had spent the day drinking with Theron Wallace Driscoll, 60. Driscoll was found dead in his Verona Avenue Apartment in the High Point area near Largo on Monday. His family had asked deputies to check on his welfare.

When they arrived, authorities said they found no signs of foul play. Family members had advised he had a history of medical problems. Driscoll was found in his bed and his body was in the early stages of decomposition.

He will be autopsied today.

Wow , seems his crime made him go nuts now he cant live with him self so he as aman did come forward so some lenicy should be taken here but he should still play for his crime

at least he won't be homeless and hungry anymore. gee if all transients became murderers that would be the end to homelessness! food for thought

actually this poor guy's an idiot. homicide wasn't even suspected.

trycriminalbush, I think I love you.
(your choice of name)
This guy may not have DONE anything. He might have had something planted by some other idiot. He doesn't appear to know what happened.
Thye're trying to make all homeless criminals. Better yet, they'd like to make homelessness itself a criminal act and are close to that.
And that is just plain wrong.

this man is family member. He is not a poor transient, he is a horrible man with a violent temper. Believe me this was a long time in coming. He has an alcohol and a severe drug problem and while he does have blackouts this is not out of charicter for him in the slightest
