Portion of Ashley closed due to water main break

TAMPA -- City officials are closing down northbound Ashley Drive between E. Whiting Street and Kennedy Boulevard until Friday to allow workers to repair a broken four-inch water main, according to the Tampa Downtown Partnership.

All northbound traffic is being rerouted east on Whiting to Florida Avenue and then west on Kennedy back to Ashley Drive, the news release from the Tampa Department of Transportation and Planning stated.

Work is expected to be complete Friday, weather permitting. Southbound traffic will not be affected.
