Temple Terrace man accused of rape, battery

TEMPLE TERRACE - A 46-year-old man was accused of rape and battery today after a house party turned ugly, Temple Terrace police say.

Someone called police to 8732 Overlook Drive at 3:25 a.m. Thursday because of a disturbance. William Bruce Koenig, who lives at the address, had beaten up Greg Dickson of Brandon, said Michael Dunn, a police spokesman.

When officers arrived, Koenig wasn't at the house. Officers could see that Dickson was hurt, but he insisted he did not want to press charges. "He had a broken nose, abrasions and bruises," Dunn said, so police went looking for Koenig.

A couple of hours later, Dickson called police from the Dunkin' Donuts on E Busch Boulevard. He said Koenig had beaten him up again and this time he would press charges.

While arresting Koenig at his home, a woman came to police and told them Koenig had taken her to the Civil War cemetery at 8729 Overlook Drive and raped her, Dunn said.

Koenig faces charges of sexual battery, battery, aggravated battery with great bodily harm, false imprisonment and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He's being held at the Orient Road jail without bail.

Way to go! My husband would have done the same thing. There is so much low life out there. What makes a man think he can do something like that and get away with it? I know for a fact there are alot of them out there, too.
