Former Brewers relief pitcher arrested for domestic battery
WESLEY CHAPEL -- Former Milwaukee Brewers relief pitcher Christopher Spurling, 31, was arrested Thursday night after being accused of throwing his ex-wife to the ground during a dispute, according to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office.
Spurling is from Dayton, Ohio, and was drafted by the New York Yankees in 1997. Since then, he has been with the Pittsburgh Pirates, Atlanta Braves, Detroit Tigers and Milwaukee Brewers major and minor league organizations. He was released by the Brewers during spring training last year.
The Pasco County Sheriff's Office said Spurling -- who is listed as 6 feet 6 inches tall and weighing 245 pounds -- and his ex-wife argued at a home in Wesley Chapel and that Spurling "threw her down to the floor." The Sheriff's Office said this was witnessed by their 7-year-old daughter and her friend. Spurling denied the accusation, according to his arrest report.
He is charged with domestic battery and is being held without bail at the Land O'Lakes jail.

spurling, you assume the charges are true. Many mean women have pressed false charges against men for one reason or another. Innocent until proven guilty. IF guilty he should be jailed as an example.
