Report: Man causes ruckus at Dairy Queen

WESLEY CHAPEL -- The stranger went behind the Dairy Queen counter and wandered over to the drive-through window. And wouldn't leave.

Authorities say James Harner, a 44-year-old laborer from Land O'Lakes, refused to leave the Dairy Jamesharner Queen on State Road 54 in Wesley Chapel late Tuesday. Management asked him several times, according to a report from the Pasco County Sheriff's Office.

Finally, Harner went outside but approached cars waiting in the drive-through line, the report states. Dairy Queen staffers again told him to leave. So he went behind the restaurant.

When a deputy showed up, Harner said he had methadone in his pocket, a synthetic narcotic used to treat addiction to heroin, morphine and other opioid drugs. The deputy searched him and found other drugs -- Xanax, an anti-anxiety medication, and Dilaudid, a medicine for pain, according to the report. Harner said he had prescriptions for all of the medications but couldn't produce any of them, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Harner was arrested. One his way to the Land O'Lakes jail, he posed a question: Would the deputy let him go in exchange for doing work at the deputy's house?

The answer was no.

Harner is charged with disorderly conduct, trespassing after a warning and three counts of possessing a controlled substance without a prescription. He is being held without bail.

druggies.......... will be the demise of america

man DQ makes people nuts.mmmmm

At least make yourself a blizzard before you go!

Who writes these reports?? Kids??

What was the man doing approaching cars at the drive through? Does not say. What did he say behind the counter? does not say. Was he panhandeling? Does not say.

This report said all those words and I could have said it in two sentences.

A man apparently on drugs went behind the counter at a DQ and began harrasing the workers and cars at the drive up window. Police were called they found drugs on him and he was arrested and taken to jail held without bail.

And why the big deal, it happens a hundred times a day through out Tampa Bay what was the reporters lunch interupted so they found it was big news?? The media, ya gotta love it.

"One his way to the Land O'Lakes jail, he posed a question: Would the deputy let him go in exchange for doing work at the deputy's house?"
Isn't the offer to do work for the deputy if he would let him go attempted bribery?

Why didn't they just hire this guy? Last time I visited DQ, the person behind the counter wanted to know if I wanted my nuts crushed? Scary. I do like the blizzards with lots of peanuts though.
