St. Pete man robbed, shot in head -- but still talking
ST. PETERSBURG -- A 31-year-old man said he was robbed and shot early this morning, police said. Sean Gordon Price was able to tell police all about it, even though a bullet struck him in the back of the head.
Price flagged down an officer around 2:53 a.m. near 15th Avenue S and 22nd Street, police said. He told the officer he had been shot in the back of the head and robbed of his cellphone, wallet and backpack.
Police say he had an exit and entry wound in the back of his head, but the department released no other details of his injury.
Price was taken to a hospital for treatment and his condition today is unknown. But at the hospital he was able to speak, telling officers he would recognize his assailants and that he wanted them prosecuted.
But so far police don't have a crime scene or any suspects. The shooting has "drug overtones," according to a police spokesman. police ask anyone with information about the incident to call (727) 893-7780.

2:51 AM, walking in that neighborhood, and with a back pack?
I hope that he is OK but not not a very smart move.
Not the best neighborhood to out for an early morning jaunt.

2:51 a.m. and walking around in that neighborhood? He was either on drugs and looking for more or just getting out to look for drugs then. Either way, it's definitely drug related.

are you his dealer JR? cuz you seem pretty sure you know it's drug related. all signs say it probably is but believe it or not sometimes people are actually doing something completely innocent. try not to assume. ya know, innocent til proven guilty...oh but that really doesn't apply anymore obviously

Ms Martin, you sure do love taking up for the criminals? Tell me what an innocent person could be doing walking around 15th Avs S at 2:51 in the morning? You know, maybe that backpack had all of his college textbooks. He was just up late studying for a test and needed a walk....right?

Actually there is a store there at the corner of 15th and 22nd Street that stays open all night...the only one in the area. There are often at least a handful of people out at that time of morning and some who hang out around the store. I've been to that store at that time of night myself. If this guy was shot in that area, he was shot for a reason - and likely it was drug related as there is very little else in that area to be doing other getting what you need from the store and leaving.

Actually drug dealing is always taking place in front of that store and when police get called out there the suspects run away.

It may not have been drug related but 15 Av S and 22 St is not a place to be walking around at that hour. It is drug invested and crime ridden area. Could be an innocent victim but there are other places to go...Get a ride to somewhere a few blocks north...

would you guys say it was drug related had it happend in Treasure Island. The man got shot in the head and you blame him?? you people are a disgrace, just because he was black does not mean they are drug dealers and/or on drugs. I got robbed in St Pete Beach by a white guy at 1:45 walking to the store, to get something to eat, I guess I was out looking to buy crack from the white guy in St Pete Beach when he decided to rob me. You folks are quick to judge

I know Sean very well. In fact, I was the person the cops called at 3:30am when it all went down. For the record, Sean was NOT on drugs. He was also NOT looking to score drugs either. The police believe that it was drug related in regards to the man trying to rob Sean for drug money. No, he should not have been in that area. He's an idiot for that, and I've told him so already. That doesn't give anyone a reason to judge until you know the whole story.
