Lehr the latest signing

The Bucs have signed offensive guard Matt Lehr, a Falcons free agent, to a one-year contract, his agent said today.

The Bucs were among several teams vying for Lehr's services, including the Giants and Dolphins.

Lehr, 6-2 and 304 pounds, started a combined 26 games for the Falcons during the past two seasons and has 69 starts in six seasons. Last season, the 27-year-old was suspended for four games after violating the NFL's steroid policy.

Lehr's signing comes on a day the Bucs are hosting Denver guard Cooper Carlisle, another starting-caliber lineman who can play multiple positions. There was no immediate word on whether Carlisle is close to a deal.

And in other team news, offensive lineman Anthony Davis was arrested in his hometown of Victoria, Va. on Sunday and charged with disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor. The exact nature of the situation is not clear, and Victoria police chief James A. Drayton declined to elaborate.

Davis' agent, Jeffrey Chilcoat, would not comment on the details but said the incident that prompted the arrest was instigated by a person other than Davis. Chilcoat believes there is a chance Davis, 27, will be cleared of any wrongdoing.

Davis, who was later released on his own recognizance, is scheduled for a court appearance on April 25.

Faggg-Boy Gruden is an offensive coaching retarded Asssss-Hole.

umm, biff steele....and this "faggg-boy" Gruden brought us a super bowl!!! so id shut the f*#k up, especially when you dont know what your talking about...hes a genious, and last year was unfortunate. it takes time to win, especially with a super young offense like we had last year. now, with the addition of verterans on the Oline, we have a good combo....so just stfu and be patient.

What does Jon Gruden have to do with this. The Bucs are still the most recent NFC Championship Winners. So noone in the NFC can talk S%*#. Gruden needs an offensive assistant and makes irrational decisions but you can't knock him.

How can sportswriters be so self-righteous when it comes to steroids in baseball, yet consistently downplay the obvious, pervasive presence of steroids in football?

If Lehr is now off steroids, can he stay at 300 lbs?

Well I think signing these two OL FA will be a plus when draft day approaches. Tampa can get a good quality rookie linemen in the mid rounds.

I think he is a great Player. He has always been great at what he does.
