Kelly shows up

Look who showed up for workouts today: cornerback Brian Kelly.

Even Kelly's position coach, Raheem Morris, had said previously that Kelly wasn't expected until mandatory workouts next month. But for whatever reason, Kelly decided to attend Tuesday's voluntary practice.

Kelly is expected to speak with the media after the conclusion of today's practice, which should wrap up shortly here at One Buc Place.

Comments

This is a big key to the Bucs defense. Kelly does deserve more then he's currently getting, but he's not going to see it. I really think that he's strong tackling abilities as well as his ball hawking skills were incredibly missed last season. The speculation of trading him always makes me laugh as the Bucs already have him at a bargain price.

Just wondering why the SP Times has decided not to quote Kelly in this news blog?

I’ll be here and I’m here,’’ Kelly said when asked if he planned to attend the team’s mandatory minicamp next month. “This is Tampa and unfortunately it’s very boring right now. There’s nothing going on but football and all you get to do is speculate about the Bucs. I’m the guy who gets speculated on.’’

Would it perhaps be because it's a direct contradiction to the stories published by the Times earlier this offseason and it's not conducive to the Times Sports staff's agenda?
