Panthers cut Keyshawn
Keyshawn Johnson was released by the Carolina Panthers Tuesday, leaving one of the NFL's most productive receivers looking for a third team in as many years.
"They said they wanted to get younger,'' Johnson said. "That's fine with me. I'd like to go somewhere and help someone win another Super Bowl.''
Johnson, 34, spent the weekend working for ESPN in New York during their NFL draft coverage and will undoubtedly receive offers to work in broadcasting. But his first choice is to play another season or two.
The move was somewhat surprising since the Panthers paid Johnson a $3-million roster bonus April 1. Carolina drafted Southern Cal receiver Dwayne Jarrett and also have Keary Colbert.
Last season, Johnson caught 70 passes for 815 yards and four touchdowns, two of them against Tampa Bay.
Johnson even joked that he would consider returning to the Bucs.
"Me and Jon Gruden together again. You never know,'' he said laughing. "Billy Martin and George Steinbrenner did it.''

Hey Keyshawn, The Bucs would be glad to have you back, only if you change your attitude with Gruden because he needs help with the WR position. I think he, Joey Galloway, & Michael Clayton need you.

Keyshawn.. I think you need to make a USC reunion with Jeff Fisher, Norm Chow, and Lendale White! Come join the Titans! We would love to have you have a 1000yd receiving year!!!

Come back to Buc Land Keyshawn. You and Gruden will be able to stir the fire and give the Media a ton to write about. Not to mention helping us to another Championship.

Keyshawn in one breath says he would like to play on another potential superbowl team, then says he might consider rejoining the Bucs. These statements are mutually exclusive. The only potential the Buc's have is to stink up Raymond James Stadium so bad that the Hazmat squad will have to be called to save the fans from asphyxation..

The Pats could take you on and let you and Moss fight for the most media attention. The world would forget about T.O. if you did that.

Just give him the @#$% microphone. I hope he becomes a moderator on Rosie's next show.

me-shawn now is going on his 5th team and as he looks for his 3rd in 3 years...his tv time during the draft was so ego-centric...not here meshawn, you dropped too many balls and whined too much anyway...time to hang em up.

Agreed. Despite what you might think about Keyshawn, he was essential in getting that superbowl ring.
Imagine how hard he would play against carolina.

Sign him to a contract with no bonus, then cut him in training camp!

I am one of the few who actually enjoyed Keyshan while he was here.
He was one of "Dungy's Guys" who got more press than Gruden so he had to go.
The only reason Mike Alstott is still here is because he is "THE FACE" of Buc football.. Gruden shelved Mike 2 seasons ago.. Wake up coach. Your ego is killing this team !!!!!!!!!

Well, your comments couldn't be more moronic. How does Keyshawn getting cut by his third team in three years turn into a chance for you to bash Gruden? How can you say Key was one of "Dungy's guys", when he was Tony's biggest detractor? Even Key's buddy Parcells got rid of him twice...first from the Jets and then later by the Cowboys. Keyshawn was an important part of our Super Bowl team, but now it is over for a guy who's talent has never lived up to his ego.

I have always liked Keyshawn, even though his departure from Tampa was a bad one. I think he should go play for either Seattle or Kansas City. Sign a 1 year deal, be satisfied with the given role on the team and if let go, then call it a day. The guy can still play and not, then he has a future in broadcasting. He's charismatic, intelligent and knows the game.

It doesn't matter if you like him or not, Keyshawn can play the game.
I'm not his fan but teams like the Eagles (who need a go to WR) would be good with a 1 year deal with Johnson.
He is good for 70 catches and 800+ yards every season.
His attitude was a question last year too, but he still performed decently for Carolina.
Any tean who needs a WR while they groom some young talent, may want to seriously look at him.
He's not as bad as T.O. was.

Looks like all the coaches "you" thought had respect for you and you had respect for, dropped you like a loser ! Each time you came back to RAY J, you disrespected the fans as well as the BUCS with your ignorant gestures! STAY AWAY LOSER you had your chance now whose got the last laugh ?!

I think it would be great to see keyshawn back as a buc...but i agree to loose the attitude and just play ball...

Keyshawn, come to Philly! We need good receivers and you could teach the young'uns how to hold on to Donovan McNabb's crisp passes...it could put us into "contender" status with Westbrook's newfound running game right away. Come to the Eagles!!!
