Bruce Allen's reaction
Bruce Allen spoke to reporters a few minutes ago about David Boston's release, and among the highlights of the conversation was Allen's revelation that Boston's days in Tampa are over.
"I think we've moved on," Allen said. Boston, remember, was released days before the season in 2006 but was brought back to compete this fall.
Allen said Boston maintains his innocence, even in light of a police-administered urine test that discovered high levels of the drug GHB in his system.
"That's a serious charge to make. We talked to David about that and obviously there are two sides to the story," Allen said. "David has said he is innocent and we'll let him defend himself on that. But we take that very seriously. I think the courts will determine his guilt or innocence."
As for Boston's injury, which was the impetus for his release, Allen said it was not an excuse for the team to rid itself of a problem.
"His injury is a legitimate injury or else he would have played in the game at Seattle," Allen said. "We feel we need a healthy receiver for this game and it's in the Bucs' best interest to go in this direction. We needed some help in the return game."

let hope he is hitting the road with boston too!

How about asking about Sunday's debacle and the state of this sorry team he is responsible for with co-architect Jon Gruden? Boston is history. He was never going to be a force here. Ask any Chargers' fan. We need the press to step up and put Allen under the pin.

The Bucs are using the money they under the salary cap to buy drugs for their players. Investigation is ongoing. Jon Gruden is suspected of slipping GHB into Boston's drink before he drove home so he can have his way with him when he did get home. The plan fell apart when Boston fell asleep at a stop light. His car, as reported, drove off before the police arrived. More details will be reported as soon as we can get them...

Now that’s quality blogging!!!

Actually I slipped the GHB into Boston's drink, then hoping he would get caught, so they can release him and open another roster spot.. since they dont have enough quarterbacks as is.. I figured.. if anyone.. the Bucs can forget my past and sign me...(they have done it before) wink..wink then if not now.. it would be next yr. "Oh you mean I'm suspended and going to Jail" I guess it is serious..

The help needed in the return game is to not make illegal blocks.

I slipped him a "mickey" to move up the depth chart.

Oh good, Allen didn't just come out and say he was released because he was arrested for a DUI and the police findings proved its severity.
Then there may actually be some kind of standard or class in the organization again.
Dungy must have taken it with him.
And victories left shortly thereafter.

Aaron, you're a dummy. I didn't post that, my fans, or secret admirers, are posting things in my name, just look at the other blogs. I agree with you that Gruden and Allen can go to the hell they came from.

As far as I'm concerned GM Allen needs to get rid of TE Stevens he's a veterans but also he will be going to Jail sometime this year in Arizona. Let's bring in another TE to replace him. Let see also Tampa needs to advance WR Stovall to starting WR opposite Galloway. And keep Clayton at
backup. I think he has more speed and leaping abilities. Go Bucs 2007.

i remember gruden saying last year he wanted stovall to pack on a few more pounds so he could split time at wr and te this year. i didnt see much more weight on him though. still we should line him up there in certain situations and see how he does.
Posted by: aaron | September 14, 2007 at 06:25 AM
Aaron, you can't believe a word that comes out of Gruden's mouth. You should know that by now.
Posted by: DR | September 14, 2007 at 09:50 AM
well you have a point there. but it really seemed like a interesting option. i guess we havent seen that personnel package because we almost always use our TE to help block, since our line tends to have trouble handling the other team. stovall isnt the best blocker.
