Piscitelli's season is over
The Bucs have placed second-round pick Sabby Piscitelli on injured reserve after the safety sustained a broken right foot in Sunday's win against the Rams. The move will sideline him for the rest of the season.
In his place, the Bucs have added receiver Chad Lucas to the active roster from the practice squad, while adding tackle Jason Capizzi and receiver Michael Spurlock to the practice squad. Center/guard Enoka Lucas was released from the practice squad.
Earlier today, Piscitelli, wearing a hard cast on his foot, said the injury was a major disappointment.
"I had expectations of coming in here and making a lot of plays for Tampa Bay and having a big rookie year," he said. "It’s hard to realize that the plans are going to be (thrown off). But at the same time, I have to try to turn this into a positive. I have to study and learn the game in the meantime. But it’s going to be a struggle. You can’t sugarcoat it. It’s hard. I’m just hoping I can come back with a vengeance."
Elsewhere, it appears everyone else is reasonably healthy. Joey Galloway, Brian Kelly, Luke Petitgout and Greg Spires participated in practice on a limited basis, but that was primarily to get them some rest.

So has anyone figured out why Pittman and Graham decided to change positions in the huddle during last weeks game, as Romano stated in his coulumn the other day?
Does Gruden allow such a thing to happen? We're the players (Pittman and Graham) just joking with Romano and he believed them?

Doesnt really matter who gets hurt at this point, our team sucks, we are going to get pounded this weekend. We never play well in Carolina. Gruden is an idiot anyway.

Dan, where the hell did you come from? Why don't you go back there and bash some other team you know nothing about.

I'm proud of this team! A lot will happen in 17 weeks, but the heart the BUCS have shown us so far, gives me hope. Dan go screw yourself!

Dan came from the Panthers blog http://blogs.charlotte.com/panthers/

Nice to see everyone banding together to run off the jackass interloper. Go to (football) Hell, Dan!

Speaking of the Panthers blog...didn't Pat Yasinkas used to write for the Tribune back in the creamsicle days? I seem to recognize that name...

it seems to me that the bandwagon is coming back.
one other thing... Dan go crawl back into your hole and your panthers will follow you with their tails between their legs after the bucs put a hurting on them

Sabby Piscitelli.....
Rocco Baldelli ......
I don't speak Italian, but does that mean Fragile - handle with care?
Posted by: db | September 26, 2007 at 10:23 PM
db, sabby is far from fragile. As an OSU Beaver fan i watched him in college and was elated when the bucs drafted him. he is a tough a** son of a b*t*h. he never missed any games in college because of injury, and he played through plenty of pain. he was a stand out player in a great college football conference. he will be good at the pro level too. a broken foot is a broken foot, what can you do? 8 weeks he would be out. allen put him on IR, ending his season, i gaurentee sabby didnt like that decision. he wants to be out there playing and hitting somebody.

College play means nothing anymore, who cares, its over. Many players have been studs in college and sucked as pros. Look at every receiver and QB from gatorland. Not that Sabby will be bad, but college play means nothing. Hopefully, he will bounce back from this injury next year and play like an angry man ready to prove something.
The Bucs have a lot to prove this week. They played well against bad DEs, o-6 teams. If you're a true fan, there is no need to talk trash.

Dr quit acting like a wuss, (if you're a true fan, there is no need to talk trash). I’ve had the best time this past week talking smack with the Panther fans. None of us are actually playing in this game, so all we can do is talk trash and hope the Bucs validate our trash talking. Besides if you actually bought into your last post, I wouldn’t read all the trash talking between you and Tom or aaron. Don’t be so hypocritical. By the way Dan the Bucs will leave Charlotte 3-1 after pulling the Panthers panties down and spanking there @$$ on the 50 yard line for three hours.

dr, you missed the point, my young lad. it was not about how good he is going to be. it was about how tough he is. he played through injuries in college and he will in the pros. but this isnt just a boo-boo, its a broken foot.

aaron, "he was a stand out player in a great college football conference. he will be good at the pro level too." You were equating college play to NFL play.
Posted by: DR | September 27, 2007 at 12:22 PM
by reading my post is that what you think was the main point?
Posted by: aaron | September 27, 2007 at 01:08 PM
No, but you still made that subpoint.

When Sabby is back, heaven help the other teams.
He is Jake Scott, personified.

my lord dr, you just sit there like a vulture ready jump on anything you can. you know, i agree with some of the stuff you post, but it is the way that you respond to people that makes me dislike you. someone will make a valid point and you will search that entry and find something to complain or antagonize them about, then call them a name. you must have serious issues. are you well liked by your peers, do you have any friends at all? it seems that you have the social skills of a rock.
Posted by: aaron | September 28, 2007 at 06:06 AM
i hope that he has a career as good as jake scott. he was a good one!

Man, you and these other guys don't look in the mirror. You guys do the same exact thing. If I have no life, than you guys must not have a life either. I don't spin your words, you write them, I respond to them. You guys like to try to read into everything I say. Gruden deserves criticism, he has a losing record. Getting 2 wins against terrible defenses shouldn't get your super bowl hopes up. They have a real challenge this week, and if they beat the Panthers, than will I consider a better outlook this year.
Posted by: DR | September 28, 2007 at 07:03 AM
i have no issues with what you say about gruden. i dont like him either. i never said you have no life, i said you have no social skills. when you disagree with someone you act like an a** and insult them. i have disagreed with many people on this site but the only time it gets dirty is with you. you have your right to your views, but you just need to relax a little there dr.
Posted by: aaron | September 28, 2007 at 07:10 AM
If I recall, you were the one that started the insults. But, either way, its water under the bridge. This week will be the first true measure of how good the Bucs are. A division game on a field you haven't done well on, let's see how this plays out.
Posted by: DR | September 28, 2007 at 08:23 AM
this will be a true test. i think we may see bj askew or becht more this week. trueblood will need some help on that right side. the key is our o-line, which it always is. if they block caddy should be able to get his yards and garcia should have enough time to find the open man. their d-backs arent too hot this year.
