Stevens found guilty

The verdict is in, and it's not good for Jerramy Stevens.

A Scottsdale, Ariz. jury has found him guilty of DUI, and Stevens is now facing up to 30 days in jail. Sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 2.

Stevens was arrested in March after officers determined he was driving drunk with a blood-alcohol level about four times the legal limit.

We don't know at this time how this will affect his status with the Bucs, but Stevens is looking at a likely suspension from NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.

bucs should change team name to dui all stars with cox, stevens, & boston as team captains. In fact i think our coach even has a dui conviction from his raider days

Mr.T

Folks make mistakes, but, I have to say the Bucs have other needs right now. They need to get Mark Jones or someone for the return game.

I'd cut Stevens, Boston, and sign Jones and see if Doug Jolley (sp?) or someone like that is available.

Jones can provide that 10 extra yards on average return to shorten the field for the offense.

rick

Apparently you did not look at the video I think Boston got screwed He did everything that the police asked him to do and it looked ok to me .00 on the breath test and they still took him in-- typical Pinellas Park B.S.

Kurt

Our president and vice president both have DUI's to their names and you dumbasses still voted them in to office. Who cares if a football player has one. Apparently "America" doesn't hold that as an important criteria for even the greatest jobs in the land. The thought of that really sucks doesn't it. Go Bucs and Ron Paul!!!

Skylar

Boston was as guilty as anybody I've ever seen. He consistently did NOT do what the officer asked him because he was as high as a kite and that is why the charges are going to stick you moron. He couldn't stand up straight, didn't follow directions correctly and was obstinate to the officer. You must not have really watched closely because it was like watching a train wreck to me. The officer told him he knew he was high on something and that a breathalizer, etc was not going to show what kind of drug he was on. The guy thought he was in Hillsborough County for Christ's sake - get with it!!!

Mr.T

Rick,

Not sure who you're directing that to. I look at Cost/Benefit/Need. Right now, the Bucs don't need Boston or Stevens. The Bucs NEED a return man and can get another TE quickly who is as good or better than Stevens. The folks that fill those spots likely won't have an arrest records.

I'm not judging them at all. I'm looking at if from a business/performance perspective. The Bucs NEED good players ON the field.

Greg

Heinrick & Gessler. Sign' um and play 'em. They deserve a shot.

It is odd how individuals can consistently view an event and walk away with two totally different perspectives. I watched the video and grew angrier by the second. I have never heard of or seen an officer request 5 different intoxication test only to still arrest the person even after he passed each test. What you may perceive as being high I identified as quiet but respectful protest. If he told the officer that he was full of BS he would have been carted off to jail before he had an opportunity to pass the test. Boston willingly volunteered to take a urine test and breathilizer and was denied that opportunity. He did as he was asked even when it was obvious from his body language and tone that he was really pissed off that the officer was harrassing him. Im not from Tampa but if that is the type of biased unfounded reasoning used to incarcerate indivduals the local jail must be the largest employer in the City.

Michael

Jeremy Stevens is a punk, checkout his wrap sheet on Wikipedia. The Bucs organization used to be a class act but Bruce Allen and Gruden have made it into a second rate organization with no morals or ethics...it's a shame...

Kurt

Doug, if that is what you call quiet but respectful protest, then you may be smoking the same stuff as Boston. That guy didn't follow one direction correctly and tried to blame an injury, which was not reported on any media outlet, for his inability to not stand up straight. Apparently you have bias that you're not disclosing, but its evident.

Skylar

Michael and Brogan - I agree with you 100%. I don't understand how a once in a lifetime opportunity becomes second, third and sometimes fourth chances. But then again, like Kurt said earlier, our country doesn't have any morals. Our Pres and VP both have had troubles with the law (and on multiple occasions,) but it doesn't make a difference anymore. And Dough, I completely disagree with you, it was obvious he was taunting and being disrespectful to the officer during his lackluster DUI performance. Sorry, don't agree with you at all.

me

All of you shut the F&%! up

j.k.

no one cares if the bucs win, that's all that matters. go gruden. mind the daycare.

Beavercat

Stevens has always been a problem...this is another in a long line of behavior problems for the perennially talented underachiever.

Carol

OMG, he's a football player. He can't possibly be guilty. The police must be setting him up! He plays sports!! He's a sports star!!!!!!!! THE COPS ARE FRAMING HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LIFE ISN'T FAIR!! DON'T THE COPS HAVE BETTER THINGS TO DO??? LIKE ARREST NON-SPORTS PEOPLE FOR DRIVING DRUNK!!!! GAWD, WHAT ARE THE COPS THINKING ARRESTING A SPORTS STAR!!!!

Ra'Shad

Why is everybody riding stevens N-sacs.
You all knew he had a case pending when we signed him. Now that the verdict is out, what's the fuss about? Like ole buddy said G.Bush had some run ins with the Law and i know Jeb had some run ins but both of them are still running things. I'd rather a drunk tight end than a sniffin president and govenor.

DR

Not sure where the misunderstanding is but what do you think a cop should do WHEN THEY FIND A MAN ASLEEP AT THE WHEEL OF A CAR STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT AT 8:30PM!!!??? SHOULD THEY WAKE HIM UP AND LET HIM GO? GIVE ME A F'N BREAK, THE COP DID AN OUTSTANDING JOB DEALING WITH AN IGNORANT MORON!
And Stevens is a mediocre TE at best, why bring the organization down for an average player who can't catch a freakin' ball. oh yeah, the coach is jon gruden.

Skylar

Not to rub it in Dough, but looks like we were all right, and you...wrong. The test results are back. It's amazing how work is the cure to all of these ills. I wonder why some people work harder at not working than if they just went out and worked in the first place?
