Adams suffers injury
Rookie defensive end Gaines Adams missed practice today with a chest injury that coach Jon Gruden said was suffered in practice, probably on Wednesday.
It's not clear how serious the injury is and Gruden wouldn't speculate on whether Adams will play at Detroit on Sunday.
Also, tight end Alex Smith (ankle), defensive end Patrick Chukwurah (shoulder) and Brian Kelly (groin) missed practice. They're availability for Sunday hasn't yet been determined, but it doesn't look good for any of them. Smith said today he did not damage any ligaments in his ankle, so that's positive. He also said the injury is not believed to be a high ankle sprain, the variety that is very slow to heal.

Fantastic! Two pass rushers out against the worst team in the league at protecting the QB.

Mike,
Chill out. Gaines will play Sunday.

Chukwurah is the one we need to play. Thankfully we have some depth on the D-line, also in the secondary.
Where part time player Brain Kelly seems to always be hurt. Maybe if he had been training with the team in offseason he won't have pulled his groin.

Gaines was diagnosed with Tin man syndrome....he is searching for a heart just like the rest of the false 4-2 Bucs. Lions step on their throat early and the rout is on. Trap game for Tampa cause they are not that good. 31-13 Lions roll!

Adrian Peterson anyone???????

Andy,
I said we should draft him, but we didn't and its unfair to compare him since its an offensive player v. defensive player. I think the better comparision should be between him and Amobi Okoye who would have addressed the defense as well and had more upsdie. Okoye already has 4 sacks and 15 tackles.

Too early to tell. Gaines has the same number of tackles as okoye. 5 coming in his last game. okoye hasn't done anything in two weeks. okoye rarely comes off the field. okoye plays alongside mario williams. we need more time to tell. If gaines can develop more of a bull rush to go with his speeed, he'll be a great one.

Too Soon
Yea, I agree. I was commenting that we should compare Adams to Okoye instead of to AD. It is very unfair to compare a running back to a defensive end.
