Darby, Roland to active roster

The Bucs have promoted running back Kenneth Darby and offensive tackle Dennis Roland to the active roster from the practice squad, the team announced.

Those moves were made after the team placed running back Cadillac Williams and tackle Luke Petitgout on injured reserve, officially ending their seasons. Williams underwent successful surgery on Tuesday to repair his torn patellar tendon. Petitgout said he will likely undergo knee surgery on Friday.

Wednesday's moves may be an indication the Bucs aren't holding out much hope of acquiring more experienced players at either position, one day after they engaged in brief trade talks with the Vikings about the availability of reserve running back Mewelde Moore. The Vikings were seeking a first-day draft pick in exchange, a price the Bucs considered much too high.

Good move~

Thank God they promoted Darby instead of making a trade. Out current roster is plenty capable of carrying the load.

very good move, good job bucs

good move by gruden and allen not to make a trade or pick up an old washed up vet. for a minute there i thought gruden might bring in tyrone wheatley or terry kirby...

I still think that Tampa should try to pick a Mike Turner from SD. This knee injury would/could put Caddy on the shelf for +1 years and he may never be the same. A 2nd or 3rd pick and a player. Turner the may need some time to pick up our offence but we will get a return in the end. What happens if we lose Pittman or Graham to injury? Who do we call on to carry the rock?

Come on Tampa fans, you could bring the 85 Bears and you still could not stop the Colt's offense. I can't wait till Monday. Then I bet the feeling about your season will change. I heard the same things form Houston fans two weeks ago after they beat up the Panthers. Then they got their wakeup call. See you Monday to give it to you.GO COLTS!!!!WORLD CHAMPS!!!!!!

Here's my hunch: the Bucs will entertain the thought of acquiring Ricky Williams from the Dolphins...

I'm sorry about those comments who must be a die heart colts fan just like I am a die heart tampa bay fan I remember when Tampa went 0-26. I thought I would put some revenge factor. Back in 2003 Tampa hosts Colts in Tampa when Tampa had I believe a 35-7 lead. Guess what Colts came back an won, The team remembers that espically the veterans. I think this will be a battle against two good teams. With the outcome will not be known until late in the 4th qtr. I really believe that coach Gruden and Dungy knows that this is a big game for both teams.
