Report: Kiffin not among Nebraska finalists
ESPN.com is reporting that Nebraska has narrowed the list of candidates for its vacant coaching job to University of Buffalo coach Turner Gill and LSU defensive coordinator Bo Pelini.
The report can be found here.
Bucs defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin didn't confirm nor deny interest in the job, which has been open since Bill Callahan was fired on Saturday. But Kiffin played and coached at Nebraska and his name was mentioned during the school's last coaching search. He seemed intrigued during interviews in recent days.
Kiffin's son, Lane, fueled speculation when he mentioned in a recent interview that his father would have taken the job back in 2003 and still might if offered. But if either of the two reported finalists accept, it doesn't seem the call will come.

Excellent news.

Kiffin certainly deserves any consideration he receives, but this guy needs to remain a Buc. Monte built the 'back bone' of this team through his defense and has continued to be that guy for more than a decade. He should be enshrined in the hall along with D Brooks. Glazers..if you listening...pay the man what he wants.....and give him one more Defensive draft next year.

No surprise, Kiffin never had a chance and wouldn't have taken the job. He didn't want to be a head coach in the NFL, why the hell ould he be a college coach? He'll continue his legacy and continue trying to right the Buccaneers ship. They need a new captain of the ship.

Haha Tom.
My pewter sensitive side came out because the County requires it to. I went to a bar to watch a game and the guy sitting next to me told me his name was Tom. I beat the living crap out of him and got arrested. i showed the police your blogs and they understood so they reduced my charges and gave me probation and anger management.
