Byner to interview for RBs post
With one of two position-coach openings now filled, there's a chance the Bucs might fill the remaining vacancy soon.
The Bucs are scheduled to have Earnest Byner in on Tuesday for an interview for running backs coach, a colleague at the Washington Post tells me.
Byner joined the Redskins' staff in 2004 but was one of the franchise's most accomplished running backs during his playing career. The Post reports that Byner was offered a chance to return despite the Redskins' coaching search being incomplete. But Byner was tendered only a one-year contract, which seems to have prompted him to look for a better situation elsewhere.
The running backs job is open because Art Valero left for the St. Louis Rams, where it's expected he'll be an assistant head coach.

Hey guys,
Thought there were at least 2 spots left. Haven't heard who the Bucs tabbed as Asst. DB coach, as well as a replacement for Hackett's son.

that was a great, yet very disturbing article.
the Seattle Times is a great paper. great reporting and articles. i just read an article yesterday about Jerimiah Pharms. i guess it is part of a series of reports.check it out, go to the sports Home page and you will see the links...Rick Neuheisel is a real piece of work. after all this and his stint at CU, why would UCLA bring him on as HC?

NP Stephen. I just wasn't sure they had made some hires that I hadn't read about. You're usually one of the first places I check for updates. Enjoy your stuff.

Did notice that Washington RB's lead the league in fumbles last year, more than double the number of times the Bucs coughed it up. Hopefully EB doesn't bring that little stat with him if he's hired. LOL

Aaron, sick, pathetic, disgusting. It's a disgrace Stevens gets a penny from any any team. He sucks anyways.

That guy killed the Seahawks in the Super Bowl. He got punked by every Steeler on the field. He's a 6'7" sissy. Nobody in the league respects him, and nobody on his team respected him. But the Bucs will give him another chance.
The guy obviously got by with cheating in college because he hasn't said an intelligent thing in his life. He's a low life scumbag who is fortunate that there is football in this world.

I remember Byner from when he played at ECU. He was a heck of a running back for the Browns and later the Redskins. He was not real big, low to the ground, shifty with a nice burst and tough as nails.
A 10th round pick who retired the 16th highest rusher in NFL history in 1997. He has since been moved out of the top 20, but he was a real steal for the Browns.
A guy with that kind of determination is who you want coaching your RBs.
