Gruden's deal a lucrative one

This is mentioned in the main entry below detailing Jon Gruden's and Bruce Allen's contract extensions, but I thought this deserved its own headline.

Coaches' salaries have continued to skyrocket since Gruden signed his last contract, so you knew this one would be a whopper. Turns out, Gruden's year-to-year salary will be very similar to that of Titans coach Jeff Fisher, which puts Gruden among the highest-paid coaches in the NFL. Fisher, the league's longest-tenured coach with a single team, signed an extension in September that will pay him approximately $5.5-million to $6-million per year.

Now, Gruden can be added to a short list of coaches with eye-popping salaries. Others besides Fisher include Seattle's Mike Holmgren -- believed to be the league's highest-paid coach at $8-million in 2008 -- as well as Denver's Mike Shanahan and Carolina's John Fox, each reported to make more than $5-million annually.

Guess being an NFL coach is good work if you can get it.

Comments

Terrible, just terrible, that going 48-48 over 6 seasons with an offense that hasn't come close to cracking the top 10 in the league makes you one of the highest paid coaches.
Do their ball boys get a million per year?

DR -- you're listening to "Big Dog" too much. You fail to mention Super Bowl and three division titles while turning around a team that was old and crushed by a salary cap due to McKay. Gruden is not perfect, but he is one of the best coaches in the league -- the stats bear this out. But heck, you probably think that Gruden won the Super Bowl with Dungy's team, right?

I have been told that players deserve their tremendous salaries since football is a violent sport (injuries could end a career and they need to be compensated). There is some truth to that, although coaches can't make any sort of argument. One needs to look at Norv Turner to see a so-so offensive coordinator who failed as a coach, was given another chance but failed again, only to be given another kush job. Coaches don't risk physical injury. Their professional careers may have ups and downs, but they continue to go on. Why do we need to give them such a reward?

I don't hate Gruden (so I don't work for the Times), but $5.5 million in one year? That is too much!

Darren

he deserves the money because, plain and simple, he went to the University of Dayton. (Ohio) oh yeah, plus Cowher said no thanks.

There are no better canidates out there

AM? FM? What's that? Get sirius and you will never go back to that crap.
48-48 bears 5.5M? Jesus Christ, this is throwing money out the window man. Fire him, and sign anybody with NFL experience and take the difference and give it back to the fans. Gruden is the most overrated coach in football.

Nobody else out there? Are you kidding? Billick is available. There are OCs and DCs across the league that deserve a shot. Singletary. Schottenheimer. Heck, entice JJ out of the chair and bring him back to Florida. What about Barry Switzer, he's a genious because he won a Super Bowl with your guys logic. My dog is available as well. She watches football so she can coach.

vb, I didn't address it because I was laughing too hard but he rebuilt an old team with Galloway, Hilliard, and Garcia? What young talent do they have on offense? Clayton, Caddy, Alex Smith, Cook, all got worse after their rookie years under Gruden. It's like Gruden is a talent vampire and sucks out the college talent from his young players. Sears and Penn should wear garlic necklaces for the rest of their time with Gruden.

hey DR don't you have anything better to do. Your team must really be bad that you have to sit on here all day and put down the Bucs. Find something to do man

BREAKING NEWS - BUCS WIN SUPER BOWL !

AP / BPNN February 2, 2009

Yesterday, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers won Super Bowl XLIV by beating the San Diego Chargers 27-16. The victory capped a season where the Bucs went 11-5, won the NFC South title and had the NFL’s top rated defense. It was the Bucs fourth division title in seven years and second Super Bowl trophy. Jon Gruden now has six division titles and two Lombardi trophy’s in his still young (45) career. In a ceremony at Raymond James stadium, bay area sports talk show host Steve “Mad-Dog” Deumig on WDAE 620 (whoops – that’s “Big-Dog”) ran out onto the field yelling that “it was Gruden’s fault and it will always be Gruden fault – fire them all !”. It was not an unexpected occurrence and he was quickly restrained and taken out to a special structure that had been built for the occasion at the fifty-yard line.

As he was taken out and strapped down in the guliteen device at center field, he continued to scream “they need to bring back Rice, Sapp, Booger, Quarles and Alstott and if the Chargers hadn’t upset the Pat’s in the AFC Championship the Bucs would have lost to the Pat’s – trust me, I guarantee it ! – I’m telling you Gruden’s wrong and it’s a dirty trophy”.

At the release mechanism was former GM Rich McKay (who was out of work until offered the job) and just before letting the blade go Duemig was heard saying “Rich, I lied for you all those years, I told the fans you knew what you were doing in exchange for inside info – how can you do this to me !!!” and then the crowd cheered as the blade dropped and there was finally silence (thank god !).

Justin Pawlowski will take over the spot on WDAE 620 during the afternoons and the show will be renamed “Real Sports Talk”.

"Nobody else out there? Are you kidding? Billick is available"

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.........DR, you need to maybe look into liking another sport...perhaps Tennis...you are a complete moron

mkurbo,

AWESOME!

I could care less what he gets paid, it doesn't affect the Salary Cap. I don't care how he treats players, be it Brooks, Alstott, Barber, Quarles, I DON'T CARE!!! Bottom line is that players want to come here and play for this team, with it's Coach. Gruden and Allen are building a solid foundation here, with a few impact players, this team will be very good.

Sorry, Gruden isn't one of the best coach. He is a decent coach. His offense has not crack the top 10 since he is here. He always has many excuses when he lost. He is not consistent. It seems like he says one thing and does the other.

Coaches don't play football, players do. Tony isn't very smart with your DON'T CARE comment. How a coach treats his players is VERY important because the player play the game, you freaking moron. Without them Gruden is a nobody. Until he improves his people skill, he is NOT a good coach. But he the best option we have right now.

mkurbo, let me know what are you smoking, I want to try some of that. From your comment, it appears to be some good stuff. Let me know. I want to be in happy mood and positive all the time.

YoYo,
Show me 1 quote when Gruden has made an excuse....EVERY press conference in which the bucs lose, Gruden ALWAYS Puts the blame on himself....get your facts right.

Gruden can't hold Billick's jock, their stats prove it. Don't forget, Gruden in 6 seasons has 3 losing seasons, thats not a good coach.
John, come up with a stat or fact besides Kiffin loves Gruden, which isn't a stat or fact, that can somewhat prove your point. You need to go talk futbal, not football.
Who cares? What players come to Tampa to play for Gruden? Petigout, Garcia, and Stevens weren't wanted anywhere else. Petigout and Stevens teams are better without them. Garcia had a good season, but he is on his death bed. He's never lead a team past the second round.

I will say it again for you DR,

DR,

What difference does is make what the Bucs record is when they dont make the playoffs? If Gruden had been 7-9 last year and 7-9 in 2004 he would have a winning record in Tampa with the same amount of playoffs births.....SO please tell me you freakin indiot does it matter that he has a .500 record? I swear to god you make no sense your "facts" hold NO WATER! You want facts...here they are:

Fact-John Gruden career record 91-78(including playoffs)

Fact-Youngest coach to ever win the SB

Fact- Gruden in 46 on the ALL TIME HC Win list with a hell of alot more years left in him (ahead of BRIAN BILLICK,Dick Nolan,Norv Turner,Mike Martz,Art Shell, and AHHHHH yes Wade Phillips....just to name a few!

Fact- 3 division titles in 6 years...How many other current coaches can say that?

Fact- Gruden is 6 in all time wins amoung active coaches

Fact-Monte Kiffin in one of the best DC in NFL History and he loves Gruden

DR...you sir are a complete idiot....You have no clue. Getting rid of Gruden would have been a terrible mistake...Thankfully we have Great ownership

You have nothing man...I have shot down every single one of your arguments

DR,

How many current NFL Head coaches have 3 division championships and a SB in the last 6 years? How many DR? You are a fool...start watching golf and tennis

DR,

Here is another fact Gruden averages 10 wins a year for his career...Over rated my @$&!

All this comments are good. In my opinion, Gruden is not a good coach until he shows more consistencies, like winning season back to back. Also, division titles don't mean much without Super Bowl . I rather have Super Bowl appearance than division title, like the NY Giants about to do. If Gruden can string together several winning seasons in a row. Then he will become a GOOD coach.

John, you will hear what you want to hear for all the Gruden's press conferences. Injury is an excuse he often uses when the team loses. Injury is part of football and other teams overcame them and continued to win, i.e. NE Patriot. That's my take.

Again, Gruden is still the best option right now.

The man has never come out and said we lost this game bc of injury...ever

John, Gruden doesn't average 10 wins a season you moron. As Bucs coach, he's 48-48, that's 8-8 a season since you can't do the math. That's also with an inherited team winning a Super Bowl. Take that away and well, we'd be better off with Petrino as coach. Not sure why a SB win because of defense gets you a pass even though your offense has been horrible every year. How many coaches under Gruden have gone on to better jobs? How many under Billick? Billick had 3 losing seasons with the Ravens over 9 seasons, Gruden 3 losing seasons in 6 years.

DR-- The truth comes out you are a "Gruden won with Dungy's team" clone. Ridiculous. Even if you assume it was Dungy's team (please look at the free agent moves, the offensive production) then Gruden won with a team where Dungy could not. Does anyone remember all the losses to Philly on the road? What about the loss to the Rams -- the Bucs offense could not even score a touchdown.

Dr,

IN HIS CAREER Gruden averages 10 wins a season you idiot!

"That's also with an inherited team winning a Super Bowl".....HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH not worth a response.

"we'd be better off with Petrino as coach"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH please my sides are starting to hurt...another stupid comment...you are sinking DR!

The last time I checked it was the job of a HC to lead...mmmmmm lets see the TEAM...not just the offense...If you dont think the teams chemistry was a reflection on JOn Gruden just ask any player....you are delusional.

And its clear that you havent heard me the first 3 times...Gruden is AHEAD of Billick in the ALL-TIME wins list.

Again what is the difference between 7-7 and 4-12 DR? Answer: a worst draft choice.

If you are not in the playoffs..who the hell cares what your record is? So there goes your point there...you have none left....keep your floaties on DR!HAHAHAHAHAHAH

Again, it was spelled out for you, 91 total wins in 10 seasons is not 10 wins per season.
Dungy is 136-74 in 12 seasons, thats over 10 wins per season.
For homework, look up the word sarcasm.
Billick has coached less... idiot.

Billick has had 3 assistant coaches get head coaching jobs around the league. He has a coaching tree. Dungy has 4 coaches in the league. Gruden has nothing in 10 seasons.

Mike Tomlin Rod Marinelli, Kyle Shannahan, Bill Callahan, Joe Barry......Thats not a coaching tree? A cant argue with you anymore....you have no idea what you are talking about. And don't give me the well Tomlin, Marinelli, and Barry are defensive guys crap....again you fail to realize that it is job of HC to LEAD the entire football team, players, staff, trainers, equipment people....everyone...you fail to understand this and thats why you are an idiot. And here is another reality check ohh king of the window lickers....Gruden can average 9 wins a year for the next 10 years and still be in the 10 ALL TIME!....the final reality is this...Great owners of a professional football team agree with me...not you...

Fact- Gruden is 6th in wins amoung active coaches.

Fact- YOUNGEST to win a SB...if you say the "Dungy's team" thing one more time I will stop to enjoyment of this BC it will prove you are an utter idiot

Fact- One of 3 coaches in the league to win a SB and 3 division titles in 6 years.

Fact- Gruden DOES have a coaching tree, failure to see this is stupidity

John,
Please list the coaching tree from Gruden that you are referring.

Read my previous post

Tomlin? Giving Gruden credit for Tomlin? Haha, you're the idiot who knows nothing about football. Galzers are great owners?
Keep on saying division titles like it means something when you get your butt handed to you at home.
Who cares. Those other coaches with 3 division titles in the past 6 years don't have a dismal 48-48 record. They're far better than that. Like I said, the only Super Bowl coach Gruden can be compared to is Barry Switzer and Switzer was a better winner than he Gruden. And Switzer is a horrible coach.

Yes Mike Tomlin....Tomlin...he had such an influence with Kiffen that he kept the 3-4 in Pitt. Did Gruden have an impact on him? Yes you moron. Again I have already proven that your 48-48 record argument makes no sense. When you dont make the playoffs there is no difference between 4-12 or 7-9 or 6-10 or 8-8 for that matter...you have yet to give a response to that. You are a moron with no quality Buccaneer knowledge..you are a terrible judge of coaching quality...and for you to try and argue that the Glazer's are nor great owners is utter stupidity. You once again give grade school arguments and you lose.

There isn't a difference between 4-12 and 8-8? And you're calling me stupid? Wow. 4-12 means, as a coach, you couldn't beat anybody. 8-8 means you were close to the playoffs and have beaten half of your opponents. 4-12, usually means you have been outcoached, have no pride, and are clueless in what you are doing. 9-7 in a division where nobody else has a winning record isn't much to be proud of. A division title at 9-7 and wild card teams have better records is nothing to be proud of. It means you are lucky you're in a weak division.
Tomlin and Marinelli were both Buccaneers before Gruden and were under Dungy. They stayed with Kiffin and his great defense, not Gruden. Gruden had no choice whether he was going to keep Kiffin, he was told Kiffin was not going anywhere. Lovie Smith and Herm Edwards were as well. Get your facts straight moron.

I have a problem with facts? What "Facts" do you have that Tomlin and Merinelli stayed BC of Kiffim? NONE! Secondly Gruden chose to rest his starters the last 3 weeks of the season...which is totally another subject..Had he played those guys TB would have been 12-4 or 11-5....So you lose that argument....And YES..all going 8-8 does is gets you a worsedraft choice...and if you are trying to say that Gruden did not want Kiffin back just watch his last press Conference...get your facts strait idiot.....Dude you can't win this argument..you have already lost...just accept it....and you say division title mean nothing....WOW! Dude i am just starting to feel really sorry for you

My 6 year old nephew argues better than you. Now they rested their players 3 weeks. Garcia got pulled against the 49ers because teh O-line was getting killed, just like they did against the Giants. The Bucs only two wins against good teams were squeakers and you go on and sit your players who have done so well the last 2 weeks of the season. Wow, great job coaching Gruden. You have a bottom tier offense and decide to rest them, that makes a lot of sense. No surprise that they lost another home playoff game. At least Dungy lost on the road and not at home like Gruden. The Giants are in the Super Bowl and guess what, they didn't rest their players in the final meaningless game and yet, through injury, gained confidence and found their offensive ways. To think they were going to fire Coughlin, their thankful they didn't and Tiki's loser brother can cry watching his old team, that is better without him, cry about his mean coach in the Super Bowl.
Where is Gruden's young offensive players? Answer that you fool. Sucha great talent evaluator. Gruden is lucky the NFL hasn't adopted the NBA salary cap, which they should. Gruden couldn't pray/prey on free agency like he does now since he can't develop players in his horrible offense.

Gruden could not win in that situation...If he plays all his starters and Garcia, graham, or Galloway goes down...he gets killed in the media....If he rests them than they "lose momentum". You have failed in every part of this conversation....once again...you lose...The Glazers extended the man's contract. Conversation over!..What does DR stand for anyway..."Delusional Retard"

You are so right....going to the playoffs with a team with 14 players on IR and NO PRO BOWLERS...thats terrible coaching...you are so right! Is that enough sarcasm for ya moron!

Keep ignoring the fact that every rookie offensive player in Gruden's system has failed and gotten worse in progression.
Wow- IR, what big name players did he lose? None. If anything, the right man who earned a starting job was found through IR. EG is a much better RB than Caddy.
Green Bay- 13 players on IR.
Indy- 10 IR, Marvin Harrison really was an IR player as well. Freeney was a HUGE loss, bigger than all 14 of the Bucs combined.
Jacksonville- 14 players on IR. Big losses on DE. JAX HAD NO PRO BOWLERS EITHER! JAX beat the Bucs with a 3rd string QB who never played NFL football before.
NY Giants- 13 players on IR.
Washington- 13 IR players + 1 deceased player- All Pro.
Tennessee- 12 IR players
These teams made the playoffs as well and some went way farther than the Bucs. Their injuries were worse in some cases.
Many other teams were decimated by injuries. It is called football.
What's your point girl scout? You got none!
The only delusional retards out there are the Glazers who are over paying an under achiever and the fans who give their blinding support.
You still have failed to provide an argument about why Gruden has drafted no young talent for his offense. Clayton is a joke and Caddy should have lost his job last year. He may still have a knee if he did.

DR,

I know this is not my arguement but dude, you are truly a joke! That's all, I just wanted to say you are a joke.

Dr,

If you think Gruden did not do a good job of coaching this year are are INSANE!!! I would love to see how many people on this blog feels that Gruden Sucked this year. You have said Gruden does not have a coaching tree...you are wrong...you say his win loss record sucks..you are wrong....His players love him, as do his coaches. You have yet to make on valid argument....A HC has one simple job...put together a team to win games...You cannot argue that he has Done that throughout his career..Has he had some bad years? Yes....every coach does....Dungy missed the playoffs in 1998...lost playoffs games in 2000 and 2001 with LOADED Squads...Look I love Dungy..I was pissed when they fired him. The Same goes for Gruden...Every NFL anaylist disagrees with you on whether or not Gruden is a good coach...period.....again..you lose.

Do us a favor head on over to the cowgirls website and tell everyone how great Wade Phillips is...When was the last Cowboys post season victoy? I'd bet you are from this area and have been the typical bandwagoner...sad sad sad

By the way Billicks "coaching tree" ALL defensive guys.....Who has Brian Billick developed? you are such an idiot!

Dungy missed the playoffs one time. He lost a close game to arguably, the best offense ever to play football, and they shut them down except for a great pass and great catch that no defense can stop period. Dungy's bad year was 8-8, not 4-12.
Who are these analysts? They aren't even allowed to talk bad like they want to. If you listen to the radio, there are a lot of critics of Gruden. Why do you think Ronde Barber has to defend him on his show? These same analysts say Scott Linehan is a good coach after two bad years.
You're right, Billick hasn't produced anybody in his offense and guess what? He's fired.
If you couldn't see a problem with the FACT that Gruden's Super Bowl team, if you want to give him credit for it, went 7-9 the very next season with the same team, same offense. He couldn't handle his personnel, they weren't happy with him. His offense has sucked ever since his first year. He hasn't even come close to having the same type of seasons that Dungy has had prior to the Super Bowl. Dungy lost to a great team twice IN Philly, who had a top 3 defense and it came down to offense. The Bucs defense forced HUGE turnovers against the Eagles in that Championship game like they did all season.
Yeah, Dungy's offense was bad but was getting better. He did bring in Johnson & Johnson to the team, the KEY piece to the offense, that made it work, a go to WR which the Bucs never had since Key's departure. You can't run a west coast offense without a go to guy. The Eagles learned that.
Your facts make me laugh. The coaches love Gruden, the players love Gruden. Yeah, those are facts-HAHAHAHAHAHA.
A 5 year old girl can say that and call those facts.
You still haven't answered my question. What young talent has Gruden brought up? You answered it with a fired coach, thanks for proving my point.

Dr,

Since its pretty clear that you never finished HS I will give you my FACTS AGAIN

Fact- Gruden is 6th in wins amoung active coaches.

Fact- YOUNGEST to win a SB

Fact- One of 3 coaches in the league to win a SB and 3 division titles in 6 years.

Fact- Gruden DOES have a coaching tree, failure to see this is stupidity

Fact- Gruden is on pace to be 10th ALL TIME in Wins

Your Biran Billick Argument is a JOKE....Never developed talent.....All his "coaching Tree" is defensive guys.

You make no point when you talk good about Dungy...I Love Dungy...BC you don't read so well I will say again that I was angry when they fired him....This argument is about Gruden, NOT TONY DUNGY....You believe Gruden is a bad coach....I have already proved you are wrong..Game over...Last time I checked Carnell Williams won R.O.Y. Was injured the following year, and injured again this year...NO YOUNG TALENT...your so right! Dude Tampa Bay has one of the BEST YOUNG OL in the NFL! Are you going to say Davin Joseph and Aaron Sears suck? If so, just go and play in traffic. so sorry "Dulusional retard", but you lose again!

By the way....when was the last time the Cowboys won a playoffs game? You have enough concerns with your team......Bandwagoner!

DR,
You sit there and say Jon Gruden is overrated why? Because real fans and people with real football knowledge actually acknowledge the fact that his team made the biggest turn around from last year to this year. I guess that means nothing to you critics(idiots). Tell me something DR can you explain the turn around? Oh and dont tell me luck, you would just be proving your lack of knowledge and/or common sense. Face it no team that picked in the top five of last years draft made the playoffs. So genius how do you explain the turnaround?

The Super Bowl was 6 years ago, which was the last time Gruden won a playoff game. If you guys want to keep putting in the Bucs 2002 season DVD and pretend it was this year, there is nothing anybody can do for you. You guys think Gruden won 6 Super Bowls in a row.
What about their turn around? You ignore the opposite turn around the year before, 11-5 to 4-12. What about that turnaround?
No Super Bowl winning coach has a worse record than Gruden in their following 3,4, and 5 years. Explain that genious? Explain why Gruden is 36-46 since his Super Bowl. 36-46 since a Super Bowl is overrated. Hey 36-46 sounds like 5.5M to me. Oh wait, he was young when he won, like that means anything. Another 5 year old fact. Color inside the lines.
To say Sears and Penn are the best rookie linemen in the league is TRULY ABSURD!!! YOU'RE A F'N MORON!!!! JOE THOMAS is easily already a the top 10, even Top 5 linemen in the league and he was robbed of the ROY award. A rookie LT was the main reason the Browns won 10 games AND DIDN'T make the Playoffs. 10-6 didn't make the playoffs. The Bucs 9-7 record was the worst division winning record in the league.
If Joseph and Sears follow the other rookies in Gruden's past, their best season is already behind them. Blaming injury for Caddy's lack of production is weak. Don't play the game then. LT took himself out of a Championship game because he was hurt.
Caddy's best 4 games was his first 4, and he has been terrible ever since. He catch the ball either. Ronnie Brown has proven he is a way better RB.
A coaching tree is when a coach brings in his guys and develops them into something. Gruden hasn't done that. Those guys were here before he got here.
Man, you guys are F'n retarded.

I have been watching these responses. I have not been the biggest Gruden Supporter, but I have to say John has made the much better arguments. Dr you just seem angry but don't make many valid points. who is out there that the Bucs could get that would be better than Gruden?

DR,

Who the hell mentioned Penn? and by the Way Joseph will already be entering his 3rd year MORON! Are you seriously trying to say Sears is not a Stud LG? You are more retarted than I thought! Gruden Drafted A RB that won ROY...his injuries are ABSOLUTLY REVALEVANT! To say anything else is PURE STUPIDITY! You cannot tell how well he would have done had he not been injured this year. Or are you furtune teller now? MEET THE PROFIT FROM THE ULTIMATE BLOG BANDWAGONERS CLUB!!!!

Mike Tomlin spend 1 year under DUNGY 4 Under GRUDEN.

Joe Barry spent 5 years under Gruden

Gruden brought in Kyle Shannahan...he is now the offensive coordinator for the Texans....again your an idiot.

And you failed to respond to the fact the he is on pace to be 10th ALL TIME!!! over rated my a$%

WHEN DID THE COWBOYS LAST WIN IN THE PLAYOFFS? Did they not get SPANKED AT HOME THIS YEAR??!! Dalles is the most over rated team in ALL OF FOOTBALL!

Yeah, Dallas got spanked at home. hahahahahahahahahaha. I expected a retarded statement from you, though. The Cowboys got spanked and let me guess, the Bucs barely loss because of some magical reason again, ha?
Injuries aren't revelant when you play the game. If you use injuries as an excuse for poor performance than you shouldn't be on the field. Its that simple. So if your saying that Caddy was hurt when he was putting up bad numbers, than he is even more of a piece of crap for putting himself before the team. Gruden wouldn't let that happen, would he?
You call me a fortune teller and yet you predict that Gruden is on pace to be 10th all time. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! Man, you're a retard.
You try to prove a point and then insert your own foot in your mouth. Oh yeah, you're retarded, i'm sorry.
Again, you live in the past. Let's talk relevat history, like the last 4 years. Gruden is 29-37. That's not the least bit impressive.
Giants outplayed the Cowboys. It showed, but you don't see me making every excuse why their a great team. They choked. Again, simple. They lost to a team they beat twice this year. that's choking. Their best WR, TO, was only 70% but thats not an excuse. I'd rather have TO at 70% than all of the Bucs WRs combined. Maybe TO will play for the Bucs in 2011 because Gruden is signed until then and TO will be in his 40's needing a job and gruden will give him one just like he has to every other trash and washed up player in the league. But thats what the fans want, right? Gruden is a genious with all his free agent pick ups and trades. Petigout, Stevens, Sims, Bennett, Boston were all great pick ups that helped.

Here is aquote from your boy Jimmy Johnson:

"This might be the best coaching job done to date by Jon Gruden."

Both PTI guys said the Gruden extenion was a great idea....These people are paid to give their opinion...and they agree with me...not you...I dont expect you to undertand this concept BC you clearly have no education. You have once again made an idiot of yourself BC I never said I PREDICT Gruden to be 10th all time...I said he was on pace for it....again your retared! If you think that Caddy getting hurt is not a factor...All I can say is that you are the most retarded person I have ever even heard of and I just feel sorry for you. you say talk about recent history...OK you just proved MY POINT...MOST RECENT HISTORY: Tampa Bay went worst to First...a 5 game improvement on 2007! are you really that dumb..please tell me you have something better...dude I have shot down every one of your arguments....you must love getting humiliated....Its like fighting with a 3rd grader....oh wait thats probably as far as you got in school...maybe that was a low blow...you are pathetic.

You haven't shot down any of my points at all. Worst to first to worst to first, thats a really good coaching trend to have. He's up there with the elite coaches who go to the playoffs consecutively, and don't have 10+ losses in a season. Worst to first would be impressive 10 years ago, and if it hasn't happened 5 years in a row in the same weak division. When is the last time 3 teams came out of the South 2 years in a row? Oh, it never happened.
The Big Dog Steve Duemig and these writers also get paid for their opinions. You obviously haven't listened to the satellite radio having to defend Gruden about his worthiness.
You discount Dungy's record because he didn't win a Super Bowl with the Bucs but count Gruden's record with the Raiders as if it was with the Bucs. You dog Dungy about playoff losses to the Rams, perhaps the greatest offensive team ever, and the Eagles but ignore everything that has to do with the Bucs about Gruden. Gruden is 48-48 as a Bucs coach and hasn't won a playoff game in 6 years. The only 2 losses being at home after a "great" turn around. Take away his Super Bowl year and he is 36-44. That's just terrible. His record, his terrible offensive ratings, they speak for themselves. You'll be begging for a new coach next year. He's going to need every penny of that cap money to save whatever dignity he has left. The Glazers know soccer, but sure don't know football.
You're calling me a 3rd grader with the many thousand spelling and grammar errors you have made in this blog alone? HAHA
I feel so guilty laughing at a retard like you.

Why doesn't everyone simply ignore DR and he will probably start annoying Dolphin or Jaguar fans. He is too bitter about something

Dr you are a fool. Gruden has a new deal. Just let it go.
