Petitgout wants his shot at the Giants
Offensive tackle Luke Petitgout spent his first eight seasons with the Giants, so this weekend's matchup is sort of personal for the veteran.
Unfortunately for him, he won't be able to suit up after suffering a season-ending knee injury in September. Given his unceremonious departure from the Meadowlands and some of the criticism leveled since (by general manager Jerry Reese), Petitgout wishes more than anything he could play on Sunday.
"The way I went out back there wasn’t the way I thought I would," he said. "The things that were said regarding me by Jerry Reese on the eve of training camp certainly stick with me. Some day, I’ll get even. Just not this Sunday."
Asked about the reasons for the Giants decision not to re-sign him after the 2006 season, Petitgout said: "Anytime you get kicked out of a team, you have some hard feelings. You just use it as a motivation. That’s all you can do. . . I was never given a real reason. I’ve heard that (coach) Tom (Coughlin) wanted to keep me and it was Jerry’s decision, but you’d have to ask them. I was never given an answer."

Well...he was pretty good for us until he caught caught up in the pile...so I think the GIANTS messed up and let him go to soon. Our BUCS have made a wise choice getting him here. Actually the BUCCANEERS have been making alot of wise choices here lately..GO BUCS!!!

Thank goodness you have him and not us. The knock on him here was that he got injured too much. Hmm, what a coincidence.
