Galloway had shoulder surgery

Bucs receiver Joey Galloway underwent successful surgery Wednesday to repair his shoulder injury, according to general manager Bruce Allen.

Galloway was ineffective in the Bucs'  24-14 loss to the New York Giants in the NFC wildcard game, catching just one pass before being forced to leave the game late in the fourth quarter.

Allen, who would not provide details of the injury, said the surgery will not prevent Galloway from participating in the off-season workout program which begins in March.

"I know what it is, but I won't give it to you,'' Allen said. "He should be fine.''

Allen said Galloway believed the injury wouldn't require surgery.

"Joey thought he could work out in the weeks after that game, but he was still having some pain with it,'' Allen said. "So he got it re-analyzed and thought the best thing to do was to just go (have surgery).''

EVEN THOUGH GALLOWAY IS STILL A BURNER WE NEED TO SEARCH FOR A SPEEDY W.R.THAT WILL COMPLEMENT CLAYTON.IM SURE THE TWO GET ALONG GREAT BUT WHEN YOU SEE HOW THE YOUNG O-LINE IS A TIGHT NET GROUP GRUDEN NEEDS TO THE SAME WITH THE W.R.CORE.BESIDE HOW LONG DOES GALLOWAY REALLY HAVE LEFT?

He should have left for the surgery at halftime of the playoff game...Galloway should NOT have been on the field for the Giant game...he was obviously in distress from the get go, made very little effort to run his routes, or go after the balls thrown to him..and since he was on the field, and not effective, why did Gruden abandon the running game??

Skylar

let it go ryan. obviously, this Giants team is one of destiny. the better team won that day. be happy we are becoming competitive again after a couple of rough years with no draft picks or money. gruden's credentials speak for themself.

Man, Kristian - the caps lock is on the middle left, please learn how to turn it OFF.

Unless that is you want ALL of your comments IGNORED.

Listen, I love Galloway. He's the first real deep threat the Bucs have ever had, and that's something.
That said, I have yet to see him EVER fight for a ball, or even slightly adjust his route for ones that aren't perfectly thrown. Sometimes he won't even reach out for a ball that's a step away, which I just don't get. I guess he's protecting his body, but it's frustrating sometimes.
