Dunn begins visit with the Bucs
Warrick Dunn could be a Buccaneer again very soon.
Just hours after being released by the Atlanta Falcons, the 33-year-old running back began his official vist with the Bucs, according to agent Jim Steiner.
Dunn will meet with coach Jon Gruden and general manager Bruce Allen. Dunn was in Tampa on Saturday for the Mike Alstott retirement party. He still owns a house in Tampa, and whether by preference or geography, his first visit is with the Bucs.
Dunn also has received interest from the Denver Broncos, Houston Texans, Dallas Cowboys and the Indianapolis Colts.
But the Bucs are hoping that Dunn will decide not to make trips to those other NFL cities.
One of the most popular and productive players in Falcons history, Dunn began his career as a first-round draft pick by the Bucs in 1997. He has more than 10,000 career rushing yards and 62 touchdowns.
But because he split time at running back with Alstott in the early part of his career, he still has some tread on his tires.
Gruden has always believed Dunn would be a good fit in the Bucs offense and lamented his decision to sign with the Falcons as a free agent in 2002. That decision cost Dunn as well. He wasn't able to be a part of the Bucs' Super Bowl XXXVII championship team.
Dunn would provide a good compliment to running back Earnest Graham because of his ability as a receiver and his speed to make game-breaking plays.

Let's make sure we keep him in Tampa for the remainder of his career.

Do something, we have all this money and arent spending anything, letting everyone go elsewhere. crumpler to titans, briggs back to chigaco, stallworth to browns, berrian to vikings, and the list goes on. Need to try and trade for deangelo hall or lito shepard to fill the vacancy by kelly or resign him to a cheap contract. then sign javon walker, or bryant johnson, bryants good but couldnt shine to much in arizona with fitzgerald, and boldin. or what about trading for chad johnson, i just dont want to give up too much but at the same time we need a wr, and its not a guarantee deshaun jackson will fall to us in the draft. Also, wheres david boston, we cut him last year after all the coachs said they were happpy with how he was doing and said he had his speed back. well if that was the case then bring him back and give him another shot to make the team, it cant hurt and we could prolly sign him for cheap. Then on defense, whats going on with coleman, kearse, or we could resign carter. We need to start doing something, all this money wont spend itself.

DanW is correct. Lets try and upgrade, maybe invite Odom after he is through in Minn. What happened to Troupe? These guys are professionals, they are not on a college tour, if they pay you a visit, that is telling you something, PAY THEM!!!! How about hooking up Pittman while your at it, he is deserving of retiring as a Buc. What happened to Johnson from Arizona, lets send Glazers plane for him and spend some more, how about Jabar Gafney, nice reciever who can actually catch the ball(By Mike). And what is the deal with getting Griese back from the Bears? This can only be considered a good deal if they cut Garbagekowski, worst QB EVER!!!!

I already told you. I'm saving my money to build Manchester United new facilities. Besides, at least THEY are a REAL FOOTBALL TEAM.

BRING BACK DUNN BEFORE HE LEAVES AGAIN... THIS REALLY IS THE GLAZERS ( AND ALLEN'S ) LAST CHANCE TO KEEP THE REAL FANS GOING TO THE GAMES. DAN AND MADDOG ARE RIGHT, THE MONEY WON'T SPEND ITSELF AND THEY NEED TO SIGN OR TRADE FOR A GUY THAT WILL MAKE A HUGE DIFFERENCE ON AND OFF THE FIELD. AND WITH DUNN BEING THE MOST GIVING GUY IN THE WORLD OF SPORTS, HE WOULD BE A PERFECT FIT. I BELIEVE THE TANK ISN'T ON E JUST YET FOR WARRICK

I'd rather see y'all sign He-Hate-Me from the XFL.

Don't worry guys. I'm going to trade for chad johnson, larry fitzgerald, and lito shepard while you guys are asleep tonight. Sorry for getting everyone worked up about not spending our money. I suppose you have gotten used to my inability to bring in game-changing players.

Vote for me! Oh, if I lose, can I play CB for y'all?

Here is a little irony for ya. Arthur Blank is apparently concerned with the conduct of his players and their morals. So what do they do? Release the most upstanding player on the team. And what about the fact that a new GM came to the team released the two most popular guys on the team in Crumpler and Dunn. Sound familiar?

Hey at least we can be happy they signed that linebacker, Average Joe.

Ya'all are just naming the names... who knew White before last year? Briggs?!? we have Brooks and June - do we need 3 WLBs? Why over pay for these middle of the row guys? Let the market start making sense again then we'll get the people without hindering our future. Walker would be nice but do you trust his body will hold up 20 plus games? I dunno... Fitzgerld would cost way too much in a WR deep draft. Hall would be locker room poison and didn't we just get over not having a bunch of 1st and 2nd picks. I'ld love to see Dunn back - must be alot of gators posting around here...

WR WALKER IS OFF THE TABLE. SO MUCH FOR ANY HELP AT WR, THE SPLASH PLAYERS HAVE BEEN REWARDED WITH TEAMS THAT SEEM INTERESTED IN SCORING POINTS. WAS REALLY HOPING THE OWNERS WOULD GIVE US FANS SOMETHING TO LOOK FORWARD TO THIS YEAR. IT'S LIKE THEY'RE FINE WITH MEDIOCRITY!

Aaron, though it might be true that this is a WR deep draft, remember that the Bucs SUCK at developing young skill position players.

This just in: The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have recently informed NFL Commisioner Roger Goodell that they plan to revolutionize the future landscape of NFL playbooks league-wide. The plan involves implementing a completely new offensive philosophy, in which the team will field an offense made up entirely of quarterbacks. This new wrinkle, combined with the masturful wizardry known as "Jon Grudens' Play Calling", will stifle and confuse even the most accomplished NFL defensive minds. Bucs Defensive Coordinator Monte Kiffen, after meeting with Gruden this afternoon, has released the following statement: "Jeez! I don't know what to say... that playbook makes me feel about as intelligent as John Madden sounds on TV!!!". Roger Goodell could not be reached for comment, however Gruden plans to release more info at a press conference to be held tomorrow at 10am Eastern.
