Dunn visiting the Bucs today

Warrick Dunn could be a Buccaneer again very soon.

Just hours after being released by the Atlanta Falcons Monday, Dunn began his official visit with the Bucs, according to agent Jim Steiner.

YAY!!! Another over priced aging veteran player who will set the team back even further in its quest to develop young talent!!! And I thought Rich McKay was a bad GM...

We don't need an over-the-hill RB. Dunn is declining big time. He average just 3.1 runs per run last year. That's pathetic. Warrick is a great guy, but we don't need him.

Why did Bruce Allen clear all this cap space if we aren't going to sign any big free agents? The team needs a playmaker, but we let all the good free agents sign with other teams.

Are the Glazers too focused on Manchester United to spend on the Bucs?

Hes not over priced because he will barely get above the league minimum. Not a blockbuster move but at this point I'll take anything that shows the bucs are showing some signs of life in the free agency

Cheap insurence, proven leader, class act, it's a shame we can't say that about some of our fans. You know the ones, the GM's out there that talk and second guess, but have never been in a position to make a decission, but have more knowledge then the folks at Buc headquarters that have spent a lifetime trying to improve our club. Maybe we should dump our leadership, and hire them to spend, spend , spend without regard to the outcome, just spend and sign guys that want millions and millions, then we can justify an additional hike in ticket prices. You guys are great laughs !!! Keep it up, we need more comics in this world

Trust me, outside of Moss, Samuel, and (still unproven as a starter) Michael Turner, there were and are no Free Agents out there worth the big bucks. Do you want to be the big winner in March...or in the playoffs?

There's still achance to grab up some of the better FAs out there. Guys like [alphabetically] RB Tatum & SS Yeremiah Bell, CB Fernando Bryant (he's old but good), LB Brandon Chillar, CB Travis Fisher, WR Jabar Gaffney, WR DJ Hackett, LB Landon Johnson, TE Eric Johnson, WR Bryant Johnson, RB Julius Jones, DE Travis LaBoy, DE Antwan Odom (Younger and better than Justin Smith for a 4-3 defense, if you ask me), DE Darrion Scott, DL Antonio Smith, OT Max Starks, DT Larry Tripplett, WR Javon Walker, OT Mo Williams and SS Eugene Wilson.

Maybe I've missed where somebody here has already signed somewhere else, but if we can get two or three of THESE guys, it'll have been a great haul for us without busting the future salary cap.

I also wanted to point out that if you lavish huge contracts on a bunch of hack players, you create jealousy in the locker room among all the other players who might feel like now THEY TOO deserve more money.

They've got a pretty close-knit team right now. I wouldn't want to screw that up just to LOOK like they're trying.

great take SH ... most of these ham & eggers in here wouldn't know how important the dynamics of a lockerroom are
the guy is a quality individual who will be a good add for whoever gets him ... and the bucs oline is going to make some RBs look REAL good

Dunn is past his prime. A good backup RB can be had in the draft.

Maybe Allen can hit up some of the old folks homes here in Tampa and do some scouting... this can be the most geriatric team ever!

Baaaad buc... lets see how far Dunn's sportsmanship get him behind this O line / WR/TE combo. Nobody is afraid of the Bucs passing game, so the RB's get stuffed. Wow we get Dunn. Whoopdefreakindoo. It'll end up like the Garner signing, guaranteed.

eric, you are so wrong.you are just like the rest of the bandwagon jumpers.you only support the bucs if they are above 500. you want the bucs to spend all the money, so we will be in cap hell in a few years.every one is a general manager.....

Rich, I'm not wrong. Nor am I a bandwagon jumper. This is simply a bad idea. There isnt one wide reciever on this team who teams are scared of. Not even Galloway. All you have to do is jam him and keep up with him, which most defenses have been able to do. No RB will fix the fact that there is no passing game here. But I guess you think signing Berrian or Stallworth couldnt possibly fix that. This team hasnt had success in the passing game since Keyshawn Johnson left... nobody ever replaced his role as the guy who catches everything thrown in traffic or off target. Being 40+ million under the cap is simply the same as not utilizing all your resources to field a championship quality product. You been told.

Oh the beauty of blogs. Any idiot can speak his mind, even if it is as bad as his breath. Theres no reasoning with the toothless who post here, just let them finger the keyboard like a monkey with one hand, while the other is down their shorts fingering something else. quite hilarious and entertaining actually.

oh yeah? well..... YOUR MOM!

MMMMMMMM...... HOT DOGS!

can't we all just get along. no really, dunn will be used like micheal westbrook. it looks bad right now because of his age.but his team was a mess.they had no qb and def's were dareing them to throw. i dought anybody could of run on that team last year

Remember, in the kingdom of the blind, the blind man is king.

Love it! Bring him back!!!! Why the hatred? I understand the bad words towards Gruden and Allen; but Dunn? This is a guy who has built hundreds of homes in the bay area. Oh, and by the way, he's a fantastic competitor. If you base his value on last year's production you underestimate the man. Any Buccaneer fan worth a salt wants to see Dunn in pewter and red again. Get the deal done Allen!

Dunn is a very versatile player, and I can see him used much more effectively under Gruden's offense than under Dungy. He can be used as a wideout, on dump-off's and screen plays, and as a change of pace third down back in a power running game. I still say we take a running back in a draft, but we've got space. It would be nice to get Dunn back in the huddle, for both his impact on the field and his ability to set an example as a team player.

I love it. I don't see any chance that we will spend big money on Dunn, we didn't when he went to the ATL to begin with. So if he falls to us at a good price, I think it's great. I mean, we could always hope to get Stecker, right?

Stecker re-signed bro.

The reason we made the playoffs last year was because we made a smart decision and signed Jeff Garcia, the best free agent QB available, and Cato June, the 2nd best OLB available. We spent some money. This year, we've got $44 million (!!!) in cap space. We could have signed one or two of the best players available (like Randy Moss), but instead we're getting bums like Jimmy Wilkerson, John Gilmore, and Brian Griese. It makes you wonder whether the Glazers are being cheap because they'd rather spend the money on Manchester United instead of the Bucs. This team is very close to being a title contender, but we've done nothing this offseason to improve. I have faith in Gruden and Bruce Allen (he's done an amazing job to clear all that cap space), I'm just not sure about the Glazer's commitment to the team at this point. It was bad enough when we started last season $16 million under the cap, but this season we're not even at the minimum cap number.

Buc fans are so stupid

Hey Bucsman... Cato June wasn't signed until two weeks into free agency last year. Give it time. They'll be plenty of room on the bandwagon for you come January...

What? Charlie Garner wasn't available? Errict Rhett?

Youz guyz are freakin idiots man! Imma gunna wait a few weeks to see what happens? By then the ony players available will be bums like Leon Joe, or maybe a Brian Greasy or a Warrick Dunn. What happened to tryin to get to da Super Bowl?

mmmm....... I love hot dogs!

This just in: The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have recently informed NFL Commisioner Roger Goodell that they plan to revolutionize the future landscape of NFL playbooks league-wide. The plan involves implementing a completely new offensive philosophy, in which the team will field an offense made up entirely of quarterbacks. This new wrinkle, combined with the masturful wizardry known as "Jon Grudens' Play Calling", will stifle and confuse even the most accomplished NFL defensive minds. Bucs Defensive Coordinator Monte Kiffen, after meeting with Gruden this afternoon, has released the following statement: "Jeez! I don't know what to say... that playbook makes me feel about as intelligent as John Madden sounds on TV!!!". Roger Goodell could not be reached for comment, however Gruden plans to release more info at a press conference to be held tomorrow at 10am Eastern.
