Former Gator Troupe to join Bucs

Titans free agent tight end Ben Troupe has reportedly agreed to terms on a two-year contract with the Bucs.

Troupe was one of many players who visited One Buc Place during the first two days of the free agent signing period. With the Bucs losing Anthony Becht and still undecided on bringing back Jerramy Stevens, depth at tight end was certainly a concern.

Troupe joins Alex Smith and new addition John Gilmore, a free agent from the Bears, in the Bucs' tight end corps.

The former Florida Gator hasn't been active in Tennessee's passing game the past two seasons, catching 18 passes in his past 26 games. But in his first two seasons, Troupe was quite productive as a receiver, catching 88 passes for 859 yards and five touchdowns.

We've also heard that cornerback Sammy Davis has agreed to re-sign, giving the Bucs some insurance in a secondary that remains thin. Don't think that means the Bucs still won't attempt to upgrade at cornerback in free agency or in the draft.

Good pickup by the Bucs. I really have to commend them for playing free agency smart by not overpaying for mediocre talent and using the cap space to lock in the young players that will make up the core of the team. Its better to sign these talented guys now to long term deals instead of waiting until they become a UFA and cost a fortune. I also like the infusion of younger talent into the team. Just think our team was one of the oldest in the NFL and in 2008 it will be one of the youngest. We really need more CB talent and a breakout receiver and we will be fine.

Here's hoping that Troupe figures out how to stay on the field and catch passes. Living here in Nashville and watching him in person on a weekly basis, I hope no one there views him as more than a reasonable gamble. The Titans had high hopes for him when they drafted him, unfortunately, he's never been consistent enough to consider building a TE passing game around him. Here's hoping that he takes advantage of this second chance.

Chris, are you sure your name isn't Jeff Kamis? That was a beautiful spin on things...You're forgetting that season ticket renewals are tomorrow and what better way to show the fans you mean business than to sign less than quality free agents. Check next year's schedule...it's brutal. They're lucky if they win 6 or 7 games. Where are the impact players? You're not gonna draft anyone at 20 who will make a big impact in 2008

Tuol........my name isn't Jeff Kamis. Let's remember that great teams are built mostly through the draft with free agency to fill immediate voids. Yes, their schedule MIGHT be brutal next year based on opponents' 2007 win/loss record, but look at how quickly teams go from 10-6 to 4-12. So in essence they may have a weaker schedule than anticipated. I think they are making good solid additions to their roster systematically instead of signing some big name that may be a star in one system, but may not make any impact in their system. There are a lot of guys out there who are better than some of the best players in the game who never make it either because they weren't given the chance, were in the wrong system, or by circumstance. And to say that anyone at 20 will not make a big impact??? Who is drafting 20 yr olds besides Okoye anyways? Most players are 21 or 22 (juniors and seniors.) And he may have been 21 last year, but I think Adrian Peterson made a LITTLE bit of a difference for the Vikings last year. Look at all of the Giants draft picks that played a part in their Championship didn't they make a difference too?

Hey Chris, really agree with both your comments, however I think TT was talking about the Bucs picking at #20, not the player's age. :) I like what the Bucs have done so far as well, & they aren't done yet.

And you can DEFINITELY get an impact guy at number 20, especially with the WR & CB depth in this draft.

Hey Tuol,

Try doing some research before you make such idiotic comments. Dwayne Bowe was drafted #23 last year and had almost 1,000 receiving yds. As for 2006, Laurence Maroney was drafted #21 and had approx. 700 yds and 6 TDs. Santonio Holmes had 800 yds and was drafted #25 and let's not forget Joseph Addai's impact as a rookie and he was drafted #30. But hey, why let facts distort your argument?

Most of you guys never look past the season coming up. What about 2009, 2010, and the seasons beyond that? One of the biggest mistakes teams can make is to believe that they are one or two free agent signings away from next years Super Bowl. So what they do is they give big bucks to the most familiar name out there, who may not be all that, and by the way, if he is all that how come his former team let him get away? I would love for the Bucs to win the Super Bowl this year, but I don’t want to see them use all their cap money for one shot at glory. Sounds familiar, a little déjà vu creeping in. Hmmm? Build a team with an enduring ability to win multiple Super Bowls, that's my take!

The Buc's are doing the right things this year in free agency and I think they are on track to being successful in the future. I agree with you Chris 100% that we are not over spending on some of these FA and making offers to them while they walk away for the big pay days. Let's spend that money on our young guys we have now to stablize our future. It worked with Lynch, Sapp, Brooks, Barber, Quarels, Kelly and Alstott so let's start on building our next great team. They have a plan and us as fans need to stop critcizing the management for what they have planned. We are on the outside looking in and also playing Monday morning quarterback every chance we can get. I was like everyone else sad to see Dungy leave and excited that Gruden came. It's amazing to see everyone wanting to run him out of town, for what? Let's be fans and let the management do what they do. We must all remember the past when we never won, so who cares if we have one losing season. We've had way more losing seasons then winning season an still supported them. Now we need to show them the support even when we have a off year. We made the playoffs last year and have a good shot at going deeper this year with the right choices we have been making.

Tuol's right, we'll be lucky to win 6-7 games next season. And if anybody wants to tell me how this team's going anywhere fast I'd love to hear it. The defenses secondary is thin, our pass rush is far from intimidating, and our only deep thret is a 36 year old Galloway with a bad shoulder. Sure it's idiotic to pay Javon Walker $50 million but wake up people, you can't just address everything in the draft!

Hey Kipp, what if we drafted like this . . .

1st round - Limas Sweed/DeSean Jackson/Malcom Kelly
(pretty good recievers)

2nd round - Trevor Laws/Dre Moore
(adding to the pass rush)

3rd round - Brandon Flowers/Charles Godfrey
(deepen the secondary)

with this I'd be pretty happy and granted there are no sure things when it comes to rookies but I feel like this is a reasonable draft that I've proposed which could potentially fill some of our biggest holes . . . through the draft. Go Bucs!

-GJ

Fair signing...is all I can say for now. I am neutral in the way Tampa have been going about free agency. We need an impact wide receiver BAD, I do not think this can be address effectively in the draft. I am all for the future and it is bright with Gaines, Cato, Rudd and Tanard...but Garcia has only a couple of good years left and nobody to take over. I say throw a second rounder and maybe a three to Cincy for 85. That and draft Rodgers-Cromartie (very underrated, guy is a playmaker) with #20 and I say we will be holding the Lombardi trophy in front of the home crowd at Raymond James!

Kipp, I'd love to be the first to tell you exactly why we are going to win more than 7 games next season. First of all, I just want to say you are a moron. Now, let's get to reasoning. The Bucs are going to have a very good, young and aggressive offensive line; you know the guys that make everthing else work on offense. Therefore, Graham will have approx. 12 to 16 hundred yards rushing and our passing game will be better (considering Garcia will be in his second year with 3rd consecutive year 1000+ yd burner Galloway and the numerous other good receivers we have on our team.) More importantly though, we will be fielding a top 5 defense (once again) as there has been no major loss (Kelly played sparingly last year and is our only significant loss on defense.) I'm curious as to why you have these ambitious dreams of us suddenly dumping into the cellar? Where do you get your logic? K-Mart, in the Martha Stewart section I presume. Really, blog elsewhere with such stupidity. Everybody who knows anything about football (check your Sirius NFL radio) is excited about the 2008 Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Get off our ship bozo; we don't want wet, Sigmond the Seewead weighing our ship down! 12-4 division champs 4th yr out of 7. Not so bad I say.

I hear you Kurt...Go Bucs!!! I think Troupe is an upgrade to Becht. He never really did much here. What a bust for a 1st rounder, eh? Troupe will warm back up in the Florida Sun and give us 3 legitimate threats at TE (Smith, Stevens & Troupe.) And as for Kipp; you're a tool.

Actually I like where your heads at GJ, but when teams rely too heavily on their rookies they usually don't live up to their potental, case and point, Michael Clayton. Looks like a BA draft though.

We ain't partners, we ain't brothers and we ain't friends; and if Gands gets away with my money, you're gonna be sorry you ever met me...Kipp!

Kurt, I agree that they are absolutly 100% going in the right direction with the offensive line. However they are still very young and inexperienced. And when 'the guys who make everything work on offense' are still maturing....well, you get the point. And saying that a Graham will rush for 12 to 16 hundres yards is a bit rediculous especialy seeing as how he hasn't even finished a whole season yet. Maybe it's just me but it seems pretty sad that the only thing to boast about in our passing game is a 38 year old QB and a 36 year old(and injured) WR in Galloway.

And in case you haven't noticed but we're in the celler already. Since the superbowl year we have a loosing record with 0 playoff wins. Since Gruden 'the offensive guru' came our offences best year it was randed 22nd.

In other words, the defense is rebuilding and the offense is going to keep pooping on itself until we get some play makers.

You're fighting a losing battle Kipp. Gruden took over a team that fell apart 1 year after he gained control. He proved what he can do with a mediocre offense and a great defense that year. He had no draft picks for 2 years and has since done a very good job of rebuilding it. It's really pretty simple. We have quite a few young receivers that are very promising and, yes of course, we could use more playmakers, but they aren't available right now. We are going to have to make a trade or draft. The young, "inexperienced" line did a hell of a job last year, and there's no reason with a better center why they won't move forward. As for Graham, he averaged over 100 yards a game and scored 10 touchdowns in the equivalent to 10 games. I'm not sure what you question about that Gator? Anyway, I'm not going to argue with you. We obviously have two separate points of view. I like the direction we're going in and think the management is doing everything within its power, which is prudent, to make this team better. You, on the other hand, think that we should mortgage the future, as did Mckay, in order to have one winning season. You need to root for the Raiders. Enough said.

You can't say this team would be worse off by adding guys like Donte' Stallworth, TJ Duckett, Lance Briggs, Alge Crumpler, or even Devery Henderson. Adding a few of those guys ,along with a good draft, would of done wonders for this team.

I'm with you kurt and kipp the man never said we couldnt use a playmaker or two but the guys u just named arent exactly that with the exception of briggs but we dont need him. Stallworth paid way too much money for having a less then stellar yr, henderson why sign him when we have a guy that might by as speedy as him named chad lucas, duckett is not needed in my opnion I would rather take my chances with graham, bennet, and askew, and crumpler is injury-prone and practices what once a week at best. Best way for us to get better is the draft and trading. last years draft for tampa went under the radar but we did pretty good, we also got other nice players in past drafts such as rudd, davin, trueblood and alex smith...i see what tampa is doing is quiet but effective and free agency is far far from over...

considering the TE's in the draft this year, this is a good pick up. he is only 26 and has good potential. other than Fred Davis he has more potential than the other TE's in this years crop...

GJ,
Stop with the mentioning of DeSean Jackson as a 1st round WR. And the other guys are clones of two guys we already have on the roster (Clayton and Stovall).

I'd prefer we traded back into the draft, gain an additional 2nd rounder and something else, pickup a WR like Devin Thomas or a better version of Clayton/Stovall in James Hardy. Trev Laws would be a fantastic pickup in round 2 as well. His motor is unmatched in this draft and he would be a huge addition. There are so many good CBs available, we could draft two potential starters AFTER round 2.

I like the Troupe pickup and I agree he's an upgrade from Becht. I also think that Gruden is a more creative play caller, especially for passing plays involving tight ends, than Norm Chow and whoever else has been calling plays in Nashville the past few years. Plus I think Alex Smith really is the only pass-catching TE we really need - that dude is athletic!

That being said, I hope the Troupe signing gives the Bucs enough depth at TE that they can show Stevens the door! Don't let it hit you in the @ss on the way out Stevens!

Kipp, good luck getting through to these morons. Apparently, going 7-9, 5-11, 11-5, 4-12, 9-7 is somehow going in the right direction. The super bowl team was kept intact for the most part and Gruden failed to get the team to the playoffs or even a winning record. They played uninspired ball. They paid their best receiver money to sit and watch games because Gruden couldn't deal with him like a man. EG is their best young player and he wasn't even drafted. Clayton, Ki-Jana Carter, I mean Caddy, Alex Smith have all not progressed to be anybody in this league. There were no good free agents? You named numerous players that are better than what the Bucs have or would make the Bucs better. But your talking about a coach who began last season with 4 active QBs on the roster. I wonder when the rose colored glasses will wear out next season?

HERES A QUESTION FOR ALL YOU GENERAL MANAGERS OUT THERE: WHAT KIND OF A PACKAGE WOULD YOU PUT TOGETHER TO OFFER ANOTHER TEAM IN ORDER TO TRADE UP TEN SPOTS IN THE DRAFT BEFORE DRAFT DAY OCCURS? IT HAPPENS.

Gruden and Allen are playing free agency very well. This year's crop of free agents was very shoddy and people overpaid for everything. C'mon, $42 million for Shaun Rodgers!!

Kipp, sorry to burst your bubble, but if the best offense that the Bucs have had under Gruden is 22nd, then how come we were 18th in the league last year, and 10th in 2003-2004? You may be refering to points scored, which is the most important, but in yards, as I am refering to, the Bucs have had atleast 2 better seasons than 22nd in yards, if that is what you are refering to.

The Brownies traded for Rogers and chose to give him that much afterwards.

Something else, what are the odds that Garcia's hurt? If you remember the last game he couldn't hit the side of a barn and looked terrible. Maybe his body's breaking down from being hit so much or his age is just cating up to him? idk but if that's the case then it at least makes the Griese thing make sence a little bit.

Not a bad signing, especially if it leads to the removal of locker room cancer (Stevens). Those of you concerned about the secondary, don't forget that Piscitelli will return, and that Tanard Jackson can prove to become extremely versitile in that he can play both safety and corner, possibly nickleback, remember Dwight Smith? I really hope Kiffen experiments some more with his personnel and formations, I think he was on the right track last season experimenting with the 3-4. Get the best players on the field and let them do what they do, instead of relying on farmilliar plays/formations. Good things are coming!

Hey, DR. Last year everyone was talking about how brutal the Bucs schedule was going to be and by the end of the season people were talking about how easy it was. In actuality, it was just about average compared with everyone else. I like the Smith, Caddy, Trueblood picks under Gruden way more than the Queezie Green, Reidel Anthony and the 1 and 2 for Kenyatta Walker under Dungy.

DR is just p'd that his beloved Cowboys choked once again. Tony Homo is proving to be just a mediocre QB because he can't handle the big games. The Cowboys will be last in the NFC East next year.

welcome back Tom! The Cowboys are beginning to remind me of Notre Dame. All the history but garbage in the past 10 years!

anyone remember Alvin Harper?

Good to be back Mike! Garbage is an understatement.

my boy tom is back but yea and you see DR loves to bring our past records, but lets all remind him that his team hasnt won a playoff game in wat 10 or 12 years???, he fails to bring that up ever i mean lets ask him this how does a team go 5-11 three straight years i mean you didnt get better or worse for 3 straight years thats terrible, the thing is he really wants to be a bucs fan because he comes on here everday, i doubt he even visits the cowboys website.

Dr is a complete tool. He must have a pretty sad life to come on here everyday to talk smack about the Bucs. The fact is that the Patriots, Colts, and the BUCS are the only 3 teams to win a SB and 3 division titles in the last 6 years. I'll take that all day.

I still say trade #1 pick for Larry Fitzgerald

I am glad that people are realizing the errors of the teams that have loaded up on free agents. Our young talent will bury teams with these aging, overpaid, mediocre players for years to come.

We are on the right path here folks. If we have a strong draft next April will be a contender for a long time.

HAHAHA! You guys are funny! That's right, put the Bucs next to the likes of the Colts and Pats! HAHAHAHAHAHA! I come here for pure retard entertainment! You guys are great! In the past 6 years, the Cowboys have a better record than the Bucs. The Bucs haven't won a playoff game since the super bowl and don't look like they will anytime soon. The Bucs have forced the NFL to look into and more than likely adopt a new rule that doesn't allow mediocre teams win weak divisions and have a home playoff game against a far better a far more deserving team like they did last year.
The Cowboys will be last in the East??? HAHAHAHA! If they are last, they'll probably still have a better record than the South Division winner like the Eagles almost did. The East will put another 3 teams in the playoffs for the 3rd year in a row.

The Bucs should trade their #1, #2, and throw in Clayton just for a laugh to get Larry Fitzgerald.
Trading for Shockey would be a huge mistake. He's a poison in the locker room and in the huddle. He's the most overrated TE in the game.
You guys want Deangelo Hall, which would be a good pick up but the Bucs will have to open their pocketbooks and pay out. These players aren't stupid, they know the Bucs have the money to pay top dollar and will expect to get it. They will not sign for less with the Bucs to play for them.

That is the link to your Beloved Cowboys blog. Go there and someone might appreciate your opinion.

Wait, when is the last time the Cowboys won a playoff game?
Get lost.

The thing is DR you keep saying we havent one a playoff game sice the super bowl year, but we have beat you guys once since then and i think all buc fans will take a nfc championship apperance in 2000 3 playoff wins and a superbowl in 01-02 season and 3 division titles since the new alignment over no playoff wins in about 10 or 12 years, i think all bucs fans would agree...right? exactly.

I think the Bucs are heading in the right direction. While Sears and Joseph aren’t sexy picks but they are the core of a good young line that will be better next year. Rudd has developed into the next Shelton. Hovan was a good pick up that was under appreciated. I say we trade back a couple of picks and take Phillips out of Miami who could turn into a steal after a bad junior year. If not look at drc or if Chris Williams from Vanderbilt if he slips, we could use a tackle to solidify our line. I hope we avoid Jackson from CAL I just think he reminds me of Santana Moss. In the second round look for Early Doucet, Andre Cadwell, if we don’t find a receiver maybe get Justin King out of penn state (also a return guy)or Antoine Cason form Arizona and we could find our secondary looking at a promising future. However I have seen some mock drafts with Cason gone in the first. If Pat Simms is still on the board he makes sense as well. Again not a sexy pick but he will fill the middle and help Adams get some sacks. Andre Woodson in the third could work out well or Earl Bennet could take over where Clayton was supposed to continue. Don’t count out Mario Manningham who has fallen this far after his bad combine. Nick Hayden form Wisconsin and Steve Slaton could still be here too. While I believe in Graham and hope Cadi makes it back Slaton is intriguing and cant see him not at least being a good third down back. Dexter Jackson from app state in the fifth gives us another receive and return specialist. Also I have seen D.J. hall and Eric Ainge on the board.

The Bucs are 2-1 in their last 3 games VS the Cowgirls. They have not won a playoff game in forever and DR wants to boast about them!! HAHAHAHA what a joke! Talk about cheap entertainment!!

Winning the East was a far better achievement than winning the South. Any half decent team could have won the South last year. We had 13 wins last season and didn't even try in the last 2, which was a mistake. Have the Bucs won 13 games in any season in franchise history? Being the #1 seed was an achievement. Yeah, we choked, we lost a tough game. At least we were in the game until the last drive. You guys could have left at half time. I don't blame all the fans for not wanting to buy tickets to a Bucs playoff game causing corporate sponsors to buy up a bunch of tickets and the Bucs asking for an deadline extension so the playoff game doesn't get blacked out. That was a show of great support for where the Bucs were heading and what they were doing.
Keep on bragging about how great a 9-7 team is that won a garbage division. A 10-6 team didn't make it in the AFC, you guys have lots to be proud of.
You guys are comparing 2 franchises that are in separate universes. the Bucs franchise is still a bottom feeder in the NFL.

I haven't boasted about my team at all here. These guyswant to rag on them for some reason like the Bucs are better.
Don't forget about the Thanksgiving Day massacre in Irving, when that guy you all call "homo" shredded your defense like it was a video game on the easiest level.

marion is good do you think he can take the punding of fulltime backhood. he is a physical runner? what about reciever? glen and owens are old. crayton dropped a pass that could have helped you advance, when he was wide open. will you be able to re sign those de's and Lb's without them your in a lot of trouble.

poster named "kurt" never should been born ... he nothing but oxygen thief

wat do you mean you dint talk about the cowboys on here thats all you do on here, its like u diss my team im gonna be fan and back it up diss your team back yea the cowboys won that thankgiving game agaist us last year but we had a couple defensive stars not playing and rookie 6th round pick who was forced to start there were so many time sgalloway was open downfield and was underthrown or over thrown like the one in the down the sideline in the endzone were he toasted henry but bruce underthrew him it was so manytimes he missed on throws, remeber that first drive that we scored on our opening drive thats how the game shoulda kept going but gradkowski lost his rythm and were forced to throw the whole game but like john said were 2-1 in the last 3 games, and yea romo had a good game that game ill give it to him i dont mind giving credit when credit is due for a player but i want the same respect for my team but that game didnt mean anything because when u had a chance to win your first playoff game in years he dropped the ball one easy thing to do to when the game was on the line and he ruined it then this year he had a chance to redeem his self dont get me wrong had a great year but in another chance to win the first playoff game in years he forces the ball across the middle to a reciever that hadnt played all season to lose the game, big players are supposed to make big plays in big games, i see you still havent responded to the fact about wat we have accomplished while you have won a playoff game in a long time.

havent won a playoff in a long time.

I can tell you one thing, we don't have big time cry babies on the team talking about "that's my teammate" Man up.

Dwayne and mike its obvious that this dude DR is a closest bucs fan. I mean this dude spends more time talking about how the bucs are this and that. He is one of those fans thats more wrapped up in how the bucs fair in a season than what his team actually does. I've come to the theory that he was kicked out of cowgirl chatrooms cuz all he would mention is the bucs. Sorry Dr but these buc fans dont want you here. Go sit nxt to t.o. and u two can wipe each others tears.

In their last 5 playoff games the Cowboys are 0-5 and he wants to make fun of the Bucs? An NFC south that is so bad? Yeah like when the Panthers OWNED Dallas in recent playoff games. Dude...you can't win. Dress yourself up like a speed bump and go play in traffic.

TO cried on TV, what's wrong with that? He wants to win. If he didn't show emotion, you guys would him just the same.
Dwayne, your talking about a lot of ifs in a blowout game, the Bucs and Cowboys game. That was Romo's first year playing in the NFL as a starter and he was a non drafted player.
The Cowboys are getting old but have better talent. Don't even mention Glenn, he didn't play in their 13 wins. I'd take a TO over Galloway any day of the week. That was a huge drop by Crayton but i'd take him over Clayton. Barber can and will take the workload. EG isn't far behind the caliber of barber. Will Gruden keep giving him the ball?
I was starting to like the Bucs while living down here, but it's hard to like them with a moron for a coach who wants to take all the credit. He isn't better than Brian Billick, and he is comparable to Switzer who actually has a far better record than Gruden. If the Bucs fans weren't so freakin' gay, i'd pribably be a Bucs fan more. But you guys are beyond gay.

"I haven't boasted about my team at all here. These guyswant to rag on them for some reason like the Bucs are better.
Don't forget about the Thanksgiving Day massacre in Irving, when that guy you all call "homo" shredded your defense like it was a video game on the easiest level. "

That's not boasting?

If you don't like the Bucs and you don't like the fans and you don't like the coach, THEN WHY DO YOU POST HERE???

What's wrong with a football player crying on TV because they lost a game? Busted! Say no more DR, you're done. That was the funniest, wussiest thing I've ever seen. Boo-hoo, don't be mean to my QB, wah-wah-wah! If TO kept his big mouth shut, he would be respected Doofus Ray. What has Gruden ever taken credit for? He gives Garcia and the players all the credit in the world. Where do you make this stuff up from? Switzer? You're comparing Gruden to Switzer? That guy coached for 2 years and he took over one of the best franchises to ever be built (thanks to Jimmie Johnson- bet you wish you had him back!) Gruden is the best coach ever for his age...period. Look up the stats - Madden is the only one in the same category. You are a complete moron! 6 division championships in 9 years coaching, 3 conference championship appearances and a SB victory. Gay? Now you are bringing out your true colors. That's what you've been wanting to talk about all along isn't it? Go see your shrink.

I thought it was chicken... it says right on the package "Chicken of the Sea"?

Tony Romo is a choke artist. T.O. is crying, blabbering loser. Jessica simpson has fake bre@$ts. Jeff Garcia's wife is way hotter! Nuff said.

I just read the stuff you have posted DR... and i have come to the conclusion that u know absolutely nothing about football... U talk about how bad our fans are but i guarentee the cowboys fans would be pissed at me if i posted a bunch of crap on their website... Try to grow up.. i mean im 15 and i am mature enough to not go onto another teams website and talk crap about them... Learn some manners...

Kipp, learn to spell if you are going to post. You have written these winners: "sence", "definatly" etc., it makes you look like a moron even with good comments.
There is some truth in all these posts. Gruden-Allen way overpaid with bad contracts when they first came here: Garner, Deese, Steussie et. al., so they may be in FA shock, and this years group was not strongother than3-4 guys. Look at next years class of FA and we will all be glad if we have cap space.
That does not mean you don't try this year, but it is smart to lock up your own guys first-it works pretty well for the Colts who have the best overall record in the NFL over the last 5 years--and then be smart in FA.
The draft this year is very heavy with good RBs and WRs so the Bucs should be able to land at least one quality player at each position. Don't forget Paris Warren in IR I think he has good potential.
The Bucs can also pick up some real speed for the return game in the 3-4 th round by drafting one of those kids in Houston who both run under 4.4. With all that being said, the big question for the Bucs is who is our future QB going to be. Is it Mcown-if not we need to draft one this year and start grooming him because Garcia may last one year or two that is it. Go Bucs.

By the wat DR you friggin' tool, before this year, the NFC South had more representatives in the NFC Championship game than nay other division in the NFL. In fact, it is also the ONLY NFL division which has had all of its teams in the NFC Championship and/or Super Bowl since the realignment.Look it up

when did the Falcons go?

1998

I don't believe that is correct: the Falcons have not represented the Championship game since realignment, but all of our teams have won the division. It was widely considered the best division in football before last year. If Carolina can get a QB, they'll be back in the hunt, while the Saints and Bucs are already representing fairly well. The Falcons have McKay, so they'll probably suffer awhile longer he sucks big donkey dorks with DR.

The Falcons played in the 2004 NFC championship. So Yes thay all HAVE been in the title game since divisions changed. So much for the "sorry" NFC South!
