Remembering Favre

Favre Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre announced his retirement today after a 17-year career in which he won passed for more than 60,000 yards and 400 touchdowns, won a Super Bowl and claimed three league MVP awards.

Favre, 38, set several career records, including most touchdown passes (442), while leading the Packers to the NFC Championship Game this past season.

As former NFC Central foes, Favre and the Bucs had their share of meetings. Have a favorite Favre memory? Share it in the 'comments' area below.

Absolute stud! I used to love the jawing that Favre and Sapp used to do all game long!

Yeah, I missed the time when Sapp and Farve were going at each other. Now they are both retired. Good luck Bret.

We are witnessing the apotheosis of a football God.

Great longevity . .great toughness . .great records.

Tiger Woods type player... :)

Even if you didn't care which teams were playing, if Brett was on the field, it would be a great game!

What a fantastic competitor and personality.

I hope he becomes an announcer or finds something on TV. He'll be fun to watch and listen to.

Despite being a life long Buc fan (or perhaps because of it), Brett is one of my all-time favorite players. He spent many Sundays frustrating opposing players and fans with his fierce determination, incredible skills, and unbelieveable intestinal fortitude. Then, with that boyish grin and enthusiasm, he'd somehow manage to remind us all that it was just a game - nothing personal. On second thought ... that grin and enthusiasm ticked me off too many times - Good riddance Brett! :-)

hey folks, John Madden here ... what you have when you talk about Brett Favre is the most perfect specimen to ever grace the football field ... and BOOM ... just like that he's gone from the game

excuse me now ... I'm going to go look for a very tall building right about now

OK... so forget the tall building, I mean, umm, I'm , I mean.... Heh! Brett Favre is the greatest QB of all time! There's been alot of QB's that played football, and that they all played football in the NFL or the old AFL means that they were really good QB's. But I dont know that I ever seen a QB as ever there was a good QB as Brett Favre. I know I know Heh! I said Tom Brady was the best, but toay with Brett Favre retireing it was just like you know BOOM! it just hit me that he's the best QB ever to play the game. Better than a 6 legged turkey on Thanksgiving!

Favre was(is) very overated,,,probably not even in the top 20 of QB's to play the game...sorry cheeseheads

i'll miss watching the QB that i grew up watching even when the bucs were taking on the pack i would admire farve because he's just an ordinary guy just like you and me hard to watch such a great player walk away from the game but he has nothing left to prove GOD WEARS #4

Longest scoring play in Bucs history?

Brett Favre to Shelton Quarles 98 yd TD

good luck Brett, you were one hell of a player,at least you went out with class, instead of being dragged off the field like some washed-out fool,(Marino)
Later,take care

Tiger Woods?what the hell does he have to do with Farve retiring,MORON,I mean Matt
Woods couldn't lift his jock strap,WUSS

One terrific role model both on and off the field. Thanks for the memories.

This just in: The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have recently informed NFL Commisioner Roger Goodell that they plan to revolutionize the future landscape of NFL playbooks league-wide. The plan involves implementing a completely new offensive philosophy, in which the team will field an offense made up entirely of quarterbacks. This new wrinkle, combined with the masturful wizardry known as "Jon Grudens' Play Calling", will stifle and confuse even the most accomplished NFL defensive minds. Bucs Defensive Coordinator Monte Kiffen, after meeting with Gruden this afternoon, has released the following statement: "Jeez! I don't know what to say... that playbook makes me feel about as intelligent as John Madden sounds on TV!!!". Roger Goodell could not be reached for comment, however Gruden plans to release more info at a press conference to be held tomorrow at 10am Eastern.

How the hell is Brett Favre a "great role model" as Mike 11:23 states?
When a BLACK athlete gets in trouble with drugs he is NEVER rid of the stain ... but a lilly white redneck playing in the midwest gets a pass?

give me a freakin' BREAK

PEACE OUT

word to your mother
