Another trade to report
One more move by the Bucs.
They've traded their 153rd pick to New England, receiving the 160th (fifth round) and 238th (seventh round) picks in exchange.
This gives the Bucs a pick in each round. Now, this is exciting. Yippee!

Booty from USC would be a great pick by trading down.

Booty was taken by the Vikes in the 4th round. Josh Johnson is the project to go for at QB at this point IMO.

Not sure if they just want to collect bodies or if they expect to get any value with these picks.
I cant think of any other position other than RB/FB that we need depth.
They Typical TE/LB in the seventh round that doesn't even make the squad seems pointless.
Maybe our scouts have gotten better and we'll actually get a quality player though?

Why does everyone seem to want a QB in this draft? We have too many as it is! Garcia is great as the starter, Griese is a very good back-up in case of an injury, and Simms, Gradkowski and McCown can battle it out in training camp to be #3 and the "QB of the future".
Personally, my money is on McCown. He showed a lot last year, and any mistakes could only be attributed to inexperience, which is the same problem any drafted QB will have.

Agreed Joe. I don't really understand why McCown is habitually over looked. He had good numbers last year and he seems to have a knack for moving the chains.

McCown is in the last year of his contract and so is Garcia, Bruce isnt the answer and Simms is on his way out, Griese has bounced around now and didnt look all that hot playing for the Bears. Thats why we needed a QB and I was right in my prediction of Josh Johnson, hopefully his athleticism will translate into being a good NFL QB. Mike Mayock on the NFL network said he loved the pick and said Johnson is the type of QB who could develop into a starter in 3 years and thats what makes him an excellent 5th rd pick and also said that no matter what your QB situation is you look for potential starters in the 5th round.
Kiper and Jaws were high on the pick too, MVP of the East-West game and said other positive things to say about him.

do I see a qb controversy? obviously... and thank god for it!! Garcia is our starter, Johnson our backup and Griese... forget about simms, gradsucky, and mccown.

glad he did well in the east-west shrine smoke & mirror bowl
d2 football is about on par with Class A high school football in floria --- i will believe the hype after he has shown me that he's at least ready for the CFL or AFL first

TH: you're a mental midget ... Johnson will NOT be the backup QB as a rookie with those other guys on board

Johnson backing up Garcia huh huh thats a good one. Garcia will be in the old folks home before this guy is ready, if ever

It's really a shame that you guys arent as good at being a pro football GM as you are at whining, complaining, and name calling.
