Boston pleads to less-serious charge
Here's an update to this morning's item on David Boston's court appearance:
According to one of his attorneys, Ron Hanes, Boston pleaded no contest to a charge of reckless driving in a negotiated deal with the state. The former Bucs receiver was sentenced to six months of probation with a condition of 50 hours of community service. The probation period can be terminated after the community-service obligations are met.
The 29-year-old Boston is hoping his avoidance of a DUI charge will bring him closer to getting another chance in the NFL. It remains to be seen whether there is any interest in him. For now, his attorneys say he is exploring his options in the Canadian Football League.
Boston made the Bucs' final cut last season but was released when he reached an injury settlement with the team after suffering a foot injury during warm-ups for the season opener at Seattle.

Can we really call him an ex-Buc since he never made it onto the field?

Between he and Jeramy Stevens there's such a phenomenal waste of talent. It makes me wonder why we ever let Joe Jurevicious leave in free agency.

Jay, 'Vicious is gone because he dared cross the almighty idiot and self-proclaimed genius Gruden...

John, you're a moron. Joe left to live out his dream of playing for his hometown and the team he grew up rooting for.

Just goes to show you what kind of things professionals will do to get an edge on their competition and still be technically within the rules (of the NFL).
He was a hell of a receiver out of Ohio State...why he ever started farting around with coke and HGH back on the west coast is beyond me.
From rising star to passing out at a stop light while the sun rises in Pinellas County, chalk up another sad story of what could have been.

Boston really disappoints. many of us believed he was sober. Another lesson learned.

I don't understand the whole..."give a guy a second chance" theory. In order to give someone a second chance you have to take the first one away. In other words, the person to give a second chance would be their next employer, not the current one. Saying that you are giving a second chance is basically just saying that what you did wrong is ok. A "once in a lifetime" opportunity should be just that. Boston should be using his big muscles to help the labor force move away from the Mexican invasion.

In response to mm's idiotic comments! Every major college out there has a player(s) that turn out to be a major disappointment. Is Joey Galloway a 'typical Buckeye'? What about Warrick Dunn? Should we compare him to the idiot FSU players that cheated on their tests and classes? No, absolutely not! Sit down, be quiet, and play with your crayons, mm!

i think that having boston and stevens out there was a waste of like 15 milion or more
both of them were 2nd or 3rd string at best
someone needs to breach contract and trade, fire, or bench
