Not bad. Two Sunday nights and a Monday night game. Let's hope they play well enough to not get bumped from that late season Sunday night game.

3 primetime games and the home opener a 4:00 game, sweet!
Posted by: Mike | April 15, 2008 at 02:18 PM
I'm disappointed. We haven't had a monday nighter at home since 2003 vs NYG. The packers game "Battle of the Bays" would have been good,
Posted by: Kurt Thoreson | April 15, 2008 at 02:23 PM
The Bucs are playing the Vikings here at home? Im missing Allstott already. Ahhhhhhh, those we're the days :). Its good to see the Bucs matching up with their old "black & blue" rivals once again....

I like the schedule. No cold weather games, finishing the season at home, and three primetime games (though Chargers game could possibly get bumped).
Definitely better set-up than what I thought it would be.
Posted by: BE | April 15, 2008 at 02:31 PM
the last time we started the season against the saints, we won a super bowl.
Posted by: | April 15, 2008 at 02:32 PM
Well, everyone, I'd say they reallllly lucked out here. Games against Denver, Chicago and Kansas City come before the cold weather. That's a huge break. Plus, they close the season with two straight home games during the holidays. That's a huge advantage (for both the team and it's beat writers!). Only drawback for them might be the two pairs of back-to-back road games: Cowboys followed by the Chiefs and, later, Panthers followed by Falcons.

12-4 for sure what a cake schedule and great bye week to regroup after a long road trip
Posted by: jason | April 15, 2008 at 02:41 PM
all the west coast teams except broncos come here to play. nice...
Posted by: joe | April 15, 2008 at 02:51 PM
We could be 4-0 going into Denver. Only hard game is in New Orleans, which they started out horrible last year so maybe history repeats itself. Bears suck and Green Bay and Atlanta have QB issues. I don't think a 11-5 or better is impossible.
Posted by: Robert | April 15, 2008 at 02:54 PM
The AFC West draw is pretty sweet, teams we rarely see and two complete dogs in KC and OAK.
Posted by: Mitch | April 15, 2008 at 03:00 PM
Why freaking NO gets 3 nationally televised games? They did not even make the playoffs. Typical NFL double standard. I remember way back when when Cowboys went 1-15, they still got a MNF game the next season.
Posted by: Ray | April 15, 2008 at 03:06 PM
how about the browns having three monday night games.
Posted by: Julian | April 15, 2008 at 03:12 PM
Browns have more prime time than the Giants.
Posted by: Robert | April 15, 2008 at 03:14 PM
Can someone tell me what Carolina did last year to deserve having a home Monday night game? I'm grateful for the 2 home Sunday night games, but only one is guaranteed. Oh well, better than all 1:00 games.
Posted by: | April 15, 2008 at 03:16 PM
Do you all honestly believe 12-4 or 11-5 is a possibility? Please. The division got better in the offseason and it seems most of you didn't even notice it. The Panthers upgraded their WR corps, along with Delhome returning and Matt Moore coming on at the beginning of the season. The Saints had only one real weakness and that was secondary which they have a high enough pick to draft a corner with that will instantly start opposite Mike McKenzie. Atlanta will be an all out power running game with Turner the Burner and Norwood. Atlanta will get what they need in the draft. Mike Smith is a defensive mind.
I see a 7-9 record, wins against Falcons, Panthers(Bucs win one, Panthers win one), Chiefs, Lions, Raiders, Bears.
Posted by: Caleb | April 15, 2008 at 03:16 PM
WHAT?? 3 Games in Prime Time... But Duemig says no one wants to play here for Gruden and that the league thinks he is a joke!! LOLOL
Good going Bucs and Thank heaven for the FABULAS SPORTS BABE!!!!
Posted by: JB | April 15, 2008 at 03:19 PM
Is Deuce McCallister comes back even remotely close to what he was before his injury, the saints will sweep the bucs.
The bucs are soft and old and there is no way they are winning more than 9 games. Sorry, just being real!
Posted by: matt | April 15, 2008 at 03:21 PM
Caleb, I see losses to the Broncos, Cowboys and splits with Saints and Panthers. Chargers game may not matter for either team by week 16. Seahwks we have at home which may give us the edge. Raiders, Falcons, Bears, Packers, Chiefs, Vikings, and Lions are all going to struggle. For them to finish 7-9, like you say, we would have to loss to a couple of these inconsistant teams. How do you figure?
Posted by: Robert | April 15, 2008 at 03:26 PM
Looks like NBC is show casing Tampa (not Bucs) for the upcoming Superbowl!
Posted by: Paul | April 15, 2008 at 03:27 PM
I predict 6-3 come the Bye week and finishing the second half with losses to the Panthers and Saints. Chargers won't need to win and the Raiders always suck.
Posted by: Robert | April 15, 2008 at 03:31 PM
I love this time of year. In April, everyone's on their way to the Super Bowl! In reality, the Bucs' actual record will probably lie somewhere in between the doomsday predictions and those calling this a cupcake schedule (and, by the way, I think we all know there is no such thing in the NFL).
Posted by: Stephen Holder | April 15, 2008 at 03:38 PM
Robert, I don't see the Seahawks losing to Tampa. Tampa upgraded a few positions yes, but all Seattle has to do to be better then last year is get a running back. Julius Jones and TJ Duckett obviously aren't who I mean by get a RB, but most mocks have them going with Mendenhall, Stewart, or Felix Jones.
I could see a Saints split "possibly". I agree with the Chargers game, I doubt SD would be fighting for a playoff spot by then although if Denver comes out blazing(which through their offseason moves, they should be a lot better), the Chargers might have some competition in that division. I don't see the Pack struggling at all. Their defense will be the same for the most part except for the loss of Corey Williams who they will draft a capable pass rushing DT in the draft for. All the Packers WRs are superb, Greg Jennings, DD, James Jones, Ruvell Martin, and Koren Robinson. Not to mention the running attack of Ryan Grant. Green Bay still has a powerful offensive line that mows people over. Chiefs and Lions usually always struggle; the Vikings will be a good team next year with their offseason moves as well. Adding Madiue Williams in the secondary and Bernard Berrian at WR will only make both sides of the ball even better...plus they have AD. Also, the Texans and Vikings will probably end up trading Rosenfels for a draft pick on draft day so QB should be better for them next year as well.

SWEET!!
Sun., Nov. 2 at Chiefs, 1 p.m.
I can drive the 2.5 hours from Omaha to watch my Bucs!!
Posted by: Sean | April 15, 2008 at 03:43 PM
I don't see the Packers struggling much. They might not lose much in the QB arena and their running game was just hitting on all cylinders at the end of last year. The Pack and Dallas are still the class of the NFC.
Posted by: Jon | April 15, 2008 at 03:43 PM
The Bucs are in Carolina to play the Panthers in a Monday Night Football game.
The Bucs haven't had a Monday Night game since... they were in Carolina to play the Panthers...
What's up with 2 straight MNF games against the same team in the same city?
At least we have the final game at home. Not like the Rays getting to open and close on the road every year due to the lack of respect that the MLB has for them.
Here's to the hope of winning the NFC's best record, along with TRUE Home Field Advantage en route to a Super Bowl XLIII victory in (and for) the great city of Tampa, Florida!
Posted by: Mark | April 15, 2008 at 03:44 PM
Who cares. The Bucs are stagnant and getting old. GO RAYS!
Posted by: Rob | April 15, 2008 at 03:47 PM
You people are delusional. If the Bucs go 8-8 I would be surprised. We were the worst playoff team by far last year and didn't get any better what-so-ever...And Robert, you say we would have to lose to these inconsistent teams...because the Bucs are so consistent...funny
Posted by: steve | April 15, 2008 at 04:00 PM
Sunday night is the new 'monday night' especially w/ the flex schedule, great schedule for the BUCS!
Posted by: Ray | April 15, 2008 at 04:22 PM
Sorry to you all, but I was one of a few that actually stated that they would win their division last year PRIOR to the start of the season. You can say that we finished at 9-7 but that was all we need to get in. We lost the first round to the (eventual)SuperBowl Champs, so did we really suck? If so, than so did the Boys and Pats since they also lost to NY. The Bucs HAVE to do well this year or heads are going to roll. It is now offically Gruden's team. Let's see what he can do.
Posted by: Robert | April 15, 2008 at 04:35 PM
we willsee. that looks like a very tough schedule. no team in the nfl sucks. period. if the bucs run the ball hard all year long we will contend. if not garcia will play in 8-10 games, missing here and there because gruden cannot keep him healthy and call plays without a good running game. go bucs!
Posted by: jh | April 15, 2008 at 04:50 PM
seriously there are only 4(maybe 5 if denver gets itself together)teams that will challenge the bucs this year and they are Saints(optimistically thinking the bucs will sweep the saints again), Chargers, Cowgirls, Seahawks and if everything pans out the way it should the bucs could go 14-2 this year
Posted by: shane | April 15, 2008 at 05:12 PM
No Home Monday Night game again... at least they are not ALL at 1:00pm on Sundays. So why didn't they switch the away and the home game with the Panthers... What have they done to deserve a MNF game? Didn't the Bucs win the Division? Same old BS different year.
Posted by: Dan | April 15, 2008 at 05:18 PM
Living in Biloxi, MS I plan on watching my Bucs on opening day even if I have to buy tickets from the scalpers.
Posted by: Wayne | April 15, 2008 at 05:19 PM
I agree with all of you debating over the bucs having a monday night game. In my opinion I think they should have one. But think about it, we have 2 sunday night games AT HOME! would you rather have 2 sunday night games on the road and one home on monday night?
Posted by: Mark | April 15, 2008 at 05:40 PM
Man, I'd love to be able to come down during Christmas break this year to be able to see my BUCS playing the CHARGERS or the RAIDERS! I've been to RayJay but only in the offseason. If not, I'll have to try to go 4 hours down the highway to Detroit for the Nov.23rd game, or wait until 2009 when the BUCS are scheduled to play their first game ever in Buffalo. Watch that be the next regular season game here in Toronto. LOL! I see a 10-6 or 11-5 year. Great schedule though, no 3 games in 10 days (2 on the road) like we got screwed with a few years back.
Posted by: Peter (Toronto) | April 15, 2008 at 09:12 PM
Same old BUCS. Another horrible season.
Posted by: | April 15, 2008 at 10:19 PM
The Bucs should draft the Icebox from Little Giants. Maybe she can block Osi Yumenyora.
Posted by: matt | April 16, 2008 at 09:19 AM
14-2? LMAO! No friggin' way!
Posted by: | April 16, 2008 at 10:10 AM
This is the Buc Fan up here near Dallas,Texas who grew up in Tampa and went thru 0-26 times. I still have the Orange and White winking Pirate Jacket. Iam 62 yrs young, Remember WE WON the DIVISION Lasy Year. And WE GOT BEAT BY THE SUPER BOWL CHAMPS LAST YEAR.
