Coaching staff shakeup | Main | Bucs sign USF's Jackson ยป

A few prospects to stick around?

Seems there were a few long shots who managed to catch the eyes of coaches during this weekend's rookie mini-camp.

Jon Gruden says the staff is taking a long look at some unnamed players who Gruden indicated the team is considering signing. He just won't say who they are yet.

"I would," Gruden said. "I just don't want the other teams to know who we're thinking about. But I will say there were three or four guys who really did some good things out here and were impressive."

We get the feeling Troy defensive lineman Chris Bradwell, formerly of Florida State, might be a guy they deem worthy of a longer look. He received some high praise from coaches today and throughout the weekend.

If any of the prospects are signed, we should hear about it in the coming days and we'll let you know.

I bet one of them will be a receiver.

Jay

Tim, I'm willing to take that bet and say NONE of them are receiver.

My money is on 4 out of these 6:

Elbert Mack, CB, Troy
Junior Rosegreen, CB, Auburn
Chris Bradwell, DL, Troy
Tommy Blake, DE, TCU (depending on how the Bucs feel about his mental issues)
Wes Doyle, WR, USD
Ammari Jackson, WR, USF

JS

i wish we could get tommy blake back to his junior form... he was a really good DE in TCU..

Tim

Looks like Jay would have won that bet. I wonder if any of the guys that attended the mini camp excluding the draft class, have a shot at making the team?

aaron

Stephen, did they work Derrick Doggett out at LB or at SS?

Ben Jarrods

Indise Scoop: Trust me, one is a receiver who has played a lot at RJ. He signed late last night or will ealry today.

I have been watching DT Chris Bradwell at Troy and I have been impressed since their first game in college. I always said whoever picks this player will have a Blue Chip Player. He didn't get much praise on the college football field because of some problems he had in prior years in school but he has the potential be just as good as the First round DT's in the 2008 NFL DRAFT. Lookout for him as well as CB Elbert Mack who has been overshadowed by CB Leodis McElvin but is a quality player. We'll just have to wait and see who the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Sign from this rookie class of talented players.
