Coaching staff shakeup

We learned today that Larry Coyer will no longer coach the defensive line, but rather fulfill the duties that his title of assistant head coach implies.

Coyer will be involved in coaching several areas of the team, including the offensive line, giving coach Jon Gruden and others the ability to use Coyer as a greater resource.

Todd Wash, who joined the Bucs last year as a defensive quality control coach, will take over day-to-day duties coaching the defensive line.

Coyer was hired last year after serving four seasons as the Broncos' defensive coordinator.

Comments

Todd Wash, not Walsh.

My mistake... Thanks.

This HAS to be Gruden's fault. Waiting for the fish wraps to put some sort of negative spin on this one.

Huh? Why is this minor?

I'm worried that Gruden might be reading my rants in these blogs. Stephen, you're really one of the Glazers, aren't you?

Negative spin?? Holder - why do you call this a "shakeup?" Has something happened detrimental to an individual coach, or are you just going for dramatic effect? Or do you even know?

What does Bill Muir actually do anymore?

what has he ever done?

Just another head coach prospect to be put out of the Kiffin head coaching tree. (Edwards, Smith, Tomlin & Marinelli) Dungy deserves some credit, but it looks like Kiffin has been at it with or without him.

He was the defensive coordinator for the Broncos a few years.

As for Muir, it's taken awhile, but he has done a good job of building the line for the future. I'm sure he had the largest hand in drafting/cultivating the numerous studs we have available on our line now.

makes sense, coyer isn't going to be satisfied being a position coach forever, and we need someone to fill that role as coyer will probably get another d-coordinator gig soon

Don't forget about Kiffin Jr. I'd say the old man had a hand in him becoming a head coach too! Thank God he's ours!!!

What does Gruden do anymore....

He is building us a team....I hope. Look I`ve seen worse brother...LEMON BENNETT,RAY PERKINS,WILLIAMSON...so yeah, GRUDEN is much better than those guys all put together. I remember we had 3 plays the `ol SOMBRERO days, run right, run left, punt. We`ll make the playoffs again this year. When DUNGY put us in the playoffs after a 1000 years of bad BUC ball I was in shock. So I know what the `ol days were like. We`re in the hunt most of the time now and I`m liking that. GO BUCS!!
