Ex-Buc Abdullah arrested
Former Bucs running back Rabih Abdullah, 33, was arrested Wednesday night in New Tampa on an
outstanding warrant of driving with a license that is revoked, suspended, or canceled.
Abdullah played for the Buccaneers from 1998 to 2001. He also played for New England and Chicago. He has been out of the NFL since 2004.
He pleaded guilty to a DUI charge in 2004 and also was arrested in 2006 on charges of DUI, as well as carrying a gun and marijuana in his car.

Yet another former NFL player turned thug.

I always liked Rabih Abdullah. It's too bad that he is starting to mess up.

Wow, another Ex-Buc in trouble, 2 days in a row. Who will it be tomorrow?
Posted by: | May 08, 2008 at 12:28 PM
Getting a DUI does not make someone a thug.. just means their decision making skills are not so great!
Posted by: | May 08, 2008 at 12:48 PM
I'm taking bets on Rhondy Weston?...another insignificant Buc.
Posted by: Skylar | May 08, 2008 at 12:49 PM
OK ..How about two DUI's still not a thug????
Posted by: ok | May 08, 2008 at 12:50 PM
A thug is someone that runs with a gang, wears gang clothing, hat backwards, gold teeth, gang signs.. etc..
I am sure there are alot of thugs that drink and drive... sure... but even if he has two DUI's does not a thug make.

Really, who gives a crap? They might as well report on local McDonalds employees getting DUI's. He might be working for McDonalds right now, actually. Abdullah sucked and was nothing in the NFL. Report on players that matter or who are currently on the team. It's not like this guy ruined another shot or is considered for the hall. What a waste of time printing this crap.

WHO CARES!!! This is the sports section, stop looking over police logs for sports news. These stories have absolutely no bearing or relevance pertaining to FOOTBALL.
Posted by: DV | May 08, 2008 at 01:12 PM
Oh, this could prove to be quite a distraction for the current Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Another reason we should be spending more on sports to keep them out of trouble.
Posted by: Football Fanatic | May 08, 2008 at 01:54 PM
Actually, that's 3 in a pretty short period of time, if you count Keith McCants. Someone ought to tell Lars Tate and company to watch out!

Hey Skylar:
Rhondy Weston??!!! You must be a real Bucs fan to remember that name!! :)

Since we are talking about old Bucs players in trouble, how about the kicker Donald Igwebuike. Didn't he get into trouble for smuggling heroin? I wonder were Igie is now.
Posted by: Ray | May 08, 2008 at 04:27 PM
What? Not obseving Ramadan Abdullah? Give me a break...
Posted by: | May 08, 2008 at 05:21 PM
How about a less rip and tear conversation. Some trivia perhaps. Who can tell me the name of the Bucs kicker who had a hand shake deal with Sam Wyche, then left in free agency anyway?

I agree with DR and DV, Who cares. I realize it must be difficult to find sports news to report, but if we wanted to read the court news, we wouldn't be reading a Bucs page.

Fyi
Skylar was a bucs cheerleader when rhondy played. that's the only reason she remembers him.

I fail to see a nexus of a person's clothes and teeth to being a "thug". Mentality makes a person a thug not clothes or materialistic goods. Why leave out "Impalas" and 22" rims. Do yourself a favor and stop stereotyping people. DWLSR is not the making of a thug and this site isn't a place for your racist rhetoric.
Also, Donald (Kicker) Igwebuike was acquitted of his charges... but you for got to mention this information.

My point is that we read sports pages to escape the reality of our daily lives and focus on something fun for a moment. Incompetent reporters think we care about crap news just because it involves former players. WE DON'T!!! Post this crap elsewhere.

Envy is a terrible thing...and no-name posts are for weakened warriors.
(Before somebody retorts telling me its "weekend warrior," I'd like to confirm that it's a pun nimwit.)

...and fyi, I never had the hips for cheerleading:(

That guy looks like one of those people begging for money at the intersection of Gandy and Dale Mabry, AKA the poor people's imposed toll booth.

Again ... negative news spun by the press. Also was an ex-bear and ex-pat but yet not mention of that in those respective cities ....

Mike, you have a good point but he was arrested in Tampa so there is a minor, really minor justification for it being printed here.

Mike, this was reported by our news department, not sports. But I can tell you that if this had happened somewhere else, it wouldn't be posted here. It's a local story, period. Chill out. Don't be so sensitive.

I`m with DR on this "WHO CARES?!", lets keep this for the BUCCANEER PLAYERS who are trying to do the right thing and bring us home a championship again. Besides nothing suprises me anymore after MARVIN HARRISON got popped for a gun charge. I quess they have faults like us too! NOT Gods who can do no wrong. They just have alot of money playing a game we all did as youngsters and make a living out of it. They`re so lucky to do that....man .....cant they see that?! I`d be so grateful! How would they like to be flipping burgers at BEEF `O BRADYS? I like my job but I`d rather play football than that! Shoot I`d do it for alot less money then them just to have fun and see different people and citys. Alritey then CYA. GO BUCS!!
