Five rookie free agents signed

The Bucs have announced their rookie free agents who will be partaking in this weekend's rookie camp, beginning this afternoon at One Buc Place.

There will be a host of others participating, but the remaining players are likely on tryout contracts, meaning they'll have to make quite an impression to stick around beyond Sunday.

Here are those signed to official contracts:

* OT Chris Clark, Southern Miss, 6-5, 290

* S/CB Jonathan Hefney, Tennessee, 5-8, 190

* CB Elbert Mack, Troy, 5-10, 168

* FB Carl Stewart, Auburn, 6-1, 230

* TE Tyrice Thompson, Arizona State, 6-5, 220

First, you didn't comment on anything. Instead of just saying "first to comment" why don't you actually say something worth while? Because I am going to comment on the article, I am actually the "first to comment."

Coming back to the article... I have never heard of any of these guys. What happened to players like DJ Wolfe from OU? Has somebody signed him?

Tony

Who cares who they sign, none of them will make the final roster anyways...

Jesse,

You haven't heard of any of these guys? How much college football do you actually know? Hefney was a solid player at UT though is very undersized and will not make the team- Steward is a very athletic FB from Auburn who could easily make the practice squard- go look at his numbers from the combine.

M Parker

That CB Mack may have some talent. You got to think he definately got thrown at alot, being opposite of McKelvin, drafted 1st round by Buffao.

Dave W

Most sources I've read said Mack was the more productive of the two Troy CBs. Walt Walker, Richard Clebert, and Amarri Jackson are among those on the tryout contracts, right?

And Tony, some of the best players in the NFL were undrafted, including Willie Parker, Joe Horn, Pat Williams, and Jeff Saturday (plus Antonio Gates, but he was a basketball player so it's a different comparison).

One of those CBs will make the roster, I guarantee it.

i can't wait till this new site is going to come out, it's called ihype.com. it's going to be pretty sick.

A little shortsighted Tony:

Perhaps you are familiar with some other bucs who were unsigned free agents:
Earnest Graham
Ryan Nece

... Just to name a couple

shut up liver... no one cares about you or your site

JOhn

Wow! Geno Hayes looks TINY in that pic. He looks smaller than the guy working the defensive drills! Let's hope he hits a growth spurt like Derrick. He is only 20.

stewart has a shot at making the team - not just practice squad - fullback in nfl is tough to project

Nick

I also like picking up Stewart the FB from Auburn. He is in the mold of the type of FB our offense uses and would give Storer some competition in camp.

Breaking News:
Barry Sanders is having talks with Bruce A.

Now now, guys, play nice!

Or was it boomer esiason

E Graham was undrafted...
