Bucs sign seventh-round pick

The Bucs sealed their first rookie deal today when seventh-round running back Cory Boyd agreed to a contract.

Boyd's addition came at the expense of center John Rochford, a rookie free agent out of Miami who was released to make room on the roster.

Boyd, a 6-1, 213-pound prospect from South Carolina, will compete in a crowded backfield for a backup spot or, more realistically, a spot on the practice squad. The Bucs presumably will keep Earnest Graham, Warrick Dunn and Michael Bennett at tailback, then will likely retain a pair of fullbacks: B.J. Askew and another to be determined.

I think its great to get this fine young man on the team. Why don't Tampa get rid of STEVENS, and kept that young man from miami. I think it should be time to get rid of these trouble makers like stevens. How in the world are we sending vibes to the other players on the team. In fact Cut Stevens NOW and Resign Garcia past 2009. Then the QB problem would be sign.

Hick you are stupid, Barber and Brooks back him up and the players are standing behind him. what does 'Then the QB problem would be sign' mean

I read Testaverde was cited for killing protected wetland trees. The NFL should hand down a life time suspension for this heinous act. Hold the press, no can do, he's already retired. Hopefully, I'm getting my point across. Stop talking about the Steven's BS and move on.

well this is good for boyd and also good for jeff. BA could be waiting to sign all of his draft picks before getting to jeff so he knows what kind of money is left over and if he can afford to cut simms

Drew, your point is well taken. You make it clear that you have an IQ below 70. Comparing a r@pe allegation to cutting trees down is one of the dumbest comparisons I've ever heard.

Bruce Allen must work some serious banker hours. He is so slow, by the time he gets around to signing all the draftee's, Garcia and anyone else who's contract needs attention, half the season will be over!

Stephen, what does this mean for last year's pre-season darling, Darby?

Darby will compete with Boyd for a spot on our roster. May the best special teamer win.

Slow night on the tube I see.

They get rid of Gradkowski ( Great character and very like-able person )
and sign Jermey Stevens ( A menace to society and a man who reportedly brings the mood of the locker room down )

GREAT JOB ALLEN, ANOTHER TEAM WISE CHOICE!

What is going on with Rick Razzano? i liked his potential. any chance the bucs bring him back?
