Mind-boggling feats from Bogle

Straight from the little-known fact department, an Arena Football League official informed us this morning of an interesting tidbit about the Bucs' newest acquisition, guard Phil Bogle.

Turns out, while playing for league champion Philadelphia last season, Bogle doubled as an eligible receiver and had seven catches for 60 yards, six of them touchdowns. That's as many scores as the Bucs' own Joey Galloway had in 2007. Galloway also has AFL ties as he is a part-owner of the Columbus Destroyers.

Stephen, did you know Gene Upshaw had pancreatic cancer? That's crazy. R.I.P. Gene

"Boggle is a wonderful game. It increases the vocabulary and is an enjoyable activity for the whole family. I've spent many wonderful evenings matching wits with my sons over a marathon session of Boggle."

Arena football...can't compare

Steve L

I too was shocked by Upshaw’s death.

As for Bogle, let’s keep it simple and hope he can block, though I suppose the fact that he can run and catch predicts some movement skills at a minimum. That said, a quick recovery from Joseph and solid fill in from Zuttah is the hope.

Bruce Allen

Bogle can dance, sing and play a heck of a harminica too.

Greg

Gruden likes to run highly complex plays, so maybe he will throw in the "Bogle & Roll" insteadu of using Kevin Carter.

Keep in mind here, everyone, I wasn't predicting that this guy will be a Pro Bowler. It was just a little item I threw out to spark a little conversation. I appreciate the difference in level of competition. It ain't even close.

Hey...Philly won the arena league title...Can't hurt to have another championship-experienced player in the locker room.....uh, right?

troy parker

did you see who else was sign yesterday from the phily soul? larry brakins! i wonder if he makes the squad?

jobucs

Stephen, thanks for the info. Very interesting. I have to disagree on the talent level though. I think AFL players are not that far from the NFL players. Just a break or two. Just ask Greg White!

Erick

Thats a great little tidbit. Can't hurt. Some of you people need to chill out with the criticism.

troy parker

just to clarify... brakins was signed by the jets, not the bucs!

Hey Hr. Holder, could you maybe tell Mr. Allen we'd all put him on our christmas list if he could make Anquan Boldin appear, I mean give 'em a first round and a player,.. like um Clayton for example,.. I'm sure I'm not the most original guy here,.. but the guy's screaming to get out of there, sheesh...

George Leslie Hicks

I think adding this offense linemen is just bringing in a body for practice purposes. I hope that no one gets serious hurt on both side of the ball. I hope a wr or two will seperat themselves from the rest of the group. And I wish that if Chris Simms is traded, it will be to another team that Tampa doesn't play this year. So Far I like what I saw espically last week up here in Dallas on NFL Network. Go Bucs
