No penalty for Stevens

Tight end Jerramy Stevens won't be fined for an arguably suggestive gesture made after scoring the tying touchdown against the Chicago Bears last Sunday.

An NFL spokesperson confirmed this morning that the play was reviewed by league officials -- as all plays are -- but no action will be taken.

DR: Plese, he was sending a message "you grabbed my man(Trueblood), so take that(TD)".
BTW; TO, Chad, and Moss are real "Saints" of the NFL. If you dont like the Bucs players, go root for the Pats, Boys, and Bengals(cinnicinati convicts).

Stevens rocks, great pickup by Gruden & Allen! Time to lock this guy up long-term with a big money deal.

Jonathan

oar, I keep hearing people say that Stevens was defending Trueblood and yet no one has told me how Stevens could make a gesture at the end of REGUALTION that was in response to something that wouldn't happen until 3 minutes into the overtime period. Maybe YOU have an answer to that?

Jeremy Trueblood

Jonathan, Maybe you didn't see the entire game. I was getting cheapshotted the entire 4 quarters. Also, did you watch the linemen the entire game? Trust me, you miss a lot of things while you are bashing my boy Stevens.

STIXX

True they(BEARS)were the ones cheating and taking cheapshots not the BUCS. Man what a bunch of crybabies. I record all the games and the refs missed at least 4 more calls that the BEARS were doing low-blows and face masking...what game was you watching?

Jonathan

LOL Ok, Jeremy. Whatever you say. Lord knows I don't want a lunatic...er...I mean 'intense guy' like you mad at me.

Actually, since I got DVR I've watched a LOT of line play. Trueblood and Penn had GREAT games, from a pass protection standpoint, and I'm not bashing Stevens at all. I'm just pointing out that the excuse- that his action had something to do with what Trueblood said- is a comepletely fabrication.

oar

Jonathan I guess you didnt watch the WHOLE game, happened before that. Also see Trueblood article on "dirty play". Stevens even said it was an inside thing to the bucs players, hmmm wonder what that means?

Tim

Jonathan, were you playing in the game? Were you on the sidelines? Do you have any idea when or how many times he was grabbed? Let me answer that for you. ahhh NO. I also DVR ed the game, but because of camera angle you can’t pickup what or when anything actually happened. How about this…. Trueblood could have been grabbed several times through out the game, which he mentioned in an interview. Told his team mates what happened in-between plays Stevens caught the TD made the gesture to send the game into overtime, then in overtime was grabbed again? You think that could be possible, Jonathan?

DR

Low blows are legal, as long as the player is not engaged with another player. Ethically, it's not the right thing to do, but it's legal.

DR

Jonathan, you actually expect a loser like Stevens to tell the truth?

Hardhat0038

Shut up DR! You're a b-tch behind a keyboard and Stevens is an NFL player,.. seems like you're the loser, and I'm sure Stevens is up nights worrying about your whiny as-..

Erick

Stevens is a piece of crap. Don't even put he and Trueblood in the same sentence. He's a pig and thats all there is too it.

Drew

The fact is they were unable to interpret the gesture. Such as the middle finger which is an international gesture of well being and happiness. The throat slash is another well known gesture.

The NFL Muckie Mucks need to find a way off Muckie Muck island and find themselves an affordable gesture interpreter.

I'm available at the right price. My credentials are a PHd in gesture interpretation.

The Stephens gesture interpretation is on the house.

What Stephens was communicating with the groin slash is "You Mess With The Blood You Get The Bone"

STIXX

mukie-muck?

Jeramy Stevens

Thank you for the words of support...

But please, you make me nervous when you use terms like "lock him up long term".

derrick

incase anyone here didn't notice the bucs aren't exactly the poster franchise for moral fiber. we're pirates. deal with it. love the play out of stevans. little over the top with the celebration....maybe. would anyone here prefer he not make that play??? get over it. thats who he is. Go Bucs!

DR

hardhat, you just came out of the closet. You must be Stevens lil bit--. I'm not afraid of Stevens, he only beats up women. Ask Stevens why he was run out of Seattle? What the Steelers and loud mouth Joey Porter did to Stevens on the field was disgusting. The Steelers should have been charged with sexual assault.

Drew

STIXX,

Muckie Muck is someone who believes they are better than and above everyone else.

fred flintstone

he really would love to do "harm" to every woman at all bucs home games!
