Trueblood: I'm not a dirty player
Bucs right tackle Jeremy Trueblood dismissed accusations by several Chicago Bears defensive linemen that he is a 'dirty player.'
The Bears accused Trueblood of igniting and overtime scuffle last Sunday that resulted in Chicago cornerback Charles Tillman being flagged for a personal foul -- a penalty that led to the Bucs' 27-24 win.
The Bears claimed that Trueblood took swings at Adewale Ogunleye and Tommie Harris while on the ground. Trueblood has accused an unidentified Bears player of grabbing his genitals.
"I'm not trying to be dirty, I'm just trying to play hard,'' Trueblood said Wednesday.
"It's a thin line, it's a mutual respect line that I try to tiptoe every week. I try to be respectful. I think everyone else tries to be respectful. But every once in awhile, I guess sometimes people's tempers flare.''
There's an outside chance Trueblood may have his old linemate back this weekend. Right guard Davin Joseph, who has been out five weeks with a broken foot, may participate in practice on a limited basis this week.
"It's hard to say what you really consider practice,'' Joseph said. "I don't know what role they'll have me doing today. I'll find out as practice goes and hopefully, as the week goes on, everything goes right.''

THATS WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT! SOMEONE GRABS MY STUFF IM GOING TO DO MORE THAN PUSH HIS HEAD INTO THE GROUND....IM GOING TO BREAK THE AZZES NECK! KEEP ON TRUCKIN' TRUEBLOOD

Trueblood is a dirty player... know what though, football is a dirty game. I like TBs style on the field.
Posted by: JC | September 24, 2008 at 01:03 PM
I agree JC. I feel like Tampa's tough attitude on the field will help them. They've never had that since I've been a fan for the past 12 years or so. I'd like to see teams come in here knowing they are in for a dog fight. They know they won't be able to push our guys around.

I wouldnt call him dirty, but like he says he walks a fine line. But the thing is the bucs need a player like this to get the team fired up. we need more attitude anyways.

It's typical whining by the losers. Bears can't explain why they failed miserably so they blame Trueblood. It's the easy way out.

Trueblood's statements had two audiences with two messages.
NFL refs:
I am not a dirty player.
NFL opposition:
If you grab my stuff, you feel the pain.

I love it. Trueblood is a beast, he's not going to let anyone get cheap shot on him or anyone else on the team. Now all we need is for Sears to get nastier and we will have a nasty line that will put fears in everyone's hearts.
Posted by: Ra'Shad | September 24, 2008 at 01:48 PM
Hell, I had that happen clear back in high school. I told my line coach about someone grabbing me after a tackle and he said, drive his a-- back thru the goal post, and if you back down I'll kick your a--! I'm glad the offense isn't taking crap from anybody! Kirk

He is a down right dirty player.
Lies to cover up his reason for doing what he did.

Phil move back to Chicago!
Posted by: steve | September 24, 2008 at 02:59 PM
Darren, I fully agree. I don't want a nice guy on the line. I want a bulldog. I saw the replay and he was certainly giving it to someone in the pile, but if they did resort to grabbing his junk, then I'm glad that he didn't take it.
Posted by: Chris | September 24, 2008 at 03:13 PM
It's obvious that the Bears D-line was frustrated because they couldn't put Griese on the ground, and how many times have we seen frustrated players give a little extra at the end of a game. Every really good offensive line gets a reputation for being dirty. There is something about an offensive line that plays tough and fights hard that defensive lineman don't like, I wonder why?

I Love This!!! The Buccaneers are gaining a reputation of being down right nasty.
Folks, I believe we have an Offensive Line with an attitude.
Posted by: Drew | September 24, 2008 at 03:17 PM
Had my junk grabbed way back, sat on his neck with my elbow. never knew skin could turn that color! They were just as nasty and you really don't want to know what goes on @ the bottom of those piles. Really! Usually you only cry about this stuff when you have lost.

Complaints by defensive linemen that couldn't get to the quarterback a single time even though they had nearly 70 opportunities. I think its fair to call that sour grapes.
Posted by: Vince | September 24, 2008 at 03:27 PM
I grabbed a guy’s package one time... but we were at a party and everyone else was grabbing too. Well ok twice, but the first time doesn't really count because I was drunk. I Heard from my inside source in the cowboys’ locker room its normal and they kinda enjoy it.

If You grab a fruitbasket..you get punch..ed
Posted by: joe | September 24, 2008 at 03:57 PM
Whatever BABIES!!! He may have taken some swings but the guy on the other end deserved them. Not to mention their center Kreutz has a reputation himself and I don't see them bashin' him.

WE ALL KNOW THE BEARS GOT THERE'S IN TO! SO THEY NEED TO STOP BIT!@ING & BLAME THEM SELVES FOR THE L
Posted by: BILL H | September 24, 2008 at 04:43 PM
Is that what they meant when the Bears tried to get a sack? it was Truebloods
Posted by: d | September 24, 2008 at 05:03 PM
Dirty players seek to hurt other players (ask Earnest Graham what his definition of 'dirty' is and how his legs feel). Players with a mean streak play from snap until the last echo of the whistle dies down.
Trueblood is the latter, not the former. For those of us who have felt the Bears are a mean, intimidating defense, I think it's safe to say we've lost a little of that respect from these kinds of pansy comments.
We play hard in the dirty south. The Bears' D looks like the LARPing Urlacher from that Old Spice commercial.

My Tony Romo doll grabs my package every night. What is the "little" deal.
Posted by: DR | September 24, 2008 at 05:15 PM
And this serves as a public service announcement to the rest of the NFL: If you want to touch the Truejunk (and obviously you would), you're going to need an invitation (or good insurance).
Posted by: Nate | September 24, 2008 at 05:15 PM
Wow D ! You're right!! the bears only sack was Truebloods!! Maybe the bears can sign Clay Aikon as their ball boy!!
Posted by: joe | September 24, 2008 at 05:18 PM
It sounds like the only sack the Bears got in 67 chances was hanging off of Jeremy Trueblood.
Sissy's...

James---- too funny sacked by sack
Posted by: Andrew | September 24, 2008 at 05:42 PM
I'd rather he be dirty than get pushed all over the field like some of our previous O-lineman. Maybe this will put opposing D's on notice. Mess with the bull, get the horns.

adam u should be happy that they call u a dirty player that means you're not to be messed with!!!!!!!!!!!!! that what we need up front BIG NASTY DIRTY PLAYERS THAT THE KEY TO OUR SUBER BOWL RUN

So here is a lesson for everyone DO NOT grab Trueblood's junk if you see him, for god sake don't!
Posted by: Steve | September 24, 2008 at 11:17 PM
Trueblood has the attitude that all successful linemen have. Can't wait to see the line when DJ comes back only weakness is LT and maybe Zuttah can take his place.
Posted by: shane | September 24, 2008 at 11:35 PM
Hey, it is a rough and tumble game. It is about time we have some people on the team that has the balls to fight back instead of crying about it the way Chicago is doing. HEY CHICAGO "WANT SOME MORE CHEESE WITH THAT WHINE?. Do you think for one moment that Chicago are the innocents that they claim to be?? Watch the game again and see who instigated most of the problems and I do mean watch it close.
Posted by: John | September 25, 2008 at 01:24 AM
trueblood played a smart move. nobody grabbed his dick. he ignited a fight banking on the notion that the guy throwing the second punch gets called for the foul. after being dominated by the bears D in OT, the last chance for saving the game was to draw a foul. He got it! bucs are lucky tillman didn't have the self-control to restrain himself.
The fact remains that you won a game because of a bad call. Don't bank on your "super bowl run". You can have your pseudo victory for now. As a former NFC central member, i'm sure the pain of being dominated year in and year out by the bears has not yet worn off.
Posted by: adam | September 25, 2008 at 04:47 AM
Adam - Are you a freakin moran? Dominated by the Bears year in and year out? Put down the crack pipe and go get your trailers tag renewed before they haul off your tin can of a house!
Truth be told, since 1996 the Bucs are 10-7 against the Bears - now on what planet would that winning record be considered a losing one let alone getting dominated?
Get over it...Chicago hasn't been a force of any kind in the past 20 yrs! Even their faux Super Bowl appearence was a sham built on an easy schedule and (1) awesome kick returner - It should be an embarrassment that any defense - let alone one who percieve themselves to be elite can let a mediocre QB whom the Bears felt was not good enough to make their talentless QB rotation, drop back 67 times to pass and not bring him down. Tell the overpaid & over rated defense to layoff the brats & beer at halftime and get their fat a%ses in shape to play a complete game, so they don't have to make up excuses like "the big bully in the red jersey hit me ref..."
What a bunch of freakin cry babies - again GET OVER IT!!
As the great Denny Green said "They were exactly who we thought they were"

Hey Adam, you’re right. The Bears own a 35-17 all-time advantage. How about that… hers some more facts for you. That was then, this is now… now is when the Bucs beat the bears, now is when the Bucs are 3-1 and the bears are 1-3, now is when the Bucs O-line dominated the bears D. Cry as you will, but the Bucs have the W !!!
Posted by: Tim | September 25, 2008 at 08:41 AM
sorry, the Bucs are 2-1 and the bears are 1-2. after this Sunday thay will be 3-1 and 1-3, in fact the bears better hope the Lions don't whoop their butts or they will be 1-4

So Adam, what you are saying is the Bucs are not only nastier than the Bears, but they are smarter, too. Sounds like a good formula for winning football. By the way, the Bears are reknowned for being "chippy" with teams they only see once every three years. Problem is, many of the Bucs remember how "chippy" the Bears were two years ago when the Bears got a bad call to barely win an overtime game. Quit whinning little girl. Scoreboard.
Posted by: Duane | September 25, 2008 at 02:40 PM
the bears defensive line are goood people and would not stoop to trueblood's level of dirty play to win they tell the truth and took that loss like decent people. although they did not deserve the loss and the bears should have won they had good sportsmanship on their minds and were very polite.
