Adam Jones gets 4-game suspension -- at least
When the Bucs play the Cowboys on Oct. 26 in Irving, Texas, Dallas will be missing more than just QB Tony Romo and RB Felix Jones.
Here at the NFL owners meetings at the Vinoy, the NFL has just announced CB Adam "Pacman" Jones will be suspended for the next four games, and possibly more, for another violation of the league's personal conduct policy.
The league's official press release says Jones is suspended indefinitely, saying commissioner Roger Goodell will decide the exact length of the suspension after the Cowboys' Week 11 game against Washington. The decision on whether he can return "will be based on Jones' strict compliance with his NFL and Dallas Cowboys treatment plans as well as on evaluations of Jones' progress that will be provided to Commissioner Goodell by clinical experts retained by the NFL."
Jones was involved in an alcohol-related physical altercation with his team-employed bodyguard on Oct. 8 in Dallas that resulted in police being called. In a letter today to Jones, Goodell said Jones has displayed "a disturbing pattern of behavior and clearly inconsistent with with the conditions I set for your continued participation in the NFL."

Peace!

This is awesome!! No Romo, Felix Jones, or Pacman when the Cowboys play the Bucs. By that time T.O. will have completely flipped out as well. Sweet!
Go Bucs!

As a huge Titans fan I would like to say good riddance. Thank goodness we have Cortland Finnegan and dumped Jailhouse Jones!

Actually, the Bucs would be better off with Pacman in the lineup. He's proven this year that he can be beat 95% of the time.

This thug should be in jail.

Good... good... good!

I have to say, with Romo, Felix Jones, Pacman Jones, Sam Hurd, Terrance Newman and Mat McBriar (punter) all out for our game; we do have a good chance.
However, Dallas has just traded for Roy Williams from the Lions.....he is a serious playmaker.

I'm not one to beat someone when they're down (ok, yeah I am), but if I was currently serving time for any of the number of offenses Jones had committed, I'd be furious that he keeps getting so many chances.

Damn No Homo No Felix No Pacman. No Problem. If we lose we suck.

DR,
WHERE ARE YOU? I guess you finally have no comment. EXCELLANT!!!!!
Posted by: jobucs | October 14, 2008 at 06:29 PM
We don't need Romo, Jones, Newman, and Pacman to beat the lowly (and lucky) Bucs 2 weeks from now. It will be nice when B.J. sticks it to the team that treated him so badly after he won the SB for them (the Bucs haven't had anybody close to Johnson's caliber since.

DR, you are a moron. The Bucs didn't tread BJ badly. He played poorly! He was past his prime 5 years ago. Go break your Romo love dolls' pinkie finger so it will remain authentic.

DR,
You may have left one out. Tank Johnson might shoot someone between now and game time in two weeks. What will Coach Owens do then, or is it Coach Phillips. Watching the game against the Cards Sunday it was hard to tell who was in charge.
Posted by: jobucs | October 14, 2008 at 09:39 PM
We dont need all those fools to be out to win that game. They will get beat down no matter who is in or out. If Romo cant hold the ball against the cards D, what do you think will happen with us running at him? The only thing that worries me is the WR combo of ownes and williams. I know whoever Ronde is covering will have a great game... and that will prolly be owens! But no matter, just like last week was a statement game, so will 2 weeks from now.

This works out perfectly for DR.
If the Bucs win, DR whines, "We were missing half our team." The Bucs lose, DR goes home to make sweet love to his Jerry Jones doll.

By the way DR, where's your outrage about the Cowthugs hiring TWO repeat offenders? How's Jerramy Stevens behavior been?
Posted by: bobbyd | October 15, 2008 at 10:42 AM
I don't know who that DR is that posted before here. I don't think the Bucs are lucky. They have played well and could be 6-0 if they had a better coach and/or offensive coordinator. I think the same about the Cowboys.
BJ might be dead before the Bucs game if the Cowboys line keeps blocking like they did last week.
bobbyd, you should be ashamed of yourself. You're not a man. Anyone who even by the slightest of margins tries to justify what sissy Stevens did is an utter complete moron. I'd take Pacman, Tank, and even bail Rae Carruth out of jail before I sign sissy Stevens. As for his play on the field, Stevens should have retired after getting owned in every manner against Pittsburgh in the Super Bowl. Joey Porter took all of sissy Stevens manhood away. He was abused.

Getting into an altercation with your own body guard is far less of a crime than driving drunk speeding with a .20+ BAC. Thats a crime.
Anyways, it is no loss to the Cowboys. They will get their draft pick back if he's banned from football.
Posted by: DR | October 15, 2008 at 05:09 PM
The Cowboys gave a first, second, and I believe a fourth round pick in 2009 for another whiner to go with Coach Owens as another wideout. Which ego will win out remains to be seen. If I was a Cowboy fan I would very concerned about the price they just paid for another mouth in the already crowded lockerroom. Jerry is mortgaging the future on this year.

DR,
The problem with guys like you is that you have lots of words, but lack enough intelligence to make sense with them. Stevens was accused of a crime that he did not commit. There was no conviction. There wasn't even enough evidence for the prosecutor to try and put the case in front of a jury. But imbeciles like you believe that being accused of a crime is equivalent to being convicted. I can only hope that someday you get to feel the affect of such circumstances (being accused of a crime you didn't commit). It might teach you to understand and appreciate the legal system we are blessed to live with here in America.
Posted by: | October 16, 2008 at 08:56 AM
jobucs, do you go to the national enquirer for your sports info? They gave up a 1st, 3rd, and 6th round pick for him, which I agree, is too much, but there is nothing wrong with having too much talent. They have no excuses for poor performances. Garrett needs to call a better game.
The WR position is probably the hardest position to fill with a franchise guy. If Williams finds himself again, it would be a great investment. The Cowboys already have a lot of young talent so next year's draft isn't as important as other teams.

Me an imbecile? So what you're saying is that our "perfect" court system always gets it right. So i guess OJ is really innocent and that the murderer of his ex wife and her friend is still out there. If you read the Stevens case (if you can read and comprehend) and the players involved, you might have a different opinion.
The other facts are this: Stevens has done nothing to defend himself against some rather disgusting allegations against him. If the girl was lying, then why did Stevens pay her? Why pay someone for something you supposedly didn't do?
I find it funny you trust the legal system with such blindness. May you experience the wrath of corruption. May you have a daughter go through what that girl had to go through and be completely helpless because of a corrupt system.

DR,
Yup.
"If you read the Stevens case (if you can read and comprehend) and the players involved, you might have a different opinion."
You have not read the case, because there WAS no case. What you've read was a journalist's personal investigation. That is not even close to a "case". I DID read the Seattle Times article and there are plenty of allegations, but a newspaper article is not a prosecution and conviction. Clearly you don't believe everything you read in the newspapers do you?
A person cannot "pay" their way out of a criminal prosecution. A person CAN pay their way out of a civil lawsuit (which is what he did). He had already been cleared of the crime and would have had to have been dragged through the mud again if it went to court. It was simpler and cheaper to pay her off than it would have been to go to court and pay for trial lawyers.
Do I believe our system is perfect? Nope, but I trust it more than any other legal system in the world. If Stevens DID in fact do it, I hope he rots in hell. But this story is NOTHING like OJ's story. The prosecutor HAD evidence against OJ, but OJ's attorneys managed to dissuade a jury. In this case, the prosecutor didn't have any evidence. The criminal defense lawyers didn't even need to come into play because charges were never pressed.
Posted by: bobbyd | October 16, 2008 at 11:24 AM
The prosecution didn't have any evidence??? You didn't read anything. So now you trust the prosecution? Yeah, thats right, prosecutors would have no reason to falsify or hide evidence. Those 3 Duke lacrosse players deserved to be smeared all over the press. That prosecutor sure was legit.
The NCAA, especially the football department, is one of the most corrupt organizations in america. I've seen plenty of cases, though minor in comparison to Stevens, just disappear, even in the smaller colleges.
