Clifton Smith promoted to active roster
RB Clifton Smith has been promoted to the active roster, likely to help in the return game and supplement the depth at running back if Warrick Dunn (back) is unable to play Sunday.
Smith probably will take the place of rookie Dexter Jackson, who has been returning punts and kicks to this point. He has been under much scrutiny after his struggles in recent weeks. The Bucs play at Dallas on Sunday.
It's unclear at this point who will be released from the active roster to make room for Smith. The Bucs have not yet officially announced the transaction.

Let's hope this is a CinderFella in the making. The Bucs need one of their seemingly obscure players to jump out & take advantage of this opportunity. Who knows? It still may be Dexter who ends up excelling in the end.

Stephen,
All seems quiet on the Michael Bennett front.....what are the coaches' thoughts on Bennett. I would think with Dunn out, it would be Graham and Bennett, not Clifton Smith. Also, Bennett would seem to be a good candidate for returns....any insight why this speedster is not being used? He should have a good command of the playbook by now yet he saw more action last year.

I really liked what this kid brought to the table in preseason. For all the busts we have drafted, we really make up for them with the undrafted fee agent gems we bring in.

Clifton did well on kick returns in preseason but I am surprised as well that they would promote him and have to cut Davis, instead of putting Bennett back there.
