What a great game!!! Back to Buc Ball!!!

What more could we ask for? First place was on the line and the Bucs rose to the challenge. The NFL is not just about winning, it's about domination. The Bucs truly dominated the Panthers today and they are a good team. ALL positions short of the returner appeared well coached and prepared today. Something seems odd with DJax. I perceive there is more beneath the surface with him. Hopefully he will be coached up and begin to progress sooner than later.

alright so where are jay, dc, valrico rick, and all you other haters. All the true bucs fans that so support, I salute you. FIRST PLACE GUYS!!! You gonna bash the Bucs now? OFFENSE and the defense spectacular today. Next week FIRST place alone. Panthers have to play the Saints who will win. also I thought Gruden didn't like Garcia and Galloway. It didn't look that way to me, when I saw both of Grudens kids wearing 84 and 7 jerseys. You guys are the worst haters I've ever seen. I'll be waiting to read what you have to say this week now.

nice to see the bucs play well i am sure there are going to be a lot of posts bashing greise and praising garcia but he didnt play any better it was more a matter of bucs cathing passes and running the ball with the lead in the 2nd half. ha gruden called for all those runs against chicago or greenbay it would have been the same type of game but when you continually pass you will eventually be intercepted. just wanted to add these notes before greise gets his name dragged trhu the mud. that said great game go bucs 1st place baby. as im writing this arizona just scored on the opening kickoff against dallas

Great game plan by Kiffin and Gruden. Sitting Garcia, and getting him healthy, was a brilliant move. This coach wants to win. That is his motivation.

Still have concerns with the pash rush, specifically the front four. Secondary is making them look better than they really are. ex. (See Denver.)

indeed the pass rush is not very impressive but the run stopping is which in my opinion is much more important from a d-line hovan was one of the best free agents tampa has ever signed. i agree that the return game is poor d-jax is scared to get hit which is the worst thing you can have in a returner. he has the skill just cant get the nerve up to run ufield he wants to be untouched which will never happen unless bucs can use 25 guys on prs. bucs should have him stand back and just get tackled in practice just so he gets used to it.

Games like today's are a NIGHTMARE for the local media and the haters who call themselves "fans". Can't wait to hear what the excuses are...

What an awesome win for the Buccaneers. The defense played great, filling the Panther's receivers minds with fear because of their hard hitting tackles. The offense moved the ball well through the air, and amazing on the ground. Nice game for Dunn and props to Graham for his stunning run-blocking ability. This was an important win that I hope everyone can enjoy. Go Buccaneers!

P.S. Early leads a great thing to have.

Gruden should ask his father what he should do with Dex Jackson. Jim Gruden knows the answer.Send him back to high school

Defense, and special teamswin again. Fire Gruden now. Oh, and Greise can just stay on the bench until Jeff starts criying again.

Thre's always gotta be some punk with a garbage comment. I am shocked by the aabsence of all the haters who bash Gruden all week. Where are you now?

RWSIFP. we know you're a Carolina fan. Loser. Go back to your own board. Fire Gruden for what? Whooping Carolina's a-s-s?

I would like to point out that Sacks are not the measure of a pass rush, the QB's are getting rid of the ball before getting sacked, and are making poor throws, hurries are just as important as sacks.

I am sure Ian, Ron, and DUImeg will put their stupid Gruden Hating spin on it again. Should be a Bad Monday for the Radio Jocks

Bucs in 1st

There's a common ground between the Hater's and Lover's. We all want the Buc's to win each week. The Hater's express themselves negatively when the Buc's lose. This is the way we are. We have the same desires as the Lover's which is to see the Buc's win consistently in a dominating fashion. Today's game speaks for itself and I for one, being one of the Hater's hope this is the beginning of something very special.

One thing is for certain, when they play terribly my negative self (Hater) will always come out and I have no reservations in expressing what I think and feel when the game is ugly.

Only time will tell where the team is headed this season. SB maybe? I sincerely hope the team quiets the beast in me by playing many more games in the fashion they played today.

Kudos to the Coaching staff and all of the Players.

We won in spite of the league not wanting us to. How many bull---- penaltys did the zebras call anyway. A sumersault celebration. Give me a break. We always have to beat the league for some reason. Why is that? Other teams don't have to. It has to be that Tampa is a small market team. We can win but we have to beat the league. We have so many unusual calls from the refs that you never see called in any other games. We don't seem to have a home field advantage like the Cowboys, Steelers, and some other high profile teams do. Why is that?

excellent question i was wondering when pumping your fist was changed to a taunting call when your 5 yards from any oposing player ive never even heard of a sideline penalty before they never showed a replay of what that was but i think a coach clapped in appreciation of a good play to get that one called on him. comon now its an emotional game you cant expect players to not react to some things.

If the NFL Commissioner has his way. This game will be played by Zombies (The Walking Dead) that show no emotion.

This being the case, we the living Fans will lose interest and the stands will be filled with Zombies chanting "I see dead people".

Nah! couldn't happen or could it?

This may come across as silly but I love the fact that every one of the "geniuses" on the OT picked Carolina and now have to eat their words. I imagine that will be the case with most sports commentators.

Hahaha...

i never pay attention to the "expert picks" given by espn or fox or whoever mainly because of their reasoning. when they recap games they always say the same thing... oh that qb looked uncomfortable.. maybe hes haveing an off game.. the ofense seems out of sync.. the o just cant get going rather than just say the bucs defense is unbelievable they look for flaws in the opposing ofense just give credit where its do is all i ask if its every offense that seems to just be off or out of rythm when thay play the bucs its because of the bucs being great

Garcia looked sharp today and I guarantee John Fox is never gonna send Steve Smith on a short slant route against Tanard Jackson again, what a beautiful hit. Also, Warrick had the Panther's number all day long.

Welcome back Garcia!

Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's all I got.

What a game by Penn and the o-line! D shut down the run did you hear anything about peppers? The return of Garcia just reminded everybody why he is the best qb we have and that griese is a #2. barber looked a step slow and d jax is looking like a wasted pick with all the other receivers drafted in the 2nd round doing really well. Clayton, Haye, Ruud A Bryant, A Smith and phillips looked like they wanted ext and deserve them. Wow talib!

Graham and Dunn are incredible and are making everybody forget caddy... is there anything graham doesn't do? Zuttah looked rally good again. Denver looks like a fluke game where the o line wasn't cohesive with joseph and thin air. no idea where the bucs will draft next year...

Dunn and done.

Great to see our boys get a much needed win against an opponent that much needed to know we can beat them.

can we trade dexter jackson for a bag of peanuts?

Nice to see our "real" QB today. Moving around in the pocket, sustaining drives and a, well commitment to the run! Let us hope Chuckie and Jeff have buried the hatchet. The Bucs won three games in spite of Greise but today, we saw things the way they were supposed to be all year.

Dominating performance, indeed!

The zebras obviously hate the Bucs because of Gruden always yelling at them.

Okay, you want to hear the truth. It was a good win. YET it was a WIN that was on the strength of an inexorable force on defense that was crushing everything in it's path! 3 ints and a blocked punt returned for a Touch down, left a Panthers team demoralized! Gruden made a couple of great calls, such as the play action that led to a TD in the red zone. The problem is, can the Bucs realistically expect to constistantly dominate on predictable runs and a defense that MUST get 3 turn overs a week to win? WE SO CALLED HATERS, just want to see the team achieve balance! Everyone knows, that without the turnovers the Bucs are in trouble! We haters blame the play calling. Let's flip the script and pretend that it was the BUcs who had 3 turnovers. Wouldn't it be nice to know that the team had some "down the field" plays that could actually get them back in the game? That being said, Gruden did very well this week. However, to win a championship, we need balance on offense, plain and simple. That's all we so called haters are asking for.-GO TAMPA!

Where are all the Gruden and Buccaneer haters at? This team along with the coaching showed that they can be the real deal and possibly produce something special this year. Garcia looks healthy and the defense is getting back to the normal dominance we are used to. If we dont turn the ball over or get huge offensive penalties you see what we can produce. The Defense, offensive scheme, and the special teams had a complete outing and it was wonderful to watch. Also, what about Graham playing fullback? This guy does it all. The Rays and Bucs are looking very solid and Tampa sports is so exciting right now. The question is going to be how they handle the success. GO BUCS!!

Lilargue,
If you say the offense today was great, you didn't watch the same game. The offense was okay. The defense set up a very short field for our 1st TD. The offense did pound the D into submission on the last drive though. Great? NO! Enough to win with a great defense, yeah baby!

Your mom,
NO! A bag of peanuts for Dexter Jackson is way to high a price. But, a bag of peanut shells....yes sir ree!

Also, on the comments on balance or the people who think you cant win unless you get a 50 yard bomb on every play can go back to bandwagon school. In this league with the parity a WIN is a WIN no matter how its done. I dont care if the bucs win by 50 or win by 1 some games are going to be awesome and some are going to make you drink. You have to remember that both teams get paid to play and its about who can get the "w" no matter how unconventional it may be to you or anybody. Real Bucs fans just want wins not fantasy numbers.

Hi there, I'm Jay, and I'm a hater. With that being said, I've gotta stop and say one big thing.

Earnest Graham was nothing short of amazing today. Granted, Dunn did a great job of just gashing the middle of the field behind a SOLID o-line, with Zuttah showing me a lot more than Penn did. But the reason I've got to give Graham props, is because with Storer and Askew out, he stepped up, filled the role of fullback, and absolutely shocked me. Seriously. Blocking schemes? The much heralded Panthers defense stacked 8 or 9 in the box, and Dunn still found was to pick up 8 yards at a time. That's just amazing. Great job on offense, special teams, and defense - an all around win.

But, as a hater, it is my responsibility to say that Gaines Adams, Derrick Brooks (twice) and Ronde Barber all had shots at easy interceptions, and they dropped em. Also, no sacks. But if you hold Delhomme and Steve Smith to 3 points, you can't be that upset.

all in favor of putting bennet in for pr say aye. garcia was ok its not to hard when the wrs catch the ball for a change and you run when you have the lead which would have provided the same results vs gb and chi eliminating most of the negative plays by griese i dont blame griese his play and garcias play are similar. that said im not sayig garcias bad i think he should start till he gets hurt which he probably will just saying grise was more a victim of circumstance

Just as an aside...what is the crowd chanting at raymond james stadium when bucs are playing defense? i've never been to a game since i live in NY but i hear it at almost every home game.

We're talking about balance, it worked today, will it work down the stretch? Will it work in the play-off's? Will it work when the bucs are down by two scores? WE need to be able to battle in Rain, sleet, and snow, and no one expects or wants to "Bomb" on every play. We need to be tactically flexible, to win in any situation, and being one dimensional is not going to be enough to do it! Yet, today was a great win, and i a great place from which to build, and for that I am excited!

I'm a hater, huh? I hate it when people call me a hater! Actually, I believe my point was made! No Galloway, but the Bucs still won! The Bucs have talent, and my emphasis is usually on the gameplan. I was very impressed by the way the Bucs handled the Panthers, so what was the difference in Denver? It was the gameplan! I love the Bucs, and have since 1976, it's bad gameplans and play calling that I hate! 'Nuff Said!

8:56 we chant anything and everything when the defense is on the field from player's names(like Ruuuuuud! or Juuuuune!) to one side of the field saying "Tampa" and the other saying "Bay" and then you have the classic Defense(stomp your feet) Defense

Gruden is a complete JERK

after being at the game and seeing how good a job that garcia did, that should be a statement of how well garcia can dirct the offence and that greise should only see the playing field during warmups. garcia threw the ball very well and most important is that he didn't give the ball to the panthers. if greise was playing then who knows, he was on a good streak with the INTS.

if griese played the outcome woukd have been the same

I love the aggression...but the penalities are going to shoot us in the foot.Getting a penality after each turnover isn't good. It cost us at least 3 points when a penalty forced Bryant to try a 51 yard field goal. In a close game 3 points is a lot! Love the Bucs...but we need to clean it up!

Great game! One problem, all of the stupid show-boating penalties. Come on guys, act like you've done it before and will do it again.

GOODBYE GRIESE (and his 6 INTs in 2 games)...HELLO GARCIA!!! This is the way it should have been from the start instead of GRUDENS ego and personal BS getting in the way. BRING ON SEATTLE!!!

For anyone who ever complained about us having too many QB's, ask Bellichek how he feels right now!

Jay, I gotta disagree with you on the Gaines Adams interception opportunity. If you expect him to catch that pass, than Adams should be the starting WR on the all-world team. First, he's not expecting such a horrible pass like that to come to him, and second, if the ball was a rubber dodge ball, not many people would catch that. It looked like Delhomme was pegging Adams. That pass made no sense.
Garcia looked like the guy who should have been given a bonus before the season started. He made precision passes and got extra time when needed, and mst importantly, didn't give the other team the ball.I still have questions for Gruden's play calling. I think he passed his mutated genes to Jason Garrett.

Good game today. The offense was efficient, but unimpressive. Defense and special teams were outstanding. What a waste of a second round pick on Dexter Jackson. If he's not tripping over the yard lines he's running backwards and losing 15 yards.

What I really find unfair, is that most of you fools talk like defense, special teams, and offense rae all separate teams, all to fuel your dislike of Gruden, but the offense was efficient, the run game solid, and we made big plays. I know the Defense made big plays, but Christ, that's who they are.The point is the offense backed it up. That is what Gruden offense looks like when everyone's on the same page, and catching the ball, etc. Like it or not, he has put a good product on the field, on the O- side of the ball. I choose to look at it as a turning point, all the pieces looked great. Carolina's defense was a really good defense, just like Chicago, and ATL wasn't. Stop bashing Gruden, please, noone's gonna fire him because you ask for it, and we are winning games. It's the first game that they seemed to have gelled and Jeff looks good, it's ok to like Griese and Garcia, they both play for the Bucs.

Jeez, can't the Gruden haters and lovers all get along? Especially with the hard times a' comin?

Don't waste valuable emotion on Johnny Boy. He is who we think he is -- a .500 coach with huge strengths and huge weaknesses. One problem is that his act wears thin over time, and all of the cute little facial tics and football speak doesn't sound so fresh after 6 years. I would guess that some of the vets like Joey G and Jeff G have had just about enough of Gruden.

That said -- is there anything better than your team building a big lead and then running the ball down the throat of your exhausted opponent? When he hangs 'em up, E. Graham could end up like the A-train -- a local, lovable, blue collar athlete-hero.

There is probably nobody more relieved than our strange out-of-town owners. Not too cool to be $30M plus under the cap, after you jack up ticket prices in a recession. Guess they need the jack to prop up Man U., which is bleeding cash.

Last time I checked the First Amendment has not been revoked (yet). What is wrong with being critical of the Coach as a fan? When the coaches and players do their job (like today) we should acknowledge them but if they play bad or make bad decisions as coach we have every right to point that out also. Coach Kiffen and the defense have been consistently good for many years, but on the other side it is very inconsistent. The record speaks for itself. Being that our head coach is also offensive coordinator I feel it is pretty fair to hold him accountable. If that makes me a "hater" than so be it.

just to note qb coach does call some plays gruden does not call evey offensve play

Gruden does not call every play but being that he acts as his own Offensive Coordinator I would say that makes him responsible for the offense, right? In some past years he has done it badly enough to get himself fired in my opinion.

if winnining 3 diision titles means he should be fired i agree.

if not then he has earned the right to take a chance and error on a few plays remember the worst season he had was with a 6th round rookie starting

OK, I'm not wanting to focus on any more negative stuff........It was a great win today against a very good Carolina team. But don't bash people as "haters" for being critical. The very best players are the ones most critical of their own performance, looking at how they can get even better. When D. Brooks was in his prime playing his position as well as anyone has ever played it he was critical of his own performance, looking at what he could do to be even better.

dexter jackson needs to call up d. sanders and ask for some special teams training. dexter jackson can be a threat he just is full of raw talent. garcia had it easy today. our d gave him good field position. and also i think ima get a josh bidwell jersey.(he is the man)

gruden also won a little known game as the superbowl: or those who say dungy's team won id like to remind you gruden recruited my fav buc wr ever j. jerivicious (probably spelled that wrong sorry) and a te named ken dilger who were instrumental in the playoffs leading to the superbowl

The NFC South was pretty weak last season. If we win the division title this year I'll be more impressed.

Yes, Gruden won the SuperBowl and I'm grateful for his contributions in that regard. Some of the players in that game have since retired from the NFL due to an inability to perform at a high level. We don't play players based on how they performed in the past no matter how great they were. We should also employ coach'es based upon how well they coach in the present, not in the past.

Great game plan and execution. They ran the ball, ran it, and ran some more. Nice downfield use of tight ends.

Big D is back and getting the take-aways.
This is Buc ball, well played.

Only thing I saw as negative was too much acting like rookies and stupid penalties.
They need to act like pros who have been there before - like Brooks.

These penalties will hurt them with the better teams.

Don't smile on the field! You may draw an unsportsman like conduct penalty.....

One win and you think they are Super Bowl material.

Ditto on Donald Penn. The man came through huge yesterday! The only time you heard Julius Peppers' name was when the commentator said "we haven't had to mention Peppers today". Truly a work of art Donald, congratulations! This was a guy Kenyatta Walker never, ever could handle for 6 years.

Gruden only has to please the Glazers, the rest of you don't matter - that includes: fans, haters, band wagon jumpers, Buc quarterbacks, talk radio show hosts, fantasy football guy, camaro driving has beens, priests, hooters waitresses, Big Nasty, Kurt Warner's wife, McCains spin doctors (nice job there too), orphans, die-hard season ticket holders, car detailers, craig's list parnter swappers, house flippers, Casey Anthony, guy who rides m/c without helmet, the McKay family, Rome's clones, Raymond the Ray, guy holding "I need tickets" sign, former Mayor Bob Martinez, Warren Sapp's fat butt or any other Tampa dipsh*t who doesn't have enough sense to sit back and enjoy being atop of the division after 6 games. Go Bucs! Go Rays!

Did anyone notice that Michael Clayton had a pretty good game too [special teams]? Also the Zebras had an awful weekend in my oppenion---the Texas-Oaklahoma game, the No. Carolina-Notre Dame game, and of course, the Buc game. I think it was entirely stupid to call both unsportsmanlike penalties on the Bucs. Are we not supposed to celebrate at all?

I think someone mentioned it before, but I'd like to see Michael Bennett on the field more - as a receiver. He has always had decent hands, but with that kind of speed, the ability to hit and take a hit, he would be the perfect replacement for Galloway. He's younger, more sturdy, and frankly, wasted on the roster in his current role.

Come on guys, make it happen.

GO MIGHTY BUCS!!!! I just loved watching the ST get the 1st turnover for a touchdown! Bisaccia (sp?) has been quietly building his crew into a good unit for years. I know Dexter J is still a rookie; give him a break. If he doesn't get better as the season wears on then he's a bust.

What more can I say about the D secondary?? You could see them developing in the preseason. Raheem Morris is destined for bigger things in the NFL but at least we have him for now.

Jeff Garcia seems to understand something that Chucky doesn't get. He knows the talent of his O teammates. He trusts and shows his confidence in them. It's contagious and the Bucs are a very close-knit bunch in the locker room. Are you paying attention Jon Gruden? Start trusting your O; take the bit out of their mouth and let 'em go. Why not? They are the most talented O we have ever had, and I have been a die-hard Bucs fan since 1979.

Earnest Graham, Greg White, Warrick Dunn, etc. are first-class human beings. They make me proud to be a football fan!!! ;-)

Unbelievable the hatred towards Gruden. Did he sleep with your wives? The guy wins division titles regularly and we are in every game. What more do you fools want out of a coach? I just don't understand the negative ignorance. If you would take the time to check his winning percentage against the best ever, you would find it is not far off and as this team (which he has built from the ground up) develops his percentage will go up also. This is just the beginning of a long winnin era for the Bucs! Fu@k all of you haters!!!

Kurt, ask Gruden if he wants my ex-wife's number. If he can find a way to crack that defensive front, I'll leave him alone.

I knew it was possible for Tampa to dominate. They played lights out & did it. It doesn't really matter how much all of you who dislike Gruden contradict yourselves with your two cents; the "haters" cancel themselves out. If you any of you "haters" were bold enough to say it to Monte Kiffin's face, which I'm sure none of you haters are that brave, all the anti-Gruden comments that have been posted here, I would guarantee that you would get an earfull from Kiffin; he probably wouldn't waste much time on you as he'd, more than likely, walk away in disgust. The real fans, God Bless You! The Bucs need us real fans who care, not the people who live in the past or rely soley on the past, yet so easily forget certain important facts. There is more to this team than Gruden, but he continues to prove he's more of a man than all of the haters hiding behind a keyboard.

The game was great, if you're a Bucs fan. Besides Storer's injury, what went wrong? The D is capable of doing this all year. The offense did its job; with no turnovers, now, 18-0 under Gruden. I'm very impressed with the Geno Hayes blocked punt return for a TD; what a difference maker that set the tone for the whole game! Warrick Dunn, great game; so glad he's a Buccaneer again. Of course, Graham is a true team player, unlike a lot of "fans"; got to love that! I'm very happy for what this team has accomplished so far, but it's not over, a lot of football left. However, this was what I hoped would happen; I believe! Who cares if fairweather haters jump on board, or not? I know I don't. Seattle has nothing to lose at this point, so Tampa has to remain focused, & I'm confident Gruden will have them extremely prepared.

Jesse and Kurt, You can drink all the Kool-Aid you wish, but your still idiots if you think one cannot be a Buc's fan and be critical of the coach at the same time.
Gruden is 36-44 since the SuperBowl despite having a top ten defense most seasons. Those numbers seem to indicate that there IS room for critcism. Sorry to interrupt your Gruden Lovefest.

After tonight's MNF victory by the Browns, WR Braylon Edwards (1 TD and 154 yards) when asked what the difference in the game plan was, responded, "In previous games the defenses would sit back 15 yards and not worry because they knew we weren't going to throw over their heads. Tonight we set up the deep ball with the short routes". That in a nut shell is our criticism of Gruden. We believe that we are winning DESPITE the play calling on offense. Imagine what this team is capable of if they add the deep ball? We aren't asking, repeat we ARE NOT ASKING, to be the Vertical offense. We just want to see balance! We don't accept the "we don't have speed guys" argument, because "T.O", "Jerry Rice", and even "Larry Fitzgerald" are not considered speed guys. Believe it or not, we believe in Gruden, we like Gruden, we think he has the brains and the plays, we just think he needs to actually use them and stop playing scared! He needs to call playa as fierce and as unbridled as Monte's defense!

LarryS, if you read all my posts, you would know that I agree with you: you can be a Bucs fan & criticize Gruden; I did that more than once after last week's loss. Generally, there should be less criticism after a win, but there are several who visit here often & are seemingly more critical after a Bucs win than a Bucs loss, which implies a genuine hatred for Gruden for whatever reason, & literally hating people is a dangerous thing--I would like to think that most people would agree with that; those who don't are the real idiots LarryS referred to. When it comes to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, I am a die-hard fan. I have a database of Tampa Bay history, lots of stats, which would surprise a lot of people because they don't necessarily add up; what one would think was a winning team wasn't, & vice-versa. Vince, I agree that throwing down the field is essential & stated that in a post last week; it keeps defenses guessing. I don't think we've seen the last bomb downfield because Gruden won't, or doesn't have the talent, or doesn't like to. Against the Broncos, he didn't think they'd be successful throwing deep, which I do NOT agree with. That was what Denver wanted, & it helped them win. The receiver who goes deep doesn't need speed. Size & great hands can make up for that, but to be honest, the receiver doesn't need to catch the ball; the ball just needs to be thrown deep, whether it's overthrown, out of bounds, even underthrown, just as long as it's not picked off. Offensively, though, against the Panthers, I have no complaints. Dexter Jackson didn't have a great game, but I like the kid. It's a matter of time before he does have a great game.
