Paris Warren back . . . sort of
The Bucs have brought back an old friend: WR Paris Warren.
He'll join them on the practice squad as they attempt to shore up their injury-depleted receiving corps. Warren will be joined by another practice squad addition, LB Kyle Shotwell.
The Bucs already had one open spot on the practice squad after promoting WR Brian Clark to the active roster last weekend. The other spot was created when they released FB Ryan Powdrell.
Warren was released by the Bucs in the preseason after not making the final cut. Shotwell was on the Eagles' practice squad in 2007 and spent the 2008 offseason with the Colts.
The Bucs worked out several receivers on Tuesday, including former UCLA standout Matt Willis, and are possibly considering additional moves at the position with several injuries still unhealed. Joey Galloway, Maurice Stovall and Ike Hilliard are each in jeopardy of missing Sunday's game.

I think it's time to put Galloway on either IR, or deactivate him. He's taking up a valuable roster spot, and not contributing anything but headlines about why he isn't playing. We're halfway into the season and so far he's contributed almost nothing. It's time to move on and develop someone else.

I agree.

Jay, we could really use Galloway but you're right. If he doesn't show something soon, he's just eating up a valuable roster spot. Especially if Caddy is ready to play.

I have a feeling this will be Galloway's last hurrah for the Bucs. I don't get the feeling that Grudaddy is real happy with his pace of healing or desire to get back on the practice field. Add that to the swing and miss in round two this year and I'll bet I know what position we'll target in round one next year.

Glad to see Paris Warren back. He showed a lot of heart.
Regarding the draft: Didn't Matt Millen get enamored of the receiver position? At least we only blew a round 2 pick. Hope we don't do it again.
Memo to Dex (assuming he's still with us): Catch the ball. Run Forward.

That's why we got rid of him in Dallas!

Since Dex Jackson can't seem to offer anything in the return game and he is so fast, why is he not being tried out in the passing game? Heck, let him run deep on every play ...

Hopefully Galloway will come back and give us a nice healthy late season push. Letting him sit may allow him to be healthy, and not hurt like he was against the Giants last year.

Mike, don't forget Seattle before that.

Hey Mike- Who did you get for Galloway and where is he playing now?

Guys please. Joey has 3 1000 yard seasons. Keyshawn, kevin house, Mark Carrier, never did that. Wilder, Giles, Never did that.
he did it one year (06) where he was the only guy worth anything.
This happened in 04 when we got him, and all hes done is respond with those 3x 1k years.
I do agree this is probably the last year for him.

Jay:
For your info, Galloway has been deactivated for every game since week 3.
Also, it isn't hurting us to see if a guy that is still the fastest and most accomplished WR on our roster can get healthy and contribute. If he were to get healthy at the end of the season like he did in 04 and were to give us a true threat opposite of Bryant, our passing game could do wonders. This is definitely worth waiting to find out.

Wow - I actually agree with the typically ignorant Brandon on this one.

I agree. Bryant is stepping up big right now, as are Alex Smith and, shoot me for saying it, Jerramy Stevens. It would be sweet to have Galloway back and if that has to be for the last 4 games of the season, so be it.

I think it would be sweet for Art Monk to come back too, but since his age is getting up there, I would hope that Galloway can fill a veteran and leadership role of coaching Dexter Jackson into something special if he tried. We all know you "can't coach speed", which Dexter has plenty of, but why isn't he being helped by a veteran like Galloway to become a better returner and overall player. Those things ARE coachable and the Bucs staff must have seen him as coachable before the draft or they wouldn't have picked him.
But hey, Dexter if you are listening, forget the runaway tact and trust your wedge by running through them.

Call back Mark Carrier and Danny Peebles.

The Bucs should offer their 1st round pick next year to the Cardinals for Anquan Bolden.
