Paris Warren released in practice-squad moves

WR Paris Warren was released today as the Bucs made a couple of practice-squad moves.

In addition, G Matt Lentz and TE Jason Pociask were signed to the practice squad. Lentz, 6-6 and 320 pounds, was on the Steelers' and Giants' practice squads in 2007. Pociask was a fifth-round pick of the Jets in 2006. He has appeared in four games and has one catch for seven yards in four career games.

Warren was signed to the practice squad last week to increase depth at receiver after several injuries.

Ruthless league. Good luck to Warren!

Keep the info coming Stephen!

a 320 lb TE? Can you say Red Zone threat? I bet he moves pretty slow though.

that was the gaurd that was 320lbs....

Why release Warren (we need some depth at WR) when we have Smith, Stevens and Gilmore at TE? I know its just the practice squad, but how many TEs do we need on a team that has so much trouble making plays on O? Guess Pocziak's one catch was impressive.

Sad to think that last year Warren would have been the #2 or #3 receiver if not for the injury. It would seem that someone would give him another chance.

Sad to think that there are still idiots out there that believe Warren's exploits during those preseasons where he put up good numbers but against 4th and 5th string roster garbage wsa enough to make that guy anything more than a talentless preseason flash in the pan. Warren isn't particularly big, is slow and doesn't possess any qualities that make him a decent NFL receiver. If he were, he wouldn't have been drafted in the 7th round AND THEN cut to go through waivers and be on the PS his rookie season, then to clear waivers last season be put on IR AND THEN get cut this season, clear waivers and land on NOBoDY'S PS AND THEN get cut AGAIN.

It probably isn't too farfetched to believe that the same dummies that thought Brian Griese is/was a good NFL QB are the same space cadets that think/tnought Paris Warren would be a good NFL WR.
