USF's Moffitt joins practice squad

Former USF linebacker Ben Moffitt, who was released by the Houston Texans at final cuts, signed a contract on Tuesday to join the Bucs' practice squad.

Moffitt's addition, confirmed by agent Marc Lillibridge but not yet announced by the team, is an effort to add depth at the position with Barrett Ruud (knee) still questionable for Sunday's home game against Carolina.

Also, the Bucs had some interest in Moffitt before the draft and would like to take a closer look at him, Lillibridge said.

Awesome.......home town talent:-)

Don't know if he has the speed to play linebacker in the NFL, but it's good to see him get a chance. Hard working, blue collar kind of guy. Reminds me of Earnest Graham on the defensive side of the ball.

Hope he makes it.

Isn't this the guy who married his college sweetheart, cheated on her and she blasted him in the media?

Just checking.

I hope he's a better football player than he was as a "Playa" - Go Bucs!

Just like the SUCS, sign another low character slob.

That Kelly Leak is one bad mother. I asked him if I could borrow a nickel, he said if I don't come back next week with a dime, he'd break my arm. I like'em, he's got balls!

Dan,
Send me what your smoking !!

Dan: Help me out. It's been a long day for me. Huh?

Come on guys...classic cinema reference. Getting the bad kid to join your team despite questionable character. The Bad New Bucs strike again. Wonder if Gruden has to go see the Stones with the creep.

Kelly Leak was the tough kid in Bad News Bears.

I knew that ;)

I thought he was Chris Leak's brother.
My bad.

For the record, Ben didn't cheat on his wife, but decided he wanted a divorce, which then lead to an unproven allegation by his wife/exwife that she helped him write papers for his school work. A good team player and a good father, at worst, someone who asked his wife to help him keep up with his school work.

Tony,
Are you that gulible?

Can he play receiver? Gain seperation from the defense? Sign him...

The WHITE TIGER is HUNGRY! The WHITE TIGER is FEROCIOUS!

When those defensive players look at me I can see how them TREMBLE with FEAR of being DEVOURED by the WHITE TIGER.

The WHITE TIGER is on VACATION!

Hey!!! I don't touch or smoke that $%&#. Dan send me some too.

MOFFITT was an awesome player at USF. Can he translate it to the NFL? Dont know, but it would be nice if he does!

The Rays are the greatest story ever in the history of baseball, but i'm sorry, i'm not paying over a hundred dollars for a damn baseball game.
Moffit is a non story. Maybe he'll turn out to be a good CFL player, but he doesn't have the talent to be an NFL player.

Wow, you people act like you have never committed any mistakes. Every single paper you wrote in college was without any internet content? You wrote everything from scratch in your head right? Fools. His wife helping him with a paper is what a good wife should do. She was his partner in life! Besides, he isnt a doctor or something, every athelete gets help in academic work. Now the cheating is a different story, but that isnt proven and if she was limited his access to his children, she is in the wrong and should have been divorced from.

Unless you know moffit you should probably refrain from character attacks. I've known him for years and he is an outstanding person and father. Stick to judging what you "seemingly" know. Thanks:)
