Graham has severe high ankle sprain

We've learned some specifics about RB Earnest Graham's ankle injury.

It appears Graham has a high ankle sprain and also sustained ligament damage, too. It's still expected that he'll be placed on injured reserve before the week is out.

You might recall RB Michael Pittman suffered a very similar injury last season at Indianapolis. He missed the next five weeks before attempting a premature return that sidelined him for another game.

High ankle sprains can be very slow to heal, particularly when there is ligament damage, as in Graham's case.

Tough injury. Nagging. The ankle would be better off broken. Its a shame for Graham.

This is sad news. But look at the bright side. Atleast the Bucs signed Warrick Dunn in the offseason. Good back up. Still, Grahams, selflessness, and tough funning will be missed.

Shame... but atleast it's not Garcia.

Thanks for the update Stephen. If possible could you give us an update of what ex-Bucs might be out there worthy of resigning or of any RB's the Bucs might be interested in.

From Buccaneers.com; "Former Packers tailback and Northwestern star Noah Herron was signed on Tuesday to add depth to the backfield."

You people really think you know football?"If possible could you give us an update of what ex-Bucs might be out there worthy of resigning or of any RB's the Bucs might be interested in".no need to insult duane it's plan to see he is clueless i'll put him in the camel cluth and break his back and make him HUMBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!! there isnt a damn thing wrong with using dunn! take the "caddy's" keys and stick them up you're a hole's!

The Iron Sheik- how bout some English next time dumb dumb.

Ok i'll make it simple for the slow people. You can take the idea of cadillac williams doing anything big this season to help the team? and if you really think he will then you're the "dumb dumb" is that better?

I wonder how Bennett is liking San Diego, I hear its nice. I guess we'll see how a 33 year old, an undrafted rookie and a guy with one knee will fare. Let's just hope they can do well enough go give the passing game some room to breath and get us down the stretch. Oh, Ernest, I miss you already.

Hey, I think Duane was asking an honest question. Nothing wrong with that around here. As for your answer, I don't think they looked at any former Bucs, but as stated earlier, they did sign former Northwestern U and Packers running back Noah Herron. Don't know much about him but I suppose we'll find out more on Wednesday when the team gets back to work.

I think they made the right call. I really like what Clifton is doing. Yeah he fumbles a little bit here and there but let's face it. He is a rookie and an undrafted one at that. Getting rid of Bennett looks like a bad thing but obvisiouly they saw something in Clifton to get rid of Bennett. Clifton is a game changer. Really he will have another run back for a TD on a punt or Kick-off. He will break one running before the season is over. Now Caddy. I think he is going to surprise everyone. Look out everyone Caddy is back and will make something happen. When he hurt his knee at Auburn he almost quit but did'nt. Stuck with it and came back to have great seasons, and then a top 5 pick in the draft. That is awesome. Go get em Caddy, prove everybody wrong.

Stephen, any chance they pull an Alstott and start using Askew or Cook as a tailback in short yardage situations (kind of like the old Rhino Package with Lorenzo Neal)?

Whatever happened to Kenneth Darby? He wasn't that bad in the pre-season last year.

Darby plays for STL and has been posting some decent numbers of late.

I'm sure they'll do that with Askew a few times.

Rodney I couldn't have said that any better then what you did. slash Jr got a lot more coming. AKA clifton smith. They have to give him the ball more that's right and stop trying to have him go up the damn middle. Why in the hell you think is name is SLASH JR? DUH. LIL Clif they know what you can do. So do it. Now that you got those damn fumble out the way let's get a couple more for your uncle.

As to the question about Askew, I think we'll see that. Remember he got the ball on the goal line against the Vikes on Sunday. And he used to be a tailback at Michigan before he was moved out of necessity to fullback. He's a decent runner, or he at least used to be.
