Jermaine Phillips, Alex Smith practice a bit

It's hard to say whether either is close to returning to the lineup, but the Bucs' official injury report today lists S Jermaine Phillips and TE Alex Smith as having practiced on a limited basis.

Phillips broke his forearm at Dallas three weeks ago while Smith suffered a badly sprained ankle at Kansas City on Nov. 2. For Phillips, it's the first time he's seen the field since his injury. Smith said it was premature to say whether he might be able to play this week or not.

take another week off or so and come back stronger then before.

Finally some good news! Getting Philips back would be great for our run defense.

Raheem Morris is such a great coach. He really understands the talents of his guys. He has limited Philips exposure to covering a larger portion of the field while using his violent talent in run support. Philips has really shined under Morris and suffered the year he went to be DC of Kansas.

The Bucs shouldn't need Phillips and Smith to beat the Lions. If they do, they should start planning for the draft.

We have traditionally struggled against the Lions, even when we were really good so I would not expect an easy game. Factor into that the Lions coaches and players are familiar with our style of play and they are motivated to get their first win. It will be tough and if we are not careful, we could loose. This is that type of game.

Yeah, give them an extra week at least. If the Bucs can't soundly beat the Lions we are not as good as everyone thinks.

'Nuff Said! I sure Obama hope concludes his speech at the international conference on global warming with "'Nuff said" It would make him sound super smart like Valricky Retardo.

we're playing the Bucs North so this game will be closer than what it should be and I won't be surprised if the Bucs get beat.

The Bucs simply can't turn the ball over.

This is a 7-3 team that very easily could be 5-5 or 4-6.

We're not that good in a season where maybe 2 teams outshine all the rest.

I agree with RJ...if these guys can go this week, we need them. I'm more worried about an 0-10 Detroit team than most of the other teams we've faced this year. You could see how much they missed Phillips by watching the first half of that Vikings game. And Smith is a playmaker too.

The Lions are going to be hungry. they were ahead on Carolina last week and they've come close to beating the Bears, Vikings and Redskins. They have Culpepper now and Calvin Johnson is beginning to show some impressive ability to make plays. Luckily they have a pretty lame running game.

This could be a big weekend for the Bucs if they win and Atlanta manages to beat Carolina!!!

"This is a 7-3 team that very easily could be 5-5 or 4-6."

That's the typical Idiot Bucs fan, this is also a team that's like 8 plays away from being 9-1 or 10-0.
Freakin schmuck.

The Bucs shouldn't need Flip, Alex Smith or Caddy to beat the Lions. Yet for some reason the Caddy-Blog is full of people who are affraid of the Lions run defense and are sad Caddy will more than likely sit out.

I don't get the logic either.

NO SCHIT hardhat.

If I can remember correctly the Bucs fell short but had ample opportunities to win all three games they lost. Didn't the NO and Dallas game end with us still having possession inside the opponent's 30 yardline?

Some people are just plain dumb. This is the NFL, a 7-3 team is 7-3 for a reason... and luck doesn't have anything to do with it... heart, skill and determination does.

This is a good game for Caddy to get 1 or 2 carries and get that first hit out of the way. After that, let Dunn and c. Smith get them all. I am anxious to see what c. Smith can do. We all know that his fumbling is front and center now, so if he fumbles this game, we need to start the search for someone to help out the backfield cause he wont be the answer. As for flip and alex, its great that they are practicing, but dont rush them back. If they are more than 90% get them in there.

Exactly hardhat0038.

If I remember correctly we had two losses by 3 points and one by 4, pretty close to 10-0. Yes it can go the other way too but when this is supposidly your team you gotta be optimistic. Glad to see there are other people who would rather spend their energy cheering for their team rather than scrambling for things to complain about when we are in the playoff hunt.

Guys, I've gotta tell you...living up here in Michigan....I'm worried about this game. Yes, the Li-downs are pathetic, but I know how these games have gone in the past. If they lose to the pathetic Li-downs, we'll never hear the end of it! All of my friends are Lion's fans and I'm the only loyal Buc fan around. I sure hope they can take care of business! I'd like to see them put a complete game together and beat them soundly.

This game is is going to be ugly but we we have won 4 of the last 5 And the lions are not the lions of last year so i think we will be fine. And what ever you do just ignore dr and that idiot benchbarber for your iq Will be in great danger if you dont.
