Clifton Smith second-team All-Pro
Clifton Smith has added another unlikely achievement in his unexpected season: He's been named second-team All-Pro as a kick returner.
The Jets' Leon Washington was the first-team selection at the position. Smith was the only Buccaneer on the first or second team.
The All-Pro first team is a harder list to crack than the Pro Bowl roster. While the Pro Bowl has separate teams for the AFC and NFC, the All-Pro list is a league-wide honor.

Congrats to the Peanut, that is quite an accomplishment for an undrafted FA. But, if there are only two kick returners named to the pro bowl, it stands to reason these two would be the obvious choices for 1st and 2nd team honors so this is not exactly surprising is it?

Pretty amazing ride he's been on these past three months.
Congrats are more than due and delivered.

This is an impressive accomplishment with the fact that he only played part of the season. It did help that he did follow the worst KR in the game, but it is a great accomplishment nonetheless.

Great job Clifton! Your courage and determination are very much appreciated.

Leave it to DR to find a negative in the positive news about Smith. Classic. Predictable.

It's just a fact Vincent. It's lemmings like you who find positives in terrible coaching and are happy while watching a franchise suffer for six years and counting. There is always room for improvement. Ask the undefeated Patriots of '07 if they were still finding ways to improve or were they just sitting back fat and happy.

so has he or Bryant been resigned yet?

DR, thanks for proving my point. If you are nothing else, you are predictable.

The move to start him as the return man instead of Dexter Jackson, who played scared, was one of the two smartest moves made this past season. The other? Antonio Bryant… Great job Peanut....

All hail! The Great DR has spoke once again(not to be mistaken by the exact same thing he said last time). He followed the worst KR in the game? Say what Mark Jones and Spurlock both avg 28.6 and 27.6 and ranked 9 and 11 last year(repectively). I'd say they certianly weren't the worse, but I guess in that minute little brain of yours(you know the one that can only contain self proclaiming info.) you can't see the truth. BTW; if you meant Dexter Jackson(didnt play all year you know), even he wasn't last on the nfl stats overall kickreturn list, you a--.

Just for you haters out there, the Buccaneer offense set a franchise record with 5,456 total yards and the offense scored 361 points, the second-best single-season total in team history. Yeah they were terrible get rid of Gruden...blah, blah, blah. GIVE ME A BREAK!
