Linebackers coach Bradley hired as Seattle DC
The next domino has fallen in the Bucs’ busy offseason.
Linebackers coach Gus “Casey” Bradley is headed for Seattle which has hired him as its defensive coordinator.
And Bradley will be taking a familiar face with him. Former Tampa Bay linebackers coach Joe Barry, recently fired from his Lions defensive coordinator post and thought to be a candidate to replace Bradley in Tampa, will serve as Bradley’s linebackers coach.
So, the Bucs, who already have confirmed assistant head coach Larry Coyer and tight ends coach Bob Casullo have moved on, have another vacancy to fill.
Bradley’s contract in Tampa had expired and he had been exploring his options elsewhere.
Barry had said he was interested in returning to Tampa. He also was thought to be a candidate to join the Bears, who have hired his father-in-law, Rod Marinelli, as Chicago’s defensive line coach.
The fate of Tampa Bay defensive coordinator Raheem Morris remains unresolved. He is under consideration for the Broncos’ head coach post.

Uhh, Drew... You are smoking crack.
Be careful.

Yeah, calm down on the meth. Wishful thinking is one thing but you are on cloud nine with that talk. Everyone should be at the believe and see it type mind frame right now. The Bucs only do one good thing and that is lie.

If the Bucs don't make any drastic changes on offense, they should draft a punter in the first round. He probably have more worth than Dexter Jackson at that selection.

Congratulations to Bradley!! Enjoy the promotion. I don't think this is a big problem at all, teams pick off each others coaching staff every yr. As far as our positions coaches go people always pick from our Defenses side. Hopefully they look to DERRICK BROOKS for this position and to RONDE BARBER for the vacant DB's position. Problem Solved

Hey DR i wouldn't call Dexter Jackson a bust just yet & if he turns out to be that is the Bucs fault. U shouldn't draft for special teams in the 2nd rd no 1 does, they never lined him up or gave him a chance as a WR that was his position in college not the bench. Appalacian State won a few championships while he was there & he contributed. Gruden allowed him 2 fumbles & benched him is that really giving him a chance?

Wow, Jake Delhomme is having a Brett Favrish type playoff game. Cardinals and Chargers in Tampa.
Stephen/Rick, if there is a SB game like a Chargers vs. Cardinals, is it really good for football? If that happens, they might as well go to an 8 team playoff format since the bye week doesn't seem to be beneficial.

D Block, I agree with you 100%. Gruden, especially after a Galloway yeast infection, should have somehow got DJax on the field at the WR position. It is beyond belief that he didn't. Who knows how good DJax is at his true position WR. The Bucs had plenty of opportunities to put DJax in and they didn't. That is one of the reasons Gruden should be fired. He doesn't even try to develop players. I hope my assessment of DJax is wrong but with a coach like Gruden, we will never know.

The problem is the offense for tampa always was & has been. No coach of tampa has held the Offense to the same standard as the Defense Gruden & Dungy. Gruden was brought in to give the team Juice!! We have been thirsty since the SB Gruden has a loosing record since then. We haven't won a Playoff Game since. That is the problem we need more scoring.

DR unfortunatelly u r correct Gruden is a snob when it comes to grooming young players & allowing them to play.
Posted by: D Block | January 10, 2009 at 11:11 PM
If u need to sit players down for 1-3 yrs before u play them you and your SYSTEM SUCK!!! But let's face it fellow fans Gruden will b here for at least another yr next season. I think some of the fans in tampa did the right thing by not going 2 the games or buying tickets this causes BLACKOUTS causing the Glazers to pay attention to there unhappiness.

Hey DR if those 2 teams end up in the SB i think it would b great for football. Bad for SB ratings more then likely but great for football! In my opinion no 1 wants to see the same core of teams yr in & out. Unless it's their team obviously. It pushes more teams to put together an actual team that wins.

Sounds to me, Drew, that the Buc faithful you've been hanging out with are Captain Morgan, Jose Quervo, Jim Beam, Jack Daniels and this guy who goes by the nickname of 'doobie'.
Raheem Morris' rolodesk likely doesn't go real deep (disadvantage to being in your early 30s), if he stays he's gonna have to dig deep into it to find coaches.
On the offensive side Chucky is going to have to find coaches who can put up with a petulant man-child for a boss. I've never coached football, but I've worked for a few of those guys, how do I apply?

DR showing his true colors:
"The Bucs only do one good thing and that is lie."
DR, I rest my case.

Now where did I put that baggie?
Damn it Larry! How many times have I told you to stay out of my stash and stop bogarting. You need to be respectful of others and pass it around Dude.

Seriously speaking, both Gruden and Allen's backs are against the wall. This is a must win or get out of Dodge year for both of them. Whatever they do, no mistakes are allowed or it's adios compadre's.
Posted by: Drew | January 11, 2009 at 12:43 AM
I don't know how deep his rolodex is but we need raheem to stay. But if he gets the job Congratulations 2 him. U don'thave 2 be over 40 to coach, If u know how 2 game plan & motivate u have a chance. Y should the broncos use the same old recycled coaches & coordinators who seem 2 wear out their welcome everywhere they go. It reminds me of somepeople u work with day in day out "I've been doing this for over 20 yrs" they may have done it for 20 yrs but it doesn't mean they do a good job.
Posted by: D Block | January 11, 2009 at 12:56 AM
Raheem was a Coordinator at Kansas State FYI so he may actually land the job. I personally think we need him Gruden shouldn't b around 2 much longer if we don't make a run into the playoffs the next 2yrs. Y not keep the people who understand the defense the way it is set up. All the defense needs are 2 stud DT's that is all the LB's & secondary r set for the most pt. We could use a Lockdown CB & the D will b great
Posted by: D Block | January 11, 2009 at 01:05 AM
We already have a great canidate working for us but under another role; Shelton Quarles. He is the perfect man for the job. He has the respect of the LB group that is there right now and he has the smarts...
Posted by: aaron | January 11, 2009 at 09:13 AM
Not much surprise here. When the coach-elect is still seeking other offers, filling subordinate positions is a hard sell. I like aaron's suggestion about Quarles. I think it's a given that all great players don't make good coaches but Quarles has some special qualities that should carry over to that role.

This is getting a little scary. If we lose Morris too who is out there to take over this defense?
I also believe that Gru/Allen have a make or break year so they should really go after some play makers. This is the most sure I've been about them so far, only cause I think they'll get the boot if we end up in the same place next year.
Couple free agent signings we should check out:
Albert Haynesworth (have to get him!!)
PacMan Jones (can't be worse than Buchanon and has return skills)

If Morris does happen to get the Denver job, does anyone have an idea who the defensive coordinator would be?
Posted by: Jeff_H | January 11, 2009 at 04:19 PM
shelton quarles for lb coach and john lynch for DB coach

Vince, I appluad your valiant complaisant efforts to unseat The Great DR from those golden goal posts, where his heralded angel is perched from, but don't you guys know he's got that damn magic(heavenly) eight ball that he sleeps with. I still haven't gotten out of him, whether he shakes or rubs it? Seriously I have tried a hand full of times and corrected him(with facts not asinine hater ramblings), but to no avail. I think he's like one of my brothers pitbulls, you can scold/whoop'em, but they still sh-- where they want.

All Hail, DR speaks......crap as usual. I can live with criticism but not haterism or for that fact retardism!

Where is the great DR? I bet he's rubbing and shaking............that magic eight-ball as we speak.
