Bucs want Vilma to visit
The New Orleans Saunts are trying to re-sign linebacker Jonathan Vilma, even as the Buccaneers attempt to arrange a visit.
It's a battle between the NFC South rivals. Vilma could be a replacement for linebacker Derrick Brooks at outside linebacker. The Bucs really liked him in 2004 when he was drafted by the Jets three spots ahead of the Bucs' selection of Michael Clayton. Vilma had 132 tackles last season.

Vilma for a visit? Faine didn't visit last season. Get Vilma to sign. Scott is going to go back to Baltimore. I say forget Haynesworth. Yes a great player, but is lazy at times. Go after King from Seattle. He's a big guy and can get after the QB. He is known for his hard work. I think economically he would be better. Then go get Ward at RB, TJ at WR, and a good DE to put opposite of Gaines. While I was spending my $60+ million I would find me a saftey as well. Before anyone gets an idea, we do not want Roy Williams the saftey from Dallas. He is done in the NFL if you ask me. He can hit, but couldn't cover a barn with paint if you gave him a spray gun.

I'm confused only in the point TB said they want to get bigger and stronger at Linebacker. Vilma is another undersized linebacker.

One last thought. My guess is the Glazers are not going to spend hardly anything to save themselves some money. The Man U deal is killing them money wise. If they would just sell this team to DeBartalo we would be in championships consistently or at least more often than we are now.

Maybe not my last thought. Aj you are correct Vilma is a small backer who is in the same mold as Derrick. Both are in the 6ft/230lb range. I'm telling you guys with all the money they have there should be some big deals by the time we wake up, but there won't be. Mark my words they are not going to do hardly anything, but they better make some type of a splash or I will be forced to cheer for the Cowgirls. That is a sign it is really bad down here in Texas.

Forget Haynesworth... too much money... He's not worth what he'll end up getting. Vilma would be a great pick up. That would definitely ease the blow of releasing DB...

Dude, stop cutting and pasting the same shallow remarks into every blog entry, and TURN OFF THE CAPS PLEASE.

Jason get ready for school. I'm making my point in every blog because the writer here all report what other people are saying by cutting and pasting. I took caps off for you

I'll give you that one... I think the fans posting here are giving better news updates than the actual employees... Hmmm... I got laid off from my structural engineering gig recently. Where do I apply to be a Blog Monitor? :D

Dblock, I already predicted Haynesworth to Redskins a few days ago and looks like he's signing with them. We got lucky, as far as the money end is concerned. Taylor would be nice though.
Posted by: OAR | February 27, 2009 at 08:40 AM
Yes you did say he would land there OAR and I was hoping you were wrong, but am realived that you were right.(OXIMORON) It's hard to get in a bidding war with the redskins and I just dont think tying up 100mil on 1 guy. we need alot more than one guy!! Keep workin and lets get some ppl signed boyz!!

lol Jason. Sorry to hear about the job it's tough but F the blogging there might be a spot for you on the Bucs because were not getting anybody. You could be a will LB and I'll play sam LB.

OAR... Sorry bro, but Taylor already signed with the Patriots this morning.

I'm just glad Gruden isn't doing our draft this year. The guys would have to be old enough for Anna Nicole Smith to get his attention.

Jasonhouse, yeah I saw that. I think he would have fit the new "tough-downhill backfield" look. Oh well, next, if there are any?
I also agree Haynesworth got way to much and I'm glad Bucs aren't stuck with that soon to be cap issue.

Who the hell are the Saunts?

Ahh oar, you criticize these writers for making predictions and yet try to take credit for something that was said months ago by several radio, TV, and newspapers. Everybody knew the Skins wanted Haynesworth and were probably going to get him. That was a no brainer. Look at the division they play in.

DR-flip foosball a--, months ago, hmm? While the playoffs were going on then, hmm? If that were true, why did you say the Bucs needed to go after him? You said he was the answer to the Bucs(notice I don't say "our" team) d-line issues.
And most of these articles are predictions? They must be using your magic eightball then.
