Buccaneers sign eight college free agents

The Buccaneers have announced the signings of eight college free agents who you'll be hearing about during the weekend's rookie camp, which gets underway this afternoon.

They are: C Rob Bruggeman (Iowa), S C.J. Byrd (Georgia), T Andre Douglas (Temple), DT Rashaad Duncan (Pittsburgh), CB Marshall McDuffie (Florida International), G Maurice Miller (Mississippi), RB Josh Vaughan  (Richmond) and CB DeAngelo Willingham (Tennessee).

These are players who weren't selected in the draft but had drawn the interest of the Buccaneers throughout the scouting process.

There will be other players who are participating this weekend on a tryout basis, meaning they'll have to catch someone's eyes to have a shot at being offered a contract.

Of the signings announced this morning, keep a close eye on Willingham and Duncan as they both play positions of need for the Bucs. If you were reading along earlier in the week, you know that Willingham has some versatility to potentially play safety, too.

Basically, looking for this years Clifton Smith!

Don't forget about Donald Penn and Elbert Mack. Not pro bowlers but pretty darn good. E Mack beat out Eugene Wilson last year for the job and Penn is a very solid OT.
