Tampa Bay Buccaneers will work out Drew Bennett
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers tomorrow will work out former Rams receiver Drew Bennett.
Bennett was the Rams' No. 2 receiver last season after they released Isaac Bruce, but he broke his foot on the fourth play of the Rams' regular-season opener.
The Bucs also are expected to work out former Panthers and Seahawks receiver D.J. Hackett Tuesday.
Hackett, 27, played in nine games last season with Carolina, including two starts. He had 13 catches for 181 yards and no touchdowns.
Prior to 2008, Bennett had only missed five games in the previous four seasons. He could provide the Bucs with a veteran at their No. 3 wide receiver, behind Antonio Bryant and Michael Clayton.
Bennett, 30, played six seasons with the Titans. Between 2004-06, Bennett averaged 61 catches for 907 yards and six touchdowns.

Might be a good signing... solid not spectacular kind of like Hillard was...

If that's the same Drew Bennet drafted by the Titans he's missed more than 5 games prior to last year, but whatever "Third and Bennet" just doesn't have the same ring as "third and Ike".

I like this 100000000x better than the idea of Plexico.

Bennett played 14 games in 2007, 16 in 2006, 13 in 2005, 16 in 2004, and 12 in 2003.

Got it guys. It should, and now reads, Bennett missed five games the previous four seasons prior to 2008. If that helps. The bigger picture here is they're looking for a vet WR and D.J. Hackett will work out for the Bucs Tuesday, as well.

What's Hackett's story?

I like the idea of trading next year's #1 for Anquan Boldin better.

I like Bennett, but I also like Stroughter. What would they do about Jackson, Campbell and Stovall? They seem to be high on Stroughter and Campbell.
ANd I agree that Plax does not need to be here. Bennett seems like a real character guy and he's produced in the past.

Jay, DJ is a four year "veteran" who hasn't played a full season yet. In the last 2 years he's missed 17 games. Injury I suspect. Drafted by and played first 3 years with Seattle. Rookie year went to SB with them though, so has that experience.
