Bucs to unveil '76 uniforms to be worn vs. Packers

So much is new about the Bucs this season, but they will kick off 2009 Friday with something old.

The Bucs will unveil their 1976 throwback uniforms at a press conference Friday. The orange, red and white uniforms with the stiletto-chewing pirate will be worn against the Green Bay Packers Nov. 8.

Several current and former Bucs will model the uniforms, which were worn by the club until 1997.

The news conference is closed to the public, but it should produce some pretty interesting pictures.

Bucco Bruce returns, hell yeah, finally.

Erick

They should wear them at least once a year!!

aaron

I agree with Prozac, it is about time!

drspb

Bring back the Throwin' Samoan and Ray Perkins and the only thing missing will be the 2-14 record.

galloway84

drspb, Bucco Bruce or Pewter and Red, they will finish 2-14. Raheem and Freeman will bring back flashbacks of Ray Perkins and Jack Thompson. First, the Rays frustrating season to a awful Bucs season without a clear cut starting QB. YUK!!!!

WS

BUC-N-AY!!!!!!! VS. Green Bay! Awesome, long live the cream sickle! Now hopefully all those band-wagon fans will disappear too. I wish John McKay and Ricky Bell were still alive.

Great Tampa, and what about then also finaly introducing your Tampa Bay Ring of Greats or Ring of Honor, Leroy Selmon, Sapp, Alstott and so on, its a great idea to make the link to the past, so you can catch up with the past and introduce the first 6 or 8 members.

Lets push for this guys if the dont do it now the will never I think we are the only team in NFL who doest recognize their former greats by having their wall of greats

OAR

Ah the ole' throw(up)-back uniforms.

ima buc in B-more

i kind of think our owners are ashamed of the orange & white..they feel its cursed..
its kind of ironic.
the bills use their throwbacks every year
ive seen them where there's 2 plus times last year and the year before..
i know they have a better history but know recent SB..0-4
BTW yall will be seeing me on here.....

Itch

Now I can pull out my 1976 Bucs commemorative glasses, my orange Bucs shirt that barely covers my navel, and my Steve Spurrier signed plastic football. Orange soda anyone?

JC

Yuck...

Guess if you have the expectations of the 76 Bucs, may as well look like em too...

OAR

ima buc B-more, welcome aboard our humble abode.
Itch, don't forget your worst-to-first banner or Dave Pear jersey.

Remember, most of you morons wore Dolphins regalia back then and didn't join up until they beat the 49ers in '97. But I guess that was a lifetime ago, right guys? Hey circle the bandwagons! Here comes Bucco Bruce! You gypsys probably put away the Yankee caps and crapped your pants when the Rays brought back the purple and green this year.

OAR

Frank, I too rooted for the Dolphins back in the 70's(even in 76-78, being 0-28 hurts), but was sitting in the ole' sombero in the 79' NFC championship game rooting for my Bucs(was hatched and raised in Tampa) and have been since 76'.
As for baseball...well its sucks.

Itch

Frank,

I hate the Dolphins, then and now. I grew up in Tennessee and had not team so I liked the Vikings and the Bucs, but when they played each other, I always wanted the Bucs to win.

I hate the Yankees, just because they can buy their way into the World series does not make them enjoyable to watch. At least the Rays have heart and are fun to watch.

I can show you my orange navel if you do not believe me.

Itch

OAR,

I was pissed for a year that my sister lost my worst-to-first banner. You got a spare?

Russell

Best uniforms.........ever!

OAR

Itch, sadly I do not, but do have an extra copy of the Buccaneer Fight song, which is not to be mistaken with "heere come the vacuuums"!
