S Will Allen to injured reserve; CB Derrick Roberson promoted
The Bucs have made a flurry of moves this morning, chief among placing S Will Allen (thumb) on injured reserve.
Also today, the Bucs have promoted CB Derrick Roberson to the active roster from the practice squad, re-signed LB Matt McCoy, and placed LB Rod Wilson on injured reserve.
Allen suffered a broken thumb during Sunday's game against Green Bay. His injury is just the latest setback for the secondary. The Bucs lost S Jermaine Phillips (thumb) for the season in Week 2 while S Tanard Jackson was serving a four-game suspension. And last week, CB Elbert Mack was limited against Green Bay with a sprained ankle. His status will be updated today.
The loss of Allen moves backup Corey Lynch one notch higher on the depth chart. When Jackson left the game briefly on Sunday because of an unknown injury, Lynch took his place in the midst of a Packers drive.

Only makes sense, sometimes they play like they're all thumbs.

will allen is only goodon special teams, not on defense. Lynch didnt look half bad last week.

aaron, Id' have to agree.

It's good to see a Lynch in the secondary again.

Attrition has been somewhat kind to the Bucs so far this year. Sears, both Bryants, Bidwell, Flip & Allen are the only nucleus casualties still away from the field to this point. Miami lost their starting QB. Hopefully that evens the playing field. I think the Pewter Pirates will give the Dolphins a good game this week. They may even pull off a minor upset.

Who else did I forget besides Askew?

Whiff Allen won't be missed. We have a roster full of young guys just eager to hit somebody on special teams, and Corey Lynch could outplay Whiff with his helmet on backwards. The problem with Miami won't be who plays quarterbac,k it will be the wildcat. Having difficulty stopping the run will be a big problem for the Bucs. I really hope the coaches have been looking at what the Patriots did under a microscope. If the game is close and the Bucs can't stop them from running we might not even see the ball in the 4th quarter!

Lynch is a good player, I watched him play for the Bungles. He got pushed out when they signed Crocker and Roy Williams. Mike Mickens is a steal as well, he'll be a starter next season.

How many TDs over 40 yds will Miami have?

Wow Daisy, if they share your positivity, I'm sure the Bucs will have no trouble stifling the Miami run game.

I certainly wouldn't classify this as a "setback' at all.
This is a step in the right direction for our defense getting this loser off the field.
Why can't we get Michael Clayton on injured reserve. He obviously has 10 broken fingers.

Vincent, Miami's run game is probably where the Bucs should concentrate on the most. Daisy's comment or comment's to some don't seem positive but it seems to me she has a very valid point with the comment she made that you label as negative.
I don't mean to call you out, but you call people out saying their comments are emotional, and have no valid points. But saying her comments are negative, you are in fact making a statement based on emotion. Positive and negative feelings are emotional. Fans are emotional about teams they love.
Emotions are facts because they cause people to behave in certain ways and I'm sorry if you don't see that but that's the human reality we all live in. In science, Vincent, they call it psychology.
If you want to call anybody out please call me out. Maybe you can teach me a thing or two.

Not exactly sure of your point Clark? My point is that if one has a defeatist attitude, failure is sure to follow.
Posted by: Vincent | November 11, 2009 at 03:42 PM
Were the fans, not the players. If defeatist attitude comes from the fans, than were in trouble.

I think you meant to say "defeatist attitude from the players"? You are correct sir, there you have me!

This is not so bad or like morris would say constant evaluation, we know what we got with allen.....nothing besides special teams, love to see lynch as back up safety get some reps and see if we can use him next year.
Just what we do now with crowder, bennet hope to see some Evans later in the season as well.
Same for mickens, we might got a couple of steal we can evaluate this year with not much on the line.

am I the only one whe misses graham in the running game, yes I know he plays FB but last year he had some great game breaking long rushes, I mean I like caddy and ward but when was the last time they rushed over 70-80 yards let alone 100. Give graham his shot again and morris dont even consider peanut as RB let him focus on special team where he is an ace

Daisy, I feel like I owe you an apology. Sorry if I admonished you in some way that was disrespectful. I mean to say we should be positive, and it was not my intent to simultaneously belittle you or others. I apologize if it came off that way.
