That Crist Tan

Note to Florida Democrats: You might want to go easy on ridiculing Charlie Crist's tan, as you did earlier this week.

On Jim DeFede's radio show in south Florida today (Am 940 WINZ), Crist fielded some pointed questions and showed how's more than ready to deal with that George Hamilton complexion issue: "It’s sad. I mean my goodness - because I happen to have Greek heritage and if  I go out in the sun for a half hour and it looks like I’ve been out there for four hours  because I have a darker complexion than somebody - honestly Jim I thought we were at the place in this country where the color of somebody’s skin or the complexion that they have is not something that’s an issue of political debate anymore. I’ve been fighting for civil rights for all of our people as attorney general, and for the Democratic party to kind of poke fun of something like that was really beneath a lot of Democrats that I  know that don’t feel that way.''

Sounding more like a general election candidate than one in a Republican primary, Crist said he doesn't oppose civil union between gay couples but opposes gay marriage and that "I haven't reached a conclusion" on whether gay adoptions should be allowed.

The ever-unflappable frontrunner didn't miss a beat when DeFede asked about talk Crist is gay: "Not that there’s anything wrong with that, as they would say on Seinfeld, but I just happen not to be.''

Comments

Most Americans-- including Republicans feel the same way...

Hellooooo, "Civil Union between Gay Couples" and "Gay Marriage" are the same DARN THING!!! No wonder no Cristites are commenting on this blunder, from the conservative TAN MAN himself.. and according to CC, The JURY is STILL OUT ON "GAY ADOPTION" WOW, WOW, WOW!!!!

Oh come on now.

I know your skin is tan, but I didn't think it was so thin.

This had nothing to do with race.

Stop being so hypersensitive (like a democrat).

Throwing the race card, when its not really a racial issue, just cheapens it.

what race card, just commenting on the conservative responses??? RIGHT!!!

here is the crististe response :)

Ethics panel finds Gallagher stocks may have violated law BRENDAN FARRINGTON Associated Press

..."The commission found "probable cause" to believe a violation occurred and will later determine whether action should be taken against Gallagher because of stock he owned in Penn Treaty American Corp. and Conseco Inc."..

PRICELESS!!!!

BIG WORD< for you I know, MAY< and, MAY is a great word... Translation....MIGHT< POSSIBLY

Interesting spin here, a friend that dated the AG back for several months in 99' told me his tan is only fron the neck up and it was weird.

Nothing to do with being Greek. I said, was it from a tanning parlor? She said, absolutely.

UGH! How weird.

gopn1

the gopn1 one person seems to not want to admit that Gallagher may be in prison stripes soon, thats why Democrats love Gallagher so much and they have people trying to support him on these blogs...sure youre a republican gopn1. Gopn1 you forgot to say go Rod Smith.

go rod smith
gopn1

Guys, Please put your pen names back. I really would like to know who is who. I don't have the patience with anonymous posts.

You don't have to do the TypeKey thing just put your name and a fake email address in the yellow lines.

Of course I can tell CV, he is the one with the cute little smiley faces :)and cut and paste posts. Also, he loves the quip, "PRICELESS!"

Now, on the main point:

Hefty Jim DeFede pops the question, "Is Crist gay?" and the reported reply...

The ever-unflappable frontrunner didn't miss a beat when DeFede asked about talk Crist is gay: "Not that there’s anything wrong with that, as they would say on Seinfeld, but I just happen not to be." Crist replied.

Well, DeFede, how about the logical follow-up question please. It could go something like this...

"Well, just what do you happen to be? Abstinate, disabled or a fornicator? Since we are all normally sexual beings and you were only married 6 months in the 1970's, have you been abstinate for 30 years or have you had serious sexual relationships with women? There is no report of such female relationships but there have been rumors that you are gay for years. Why do you think that is?"

CharlaTAN Charlie's well rehersed, "unflappable" reply, "Not that there is anything wrong with that" was so PC.

Sorry Charlie, there is something wrong with being gay and you have officially earned the label Stemberger so aptly gave you as a "conservative impostor."

Christies think the Gallagher "probably cause" seals his fate. However, on the other side of the state, Charlie Crist blows a Republican primary by saying what 75% of primary GOP voters do not want to hear. I am sure Allan Bense is glad he endorsed him now!!

Rod Smith will be our next Governor if he gets through the primary.

bill clinton is the best president this country has ever had

1catalyst - I hate to resort to CV tactics, but . . .

"Well, just what do you happen to be? Abstinate, disabled or a fornicator? Since we are all normally sexual beings and you were only married 6 months in the 1970's, have you been abstinate for 30 years or have you had serious sexual relationships with women?"

1. You forgot something called masterbation.

2. When is the last time you had sex and with whom?

3. You are so obsessed with sex that you're either a repressed Catholic or were raised in one of those snake-handling churches. (I'm voting on the later).

4. Does your statement mean that adultery is okay? FDR, Ike and JFK were definitely fornicating with women other than their wives, but they happened to be three great presidents. Does that make it okay since they were men and their conquests were women?

Despite Maslow's theories, when it comes to government and politics, there are more important things things to consider than a person's sexual orientation.

Let this be said, the Dems have left CC alone for now because in the GOP primary they want him to win, they need him to win, to have a chance. They also know that with TG, the GOP primary winner, it is a LONG SHOT at best for them.

ADAM

Again, how can you stop the person that posted as GOPN1 at 2:22 on this thread and at 2:19 on the other.

It is unfair you have removed password protection and this person is now continually posting as me.

Just for the record FALSE gopn1, Ronald Reagan was the best President this country has ever had.

Go Tom Gallagher.

We all look forward to a very safe and prosperous Florida under the eight year tenure of Governor Charlie Crist!!

"thin skin??" - you got the wrong guy!

Better prepare your resumees.

Gallagher will fare no better than his soul mate, Johnny Byrde. In case you forgot, Gallagher made a pact with Byrde eons ago when Johnnie was Speaker; concurrently, Charlie Crist and Mel Martinez worked out a similar deal. Guess who will be Governor and U.S. Senator?!

What is going on with that Bolanos race in Miami? Is he going to be disqualified? Does anyone know what's going on?

By the way, that was a request for real information - not angry tirades on Miami politics...

Irish Whiskey,

Adultery only applies if you are married, sir.

If it is so unimportant then answer the questions:

(1) Have you been abstinate for 30 years?

(2) Who is Katie ? that your followers say you are in love with?

Fact, people do care if someone has an abnormal sexual orientation and try to cover it up. Then it is called deception. Both homosexuality and deception are character flaws and unethical.

Yes, I am very interested in other aspects of a candidate's political positions, but I'm not willing to overlook the obvious question which belies the core values of a person.

9:42

I guess the elections department is questioning a technicality, on whether or not his resignation from the school board arrived 10 days before qualifying, per the law.

Bolanos' camp claims yes, the department claims no.

I'm not sure whether or not that is enough to remove someone from the ballot. But if it is, oh well, you've got to know the rules.

Wait, Gopn1 (of 11:25 pm)... this makes no sense. you said: "Interesting spin here, a friend that dated the AG back for several months in 99' told me his tan is only fron the neck up and it was weird. Nothing to do with being Greek. I said, was it from a tanning parlor? She said, absolutely. UGH! How weird."

But the fact that the tan is from the neck up only proves that it is not from a tanning parlor. What kind of person would go tanning wearing clothes and just expose the face? Seems to me that a TAN FACE comes from walking around outside a bit, while clothed. If the man had a full-body glow, that would be a different story.

The Republican primary is over, no one comes back from 30 points in 30 days -get real!
The C C campaign is in general mode with the general leading the way

tg needs to cry uncle!

tg needs to throw in the towel and show himself some mercy.

Colonel Mustard don't know that was her assesment. I have never been to a tanning parlor; maybe he just used one for his face and not his whole body.

Anyway his tan is way too dark in the winter to be real, even for a Greek.

She dated him, she said this was her observation & it was too unatural.

10:40: If the race is over what are you still doing on this blog?

Tanning is not the issue:

What is CC going to do about
insurance?
education?
property taxes?
etc, etc, etc....

We haven't herad any solutionf from CC son any of these? Is he waiting for his second term to unveil them?

Only a sissy would get himself tanned from the neck up - to look good for the boys.

Ya gotta love (not!) the consistent inconsistency of the Gallagher supporters here. Gallagher says "I've changed," and we are to believe it -- to accept it as gospel because he said so. Crist has now stated publicly, on three separate occasions and in absolute, no-room-for-interpretation terms, that he is not gay, and the Gallagher crowd still accuses him of having an "abnormal sexual orientation and try(ing) to cover it up."

Either you believe what these men say, or you don't. But please, try to be at least a LITTLE bit consistent ...

Fluff is as fluff does...

1catalyst

1. I am a woman, not a man

2. God forbid that I should ever have to abstain for 30 years. However, it's not possible since I have two children under the age of 25.

3. Funny - some people used to call me Katie but alas, I'm not the one in this case. However, given the gentleman and sincerely nice person that CC is, I wouldn't mind being her.

4. From what I've read, homosexuality is not a choice and therefore not a character flaw. In fact, I once read of a scientific statistically-based study that showed that women who have gay brothers have a greater chance of having gay sons. In other words, it can be inherited through the mother.

I went to elementary school with a kid who in 5th grade was very feminine. He would play barbies with us. (I didn't think much of it at the time, but looking back I can see it) He was very sweet. We would talk about clothes etc like little girls do. Then I found out that he died of aids a few years ago. Very sad. My point is, how can a fifth grader choose to be gay?

I have gone to a tanning salon on many occasions. (I don't anymore because of what it does to your skin) You have to lay down in these capsules. The ONLY way you could only get a tan from the neck up is to go in fully clothed. No one does that... its ridiculous to even suggest it. Sounds like he must have dumped her and she's angry about it.

Last thing, 1 Cat says that homosexuality and deception are character flaws and unethical. I would say back that adultery, assault, breaking and entering, stealing cars and dogs, doing illegal drugs while an elected official, trading stocks on the state dime, trading stocks in companies that you vote on etc., etc., etc. (because the list goes on) are character flaws and unethical. So, how can she stomach supporting a man that gives Bill Clinton a run for his money in the unethical department? Plus, I didn't see any headlines today about Charlie Crist facing ETHICS CHARGES!!!

CC would make a better case for himself (and take away from the nonsense gay issue) if he would address the issues seriously. What is he going to do with our state?

If CC is gay, how come the Log Cabin Republicans haven't endorsed him?

Why are these two names at the top left of the categories list for the St. Pete Times Buzz Blog Categories?:

Bill Nelson
Charlie Crist

followed by the category..... Democrats, and Tom Gallagher is near the bottom?

Dear Charlie:

Thank you for "Christmas in July" St. Pete Times July 29th, 2006

Crist: Gay civil unions 'fine'
He also says on a radio talk show that he hasn't decided whether Florida should lift its ban on letting gays adopt kids.

10:40- You were right-- until yesterday. I thought CC would be smart enough to stay off liberal radio stations until after the primary. But he and his handlers couldn't resist getting a jump on some liberal and democratic votes.

Now the real Charlie comes out. And as to why the Log Cabin Republicans have not endorsed him? They know it would be the "kiss of death". Pardon the pun.

Remember the other shoe-- you idiots who don't think things can turn in 38 days better think again. This race is going to tighten in a hurry now. I can't wait to get my mail with the quotes and the link to the radio show. This will get Gallagher more votes in the Panhandle than Bense endorsing Crist.

If Crist does pull this out, Rod Smith will beat him in the general and it is starting to look like Smith will come on strong in the next few weeks.

What "other shoe" do all you idiots keep talking about.....if there was something out there, it would have come out by now.

Charlie has run a masterful race, not moving too far to the right, and perfectly positioned for a general election. The race is over, finite, just waiting for the fat lady to sing. And speaking of singing, do you hear any jailbirds for Tom?

Oh, and about the links.......they are alphabetical idiots......and Gallagher would still come after Crist, but much closer to "Governor", which is about as close at Tom G. is going to get to Governor.

11:49: Isn't is amazing how when you start to talk about issues, the CC boys fall deafingly silent?

Irish Whiskey,

You read somewhere that being gay was genetic? Yeah, in the liberal media but you are wrong.

There are complex factors that affect the sexual expression of people but it is not true that there is a "designer gene" labeled "gay," as Sy Rodgers, a former homosexual says.

The scientific evidence shows it is not genetic and people leave the lifestyle to become heterosexual, fully functioning family people by the thousands every year. But, alas, you won't hear that in the liberal media.

Also, my reference to abstaining for 30 years was to Crist, not you, of course.

1catalyst - did you read the post after mine? Do you believe a fifth grader would choose to be gay? Do you believe that any teenager facing peer pressure would choose to be gay? Do you think anyone's son/daughter who knows coming out will lose Mom and Dad's love forever would choose to be gay?

Who said Charlie abstained for 30 years? You, not him.

or, 1 catalyst, he could say...

it's none of your goddamn business what I choose to do

I'm a CC guy and I'll be glad to talk issues

-insurance
-education
-transportation
-ethics

where would you like to start?

OK CC guy, let's hear it.

What are Charlie's thoughts on Transportation?

CC boy: If you are offering to discuss issues, do it.
So far, all your boy has done is parrott Jeb, Tom Gallagher, Rod Smith or Jim Davis.

The CC boys can't answer questions on silly things like issues. They are getting their hair done. It is Saturday night...

LOL 3:54!

Irisy Whiskey,

Your reading comprehension is at about a 2nd grade level. Reread my 10:02 post, please.

I said a follow-up question is in order and gave a suggestion on how to phrase the follow-up question asking him to explain what his sexual activity has been for 30 years. Would a person that considers themselves bisexual say they are not gay?

Other Cristies,

You who say if I can forgive Gallagher's past sins why not Crist's if he is gay and lying about it now.

I look at the evidence today - regarding sexual activity (normalcy).

Gallagher has admitted, repented and has been living an exemplary family life for years. I've met Laura and am confident she is a fine woman that trusts and loves her husband and son. Tom is a lucky man and he knows it!

Crist had a 6 month "marriage" decades ago, no reported serious female companion for 30 years amid persistent rumors he is gay. Cristies claim there is some woman, Katie ?, they refuse to identify that Crist supposedly loves and takes to events but he asks a reporter to help him find a First Lady. Crist's whole lifestyle is odd, yellow mustang convertible, 1 bedroom apartment and all.

In the last couple of days he got off message and reveals he is the "Conservative impostor" Stemberger said when he admits he supports civil unions (which is gay marriage), gay adoption and says there is nothing wrong with being gay.

For real published research showing homosexuality is not inate, that there is no "designer gene labeled gay," go to:

www.narth.com I think it stands for North American Research and Treatment of Homosexuality.

Moderate:

I can read. What I am (and the rest of Florida is)waiting for is CC's plans. Not what Jeb did. Not what someone else said first. No more "Me too!". What are CC's plans to address important issues like insurance, property taxes, etc.?

When gay people deny being gay just so they can get elected, they lend credibility to functional morons like Conservative.

CC's sexual oriantation has nothing to do with the kind of Governor he would make. Let's stick to the issues.

The important thing to keep in mind is that the Gallagher supporters simply will not -- will NOT -- accept any denial from Crist that he is gay. No matter how directly he is asked, and how directly he answers, they refuse to accept it. That's their right, of course, but then they act as if he is ducking the question. In other words, until they hear they answer THEY want, the answer THEY believe, they conclude he must be lying. This is a sad commentary -- not on Charlie Crist, but on them.

CC needs to talk more about the issues - provide a lot more specifics on how he wants to address things like property taxes, insurance. That would take attention away from his sexuality. Who cares about that?

Bueno CC folks,

Charlies transportation issue page is filled wotih "feel good" generalalities.

Regional Transportation Ideas, Multi-modal systems, blah...blah...blah...

If this state has at least $35 billion in unmet transportation needs, how exactly do you address those without raising taxes?

Somewhere along the line, you have to get that money from someone.

Let's say for craps and giggles that the Federal Government is willing to put u[p a 50% match. That leaves over %17 billion for roads and mass transit that the State and Local goverments will have to come up with. The same amount that Jeb said would bankrupt the Sate if we used it for "Class Size".

Is CC going to make u[p that difference on the backs of developers with Impact Fees (which will only be passed along to the buyer), or an increase in Gas Taxes (which make up 65 cents on every gallon we buy already).

Oh yeah..."regionalism"...what a crock...Jeb just vetoed allowing Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach the ability to put to their electorate a $2 Rental Car surcharge for Tansit needs. The land alone to allow for a system adjacent to the FEC corridor from Jupiter to Miami is over $1 billion. That's without even building the system.

Where's the money for all you feel good projects comming from.

It's time to get a bit more specific Charlie.

Specific and unique ideas are not a part of Charlies regime. If anybody knows that his staff and BIG SUPPORTERS KNOW it... He is FLUFF all the way, always has been and always will be, CC running this state, WOULD BE A HUGE>>>>>NOT FOR A SECOND>> BUT he will be on the press releases that he voted to make some changes.. Are ya kidding... NO VOTERS, will accept that CC did ONE THING to orchestrate anything, never has and never will, he will blow with the wind,, whatever way it blows.. FACT< NOT FICTION HERE!!!!

CC will go the way of another D - Bill McBride, who had no idea what the class size amendment would cost, let alone how to pay for it.

It is time for CC to debate in a public forum with a moderator like Russert who doesn't let you wiggle out of answering.

CC - WHAT ARE YOUR SPECIFIC PLANS FOR FLORIDA???

More DOUBLE-Speak from the master of the sound-bite, CharlaTAN Charlie ... priceless, but even MORE So because it's So TRUE !!

The AntiCrist

www.theanticrist.com

I say the TG people are grabbing for anything right now and if its CC's tan they need to talk about today then so be it...they will be singing a whole OTHER tune when none of them have jobs and he is back to citizen TG. GO CC!

Honestabe here's to your thoughts

BLAH BLAH BLAH

Go Tom!

Funny how the CC boys focus on the irrelevant: CC being gay, the color of his skin. Cosmetic stuff mostly of interest to sissies.

Tom has ideas, plans, solutions.

What does Charlie have besides a suntan?

Funny how the Gallagher people only focus on things like if someone is gay, their tan, and spinning the ridiculous like yesterdays "good news" about TG's facing ethics charges. If they were so certain about their guy, they would focus on the positives of TG's message rather than trying to disparage someone else.

Let's focus on issues and ideas.

What are Charlie's ideas for Florida's futures?

Did it ever ocurr to anyone that the reson CC's sexual orientation gets talked about so much is because that is all there is to talk about when it comes to him?

No ideas. No solutions. No insurance proposals. No idea how to deal wirth property taxes.

Come up with some of those and the talk of being gay and having a pronounced suntan would (excuse the pun) fade into the background.

I think 1catalyst is a closet fag who has some intense and repressed issues he needs to deal with

Come on Folks, doesn't anyone else see the that the Dems via the FDP is once again hoisting themselves on their own pitard? I suppose desperate times call for desperate measures, but this one just helped the Tan (ethnic, or bought) One sail through the primary AND the general. Unless I'm missing something the FDP strategists know that eludes me, I would have thought more of Karen Thurman & her group.
- an embarassed Dem.

Is it just me, or does Charlie Crist remind anyone else of Zoolander?

Next thing you know, he's going to give TG "Le Tigre", or "Magnum".

His education policy is to build "Schools for Kids who don't read so good".

You TG supporters kill me. You keep bitching about CC not talking about the issues. Why would he? He is winning by 30 points and he hasn't even broken a sweat. He will talk about the issues in the general. What does it say about your candidate when he is talking policy and issues (and often arguing with anyone and everyone who dares oppose him including those unfortunate enough to attend one of his campaign stops) and getting smoked?

11:19 You silly CC girls kill me. Issues are what an election is about.

How a candidate feels about an issue helps voters decide which candidate to support.

By makiing a statement to the effect that issues don't matter, you let the readers see what a shallow, fluff of a candidate you support.

11:19 Ladies don't sweat, they "glisten".

Horses sweat, men perspire and ladies GLOW

Trust me on this one.

The tan jokes have gone on for too long. Most of it is light-hearted and inoffensive, but some of it mean-spirited. Do we joke about the skin color of Chris Smith? Does Al Lawson have a very dark tan? Too many tanning booth sessions for Jimmy Morales?
Oh, wait. I forgot. Its not racist when the politician is Republican.

1:19

I will repeat and maybe it will sink in this time. CC does not need to do anything different than he is doing right now. He is up by 30 points over TG and there is absolutely no possible way that he can lose the primary if he just keeps doing what he has been doing. I am sure you guys would love to have 3 debates a day just to get your candidate in the same room with CC. He has talked enough policy and issues to build a 30 point lead. If TG would have spent less time arguing with everybody who dares counter any of his vast "always right" public policy positions and more time campaigning and making friends, he might have had a snowball's chance in Hell. TG puts a lot of people off with his pompous, righteous attitude.

Screw you libs and dems. Charlie and the voters will have your face red, not tan.

Go Charlie We have met. I know you will be a great Governor just like Jeb.

Jesus was a single man, so is the Pope and the entire priesthood. In fact, the Pope lives with thousands of other men in a house full of priceless antiques, and their garments are structurally more like prom dresses than jeans.

Every time a single man runs for office, everyone assumes that they must be gay, which there is nothing wrong with.

It's a good thing that all of these bigots weren't alive 2,000 years ago.

Does the fact that Crist said he's fine with gay adoption, then said he's against it and had his staffers attack anyone who made the claim that he wasn't and now says he's open to it not raise questions of honesty?

Is the fact that he says he's pro-life but supports Roe v Wade and would never sign a waiting period not indicative of dishonesty, whether or not you're pro-choice.

The only sensible person to vote for in this race is Max Linn. He has excellent positions that Republicans and Democrats can support. I'd like to see him elected and it's very possible. Both sides are disappointed with their nominees and Max Linn is picking up support. My second preference, if you can call it that, is Davis - this coming from someone who always votes straight Republican. But only Max Linn would be good for the state. Davis would be a setback and Crist would be harmful to the state and disastrous to the GOP.

So let's not care if Crist is gay. He's a liar, is being shuttled around the state by Donald Trump and can't be trusted on any issue. Donald Trump. Hmm.... Do you really have to be Madame Cleo to fortell casino gambling, emminent domain and so forth. Donald has tried to seaze property before. Wonder why he's dumped millions into Charlie Crist?

Well, I'm a 28yo male. I've slept with Charlie...and I say he's FABulous!
